  1. 30 meter high speed chase. Wow! 10 meters is scary but 30 meters. Off the charts.
  2. It wasn't even mentioned to me when I applied. Nor did it appear to be listed in the points schedule back then.
  3. The pink card must be relatively new as I never had one when I applied.
  4. This is great news for those on the waiting list. I wonder if all those who were invited were applicants based on PR or there were also applicants based on marriage to Thais.
  5. Totally agree. My next car will be an ICE SUV. That is what I am interested in and what the original poster in this thread wants. I wish posters would answer the original question and not get on their high horses and start banging their effin drums.
  6. I've only ever owned one car and that has a manual hand brake, so I have no experience with the more modern system. I just want something with more room and ground clearance than my Honda Jazz. The latter because now that I live upcountry I encounter more red-earth roads and potholes.
  7. I am looking in to buying an SUV when I finally sell my house in BKK. My shortlist is Ford Everest (not worried about resale), and Toyota Fortuner (not sure between Leader and Legender). I like that the specs for Ford are the same as in the west, unlike Toyota whose specs are much lower than in Europe for the same model.
  8. What about a Ford Everest Titanium 2.0 bi-turbo? There are both 4x2 and 4x4 models. More fuel efficient than the 3.0.
  9. Coming through the arrivals this morning, the e-gates wouldn't work for me. Apparently, this was due to booking my air tickets using my British passport resulting in my boarding passes being linked to the same. As such, I had to have an immigration officer handle the entry and she asked as to which passport I'd used to buy my tickets. When told I'd used my British passport, she asked to see the same, but stamped my arrival in my Thai passport.
  10. Many years ago I was staying on a raft/bungalow which was moored at the river bank and had it's electricity supplied from the owners house. It had been raining and as I walked around the raft and grabbed the corrugated roofing I got a massive shock which sent me flying for a short distance. Luckily, there was a fence around the raft which saved me from ending up in the river. I was stunned for quite a while.
  11. So "he" (the author) is still hetro cause she's still actually a woman and her girlfriend is actually a bloke in a dress, while his/her (the author's) husband is actually gay because "she's" still a bloke whose girlfriend is actually another man in a dress, or does that make him bi. No wonder their kid is confused. I'm confused as f@%k.
  12. Traditional (herbal) medicine for the treatment of period pain and irregular bleeding.
  13. I just checked mine, and I am listed as below, but then I only retired a few days ago and haven't reported that to the Social Security Office yet, and in any case I will be covered for a further 6 months, before switching over to the 30 Baht scheme. It is strange though that you are still listed as an alien. You may need to update your information, but not sure how you would go about that. สิทธิประกันสุขภาพทั้งหมดของท่าน :สิทธิประกันสังคม สิทธิที่เข้ารับบริการ :สิทธิเบิกกองทุนประกันสังคม (ผู้ประกันตน)
  14. The woosh you and Mildred heard was probably a rocket. Up to the end of June, there were still a few Bun Bangfai events (rocket festivals to bring on the rain) going on and kids were able to buy rockets. 20240609_160010.mp4
  15. I don't think he'll be able to get hard enough for that to work.
  16. My first live-in girlfriend was a nightmare, and even to this day do not know why I hung around with her so long. She bottled me, knifed me (twice), plant potted me and ashtrayed me. I only did the runner when she was arrested and locked up (for theft). I was in my early 20's and very green.
  17. Honest question for you here. Many years ago there were very few rubber plantations in the northeast in Thailand, but that started changing in the late seventies and eighties, until by 2015 the number of plantations in this area had increased considerably. They were not only replacing existing forests, but also barren land and agricultural land. Has this had a positive impact on the local climate? Certainly had a severe impact on mosquito infestation, but that is a separate issue.
  18. When my wife was sick, she went to her home hospital upcountry and got a referral to a hospital in Bangkok due to her living in Bangkok. After that first referral, there were no issues and she did not need to change her house registration from upcountry to Bangkok. This is going back about 13 years ago.
  19. Well that didn't last long. He's been kicked out by a vote of 12 to 0. Hope he shares all his deep dark secrets now.
  20. Big Joke has got too much dirt on "people of influence".
  21. Over here in Kalasin, I have seen many people use lemon grass instead of vetiver grass to stop soil/land erosion. Probably because it is cheaper and easier to source.
  22. Probably thought of this new scheme as a get out of jail card. The royalists, oligarchs and military will forgive him if he can put a stop to MFP, the reason he was allowed back in the first place.
