  1. You want to teach young students in Thailand? Surely you have not researched this very well? You can talk and show them what you want but most if not all will not care or try and the school will not support you to make the students do this if it is at a semi-private or private school and you will have to pass them all. With your qualifications and experience you should try to work at a university instead. You will need your degree and a tefl or TOEIC. Background checks are getting common although I am not sure they are required. That is really all you need. Any decent school will provide the rest.

  2. These fisherman sound really good at spinning tales! How can it be cheaper just to sell their boats? If they can not get their boats registered it is because they refuse to follow the law. Does anyone think if they bought a new boat with their money that they would follow the law with that one. The excited see they come up with to refuse to follow the laws are ridiculous!

  3. You can not reach legally without a license. To get a license you need to have a bachelors degree. Documents from the school and a contract. You need to have a TEFL if you are a native speaker and a TOEIC if you are not a native speaker. You will need a background check from police as I have been reading others posting about this. There is no way you could get all before your visa extension expires I think. The bureau for the license usually can only do it fast if you are there waiting. More from other poster might help

  4. It's clearly a way in which to discredit her when she's called as an "expert" for the Koh Tao murder trial about to resume next week.

After the GT 2000, I am sorry but, expert is a very bad definition of this woman.
And do you think you could really call any Thai an expert? Being their education system allows everyone to pass? Years of experience does not make you an expert if you have been doing it wrong all that time. ( not saying that she has) but I don't believe I can associate a Thai with the word expert.
  5. Wasn't there an article just recently about bangkok sinking? Perhaps they should be looking into how their roads are built instead of the layers of soil. One idea would be to stop starting new construction projects and then abandoning them to go start more and leaving them unfinished for a year or so. Many times I see where roads are laid out but unfinished and abandoned for a year or 2 the construction continues. I realise this is a way to show a need for more money in the next budget but it does not help in the end with crappy road construction. Within months they have holes and cracks in them.

  6. I don't seem to recall seeing any Thais panicking upon reading her blog or comments in Facebook not can I see how this is considered public disobedience? More likely a case of slander which would be a case for a civil suit. I guess some people have a deep rooted fear of having their actions checked and their accounts investigated.

  7. The NCPO stated some time ago that, once Yingluck's issues were under court jurisdiction, the NCPO would leave it to court discretion as to whether or not to allow her to leave the country. This the NCPO has just reiterated. That some people (including some red shirts) believe that the NCPO, the courts and most government agencies are all the same thing is a separate issue.

Most likely it is not that the red shirts have any knowledge of a ban. This is their way of preparing the people into thinking YL should be allowed to go and if not then it is the Junta that has banned her. Getting the public worked up before a request is even made to use as pressure with the courts to grant her permission. ONLY!!!
  8. I wonder how many of the 28 million households will read the 300 page document? That's even more paper wasted than in a Government office.

Don't you mean you wonder how many of the 28 million CAN read that document and if they CAN then will they be able to understand any of it?

  9. Listen to the man lose your radio station.

It is of course feasible as to why his show has not been aired in those provinces being that they are RED controlled. The reds would not want their people to see any kind of progress or hope unless it was them offering it.

He's threatening to send them to military camps to have their attitude adjusted. You're calling this progress? Hmmm.
You missed my point. For years... Maybe even decades those in the north were only given one choice on the radio. Red shirt propaganda. Anyone with an opposing view was booted out, killed, or blocked. Whether or not this is military or junta or this new gov they are still refusing to air differing points of view and censoring the airwaves there by refusing to air Mr. P's show. The same as when other gov was in power

and the only thing the people heard was how good thak or his sis were doing and how everyone else was bad.

I'm really interested in your comment "For years ...Maybe even decades those in the North were only given one choice on the radio. Red shirt propaganda. Anyone with an opposing view was booted out, killed, or blocked" That is a very very serious allegation, it may be true, do you have any references to prove these murders, sackings or whatever actually happened.

why don't you google about the political stages literally torn down in the north and the singers banned for putting on shows there because they sung for the yellows. Go more in the past and you will maybe learn more
  10. Wow! Has this writer got a distorted view of things and of the impact their own actions relaying to the USAs current views and policies over Thailand.

He is correct about one thing. Mr. P is here stay for some time.

Hard to believe this guy thinks that if the US TIP report is indifferent that it will affect their relations. So he is basically saying that report should show improvement when there has been only a little and no real punishments for their leaders.

  12. Lets not worry about the blame Game this water problem has been around for years , what is required is more dams for your ever expanding population , unfortunately time has now caught up and now the water management has to do something , perhaps the cancelling of the submarine order and the high speed rail network would be a start , priorities need re evaluating, what does Thailand want, water or fast trains and yellow submarines , the biggest challenge for Thailand , you are now at the Xroads in regard to water , how you meet the challenge will show how mature and good managers Thailand's administration really is , on past performances I wouldn't hold my breath while I wait for new dams to be installed, also pre - planning and scale modeling 50 years in advance would cause less problems .coffee1.gif

This year it is water shortages. Next year it will be electric shortages because of increased consumption and lack of future planning.
  13. There is no new regulation it is just a local policy for the witnesses and home visit.

If your income letter was enough for retirement perhaps they were telling you about some rules to push you to get it

The very first thing she said was had we brought witnesses, last year we were told witnesses were only required for the first application. There was no home visits last year.

The second thing she did was hand back all the photographs and told my wife how they would be done. It was not until my wife explained what had changed that I then suggested a retirement extension.

It may not be a national thing but Sri Ratcha has altered the office layout, introduced more staff and changed the requirements on the marriage extension.

When I went to do my second year they wanted to have the owner if the house present and they wanted to do an unscheduled visit to my home and stated they would also interview my neighbors..

They also required almost all documents and photos to be stamped at the city hall office.

Did you comply with all the "requirements" and receive the extension ............Or ?

Of course I did. What choice did I have since I am not old enough for retirement.

  15. Wow! They really think thais will double their spending for fun. Hard to believe when everyonr is sayin minimum wages cant pay their bills even now. And when the average household debt is over 150,000 baht. And when farmers are being told not to farm using water because of drought. So where is all thid extra money thais will have to spend? Even tourism dollars are down.
