    "Probably"? What does that mean?

So you're saying the travel restrictions weren't enough? Based on what, other than hindsight? Here's what Dr. Fauci said ten days before the travel restrictions

“This is not a major threat for the people in United States, and this is not something the citizens of the United States right now should be worried about” - Dr. Fauci to

    , Jan 21, 2020

So what happened between January 21 and 31 that indicates the travel restrictions weren't soon enough or enough at all? We certainly can't go by what your pal Joe Biden said. Here is what he said the day after Trump instituted the travel restrictions:

"We are in the midst of a crisis with the coronavirus. We need to lead the way with science — not Donald Trump’s record of hysteria, xenophobia, and fear-mongering. He is the worst possible person to lead our country through a global health emergency."

Now.. do you have some facts to make your case? Yes or no?

Trump’s incompetency and lack of a better restriction policies like quarantine and testing of in-coming travelers from China and even Wuhan is likely the reason why US has the largest number of infection and deaths. He failed to protect his own people.

To be fair, it's just one poll. Actually the Seltzer-Grenell poll which is an excellent poll had him at 49-47. The thing is, this is an extraordinarily small bump for a president to get in a time of crisis. And the same pollsters who show him with a bump in approval of his handling of the crisis, still show him losing the election.

The last Seltzer-Grenell poll was couple of weeks back and his approval was indeed positive. As events moved day by day, I will like to see their latest poll. There just too many of his misleading messaging and poor coordination of medical supplies to meet the states needs; it will hurt his approving in handling the pandemic as the ABC poll review.

Buying medical supplies from the country that gave you the disease in the first place, something fishy here, Holmes ????

Maybe they took the tough medicine and draconian measures and reaping the benefits with manufacturing throttling back to life while others are slow to respond and industries severely impacted; say Sherlock.

Another example of humans aiming to destroy our planet. I pity the younger generation who will have to live here - that is if they escape the Covid19 virus, only to perhaps fall foul of the next Chinese one.

Thought it was animals rather than human like AIDS from chimps in Africa or MERS from bats in Saudi Arabia. By the way, the next planet destruction would likely to be nuclear.

In its latest estimates on flu impact for the 2019 season, the CDC said influenza in the US has sickened from 36 million to 41.3 million people this season through Apr 13, of whom 16.7 million to 19.4 million sought medical care. In addition, the disease has hospitalized 502,000 to 610,000 patients and killed 34,400 to 57,300.

So well worth locking the world down, destroying the global economy, entrenching families into debt and despair, causing unknown social problems for decades to come then.

You sure about the flu deaths are not corona virus related? CDC director Dr. Robert Redfield said it’s possible that some flu deaths may be misdiagnosed and could actually had corona virus.

Lock down work. 2 months of tough medicine in China work. FED is promising infinite QE and so are governments around the world. Better short pain than prolong uncertainty.

Good link. Just as important are parts that have to be manufactured by vendors. Global supply network is important like Petrillo of City Twin Die Cast commented on getting their tools from China. It is a relieved that China production has now started. Alienating allies are such a bane for global cooperation.

  7. The disruption in the global supply chain will immensely hinder the manufacturing of the ventilators. Some of supply of crucial parts such as hoses, valves, motors and electronics come from China. GM will have to source for parts in US and have them manufacture at equal speed and at a higher prices or import them from China with higher tariffs. All said this will take time even if GM geared up in record time to manufacture.
