Dowries should be banned in all religions. It puts unnecessary financial burdens on families and in my eyes is seen as a valuation of a women based on looks and worth.

I see. Contact less? I use my UK card in UK but not my Thai card here. They've only just stopped asking for signatures. So if the OP has a bank card just use it buy currency anywhere. Even from ATM machine at airport or he could buy traveller's cheques
ATMs at the airport are the worst places to change money.

I don't know why so many are upset with this regulation. Its the same for many countries around the world including the UK although we are a little more Liberal with the amount we can bring in from abroad.

As with most things here....notice the closing time is 2pm....long after the civil servants should have returned to work after lunch...
Why not 11am till 2pm?
Because that's lunch time for officials. 2pm to 5pm is their siesta.

I think the idea of raising interest rates is to stop people borrowing but in a culture where this is endemic, you're right. It will have little effect on the man on the street.

Oh well at least it's free (presumably?) so if you need extra cover, that's all you need to pay.
If it was me, I might suggest to the company that they are not getting VFM. But you may not wish to risk losing it entirely and as i don't know your circumstances that may not be appropriate.
Yes it's free and I don't have the balls to suggest they update it. It's worked very well for many years to be honest, obviously we have not been travelling for a few years and I assume the company doesn't see any need to add Covid cover now the pandemic is easing.

After my 15 days of quarantine - all I wanted was to go home! I was severely pithed off - and I did follow up with the Airport- but was told that the onus was on me to move the car or inform them of our situation beforehand. It was like banging my head against a brick wall! At the time because of the ‘medical emergency’ of Covid , there was little sympathy for a dirty farang like myself!
Sorry to hear that.

That is most odd. From your user name, i assume you're a Brit, and all the UK-based travel insurances I've looked at recently include Covid cover.
2 examples from me and a friend: Nationwide and Post Office. Might i suggest that you review your long-time policy because IMO, it lags the times and isn't fit for purpose. Of course you may have valid, private reasons for keeping it so that was just a friendly suggestion.
Obviously if Thailand is abandoning the legal requirement for insurance, it becomes moot, but it's a very useful thing to have as part of one's overall cover.
I find it's good to review one's cover and needs from time to time with all insurances: travel, home, motor.
Its a work policy. Hasn't been updated for years

Not to mention Avian Flu.
Sounds like this guy has been spending too much time near cattle as he obviously has mad cow disease

They certainly did! We were stuck out of the country because of Covid . When I eventually returned the car had been moved (outside) and had been wheel clamped. The car park ‘guards’ had to help me jump start my very dead (bird dropping covered) car - and the wheel clamp would not be removed until I paid! Not happy!
Wow. If that was me, I'd have gone to the media.

Long term under cover at Suvarnabhumi is safe and quite reasonably priced for a 2 week trip.
Just don't do what I did..... Left LOS in February 2020, and couldn't re-enter until October 2020. Long term parking fee - 62,000 Baht!!

Why would you need to.....most include accident and travel insurance in the same policy anyhow.
You do use travel insurance.....????
Yes I have a separate long time policy but it doesn't cover covid hence the need to take this worthless insurance policy out separately

Why does country with, allegedly, the largest foreign reserves in the known universe need to borrow money?
Its the Thai way. Loans are endemic in Thai society and if you can borrow at such a low interest rate when globally banks are putting up there irates AND not have to pay anything for 4 years then why not?

Why arrest someone over this, its not as if she is going to flee. Its a fraud case do they put people in jail before courtcase in other countries ?
Certainly in my country you would be arrested and charged.
Whether the case go's to trial is generally down to the CPS.
I'm answer to your question, yes, the authorities can hold you in jail especially for cases such as murder
