Total nonsense to compare a jungle country like Thailand with Western Europe or USA.Ask the Japanese,Koreans and Singaporeans what they think about visa free travel for Thais.How many Americans,Europeans etc.will overstay their visa,disappear and work in massage,brothel or on a farm.In the 80’s and 90’s it wasn’t that difficult for Thais to get a visa,but a lot of them overstayed or and just disappeared.By the way once Thais have a long term visa they can work,buy land…..no immigration officer will bother them,after a few years they even can ask for citizenship. Thais need a visa to travel and is ok like that.A country where people get 600bt pension,or people have a monthly salary of under 15000bt,or people sit in prison for criticizing the government deserves exactly that.Like someone else said maybe the rich and beautiful should share their money and wisdom

What about tourists from NorthAmerica,Europe and Australia?Guess declining same as pre Covid.Guess in 10 years no more westerners at all in Thailand

I extented my stay last month in Sriracha immigration and embassy letter wasn't enough,they wanted to see 6 months of payments from abroad into a thai bank.A friend did his extension last Tuesday in Pattaya and embassy letter was enough.So I guess it depends which immigration office,or which immigration officer

Yes I know they have to send it to Bangkok but I thought there are not that many foreigner anymore in Thailand before covid many left already ,but maybe I'm wrong.Feels like every year it's getting a bit more complicated to extend the visa.I feel highly uncomfortable with a situation like this.I guess next year I will opt for retirement visa again too or get a new visa every year in Laos and have a nice trip every 90 days to Malaysia or....I was on retirement extension a few years back but when they started that health insurance stuff I changed to marriage extension because I thought they will change the rules also for extentions

My extension(marriage)ended on Dec9th 2022.We went to immigration on Nov15th.Documents all ok except Embassy pension certificate not enough anymore they wanted to see monthly transfers into Thailand.Lucky me Kbank app has the function to download monthly E statements.I downloaded them and sent them in LINE to the immigration officer and she printed it out,and stamped me an "under consideration stamp" until Dec15th.Normally after 2-3 week I call them and they tell me to come and get my extension.This year we went early for my extension(normally 1 week before expiration) because on Dec10th I wanted to fly to Spain so I wanted to get my extension before.December 9th extension still not not ok,so I cancelled my trip to Spain.Today Dec14th extension still not ok,they told my wife they have to send my application to Bangkok and they have no idea when the extension will be back from Bangkok.also no need to worry about overstay because extension is in process,and we should call everyday. Questions, is this the new normal or is it just me?Does anyone experienced same?Should I worry?If I get stopped by police will they really know I'm not on overstay?How long more I should wait and what I can do if I don't want to wait anymore?For example if I travel out of Thailand on Dec26th without new extension will the immigration at the airport will stamp and charge me for overstay?

What is wrong with the weather?It's December but still rain storms everyday and high humidity(80%up).It really makes me sick and it's getting worse every year.My first 10 years from mid November until February blue skys and no rain at all,,after that the climate changed or shifted.I guess I get really tired with the weather,over 300 raining days in my area(Bowin,Chonburi) .Thailand weather totally sucks.I don't understand how people can say they live here because of the nice weather.2024 my daughter will finish her studies and then i'm gone to south Spain,over 300 sunshine days.Guess as older I get as more I dislike the climate and weather here.By the way forget all weather apps I have 4 different apps and all of them are not able to predict the weather correct;not even close

Hmm this guy must be a tourist first time in Thailand not an expat interpreter sure or just ignorant with death wish.The way he tried to cross the street without looking, with incoming cars is not the smart thing to do here in Thailand.Like another poster said thais never stop at a zebra crossing.Hope he gets better soon but he has to blame himself at least a bit for trying to cross the way he did.The driver was probably scared the car behind him will bump into him if he stops at the zebra crossing.Most thais I know don't even know a zebra crossing

But why immigration still want to see embassy letter about my pension when extending?For 22 years embassy letter was enough for them.Last tuesday at Sriracha immigration they asked also to see 6 months of bank statements.When I asked if they still need the embassy letter they replied "yes'.What about people who don't have a thai bank account?90% of thai banks ask to see a workpermit.Something not adding up,immigration needs you to have a thai bank account but banks don't want to open accounts to foreigner.Every year they add some more bulls....
