Which are better and cheaper?
-
Hi I'm using Skype with subscriptions, one subscrption to call a specific Country in Europe for 3Euros per month 240 minutes included to call landlines and mobiles, and another prepaid subscription 10Euro and call around the world for a few cents per minute.Yesterday I got an email from Microsoft telling me Skype will be cancelled from May 2025.I was very happy with Skype the last 10 years calling quality was great and it wasn't expensive Question is there any comparable app I can use to call landlines and mobiles in Europe/USA from Thailand ?I'm not from the US so I can't use Google.

Smoke signal: Suvarnabhumi sparks smoking rooms outrage
mrmicbkktxl replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Who is writing sh.. like this???I stopped smoking a year ago,why should I sit in a smoking room as a non smoker??? Nothing wrong with smoking rooms they highly appreciated by smokers and they don't disturb any non smokers. Since thais are so greedy they could charge an entrance fee for smoking rooms. -

How to see from photos only who is right or wrong?99% of cases motorcycle is wrong. If you drive car make sure you have 1st class insurance,in case of accident don't say anything, just call insurance guy he will clear everything. If you use a bigger insurance insurance guy will arrive at scene within 30 minutes. Also extremely helpful to have a dashcam

Don’t kill the golden goose! Tax reforms may drive away expats
mrmicbkktxl replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Even if there is a double tax treaty you would have to pay tax in Thailand if for example in country X you pay 10% tax but in Thailand you would have to pay 15% tax, then you will pay the difference -

Your government knows already if you have an account here and they know how much money you have there, since 2023 tax offices are connected. If Thailand wants to know how much money you have in your home account they will know. You enter Thailand with passport, you extend with passport,90 day report with passport, etc. .I don't know how many expats are living in Thailand more than 180days but probably a lot. They will need a lot of manpower to check every expat -

Since 2023 they can see everything and can get all information they need,I think it's called OECD CRS ,Thailand joined last year. -
You should check the blood flow,I mean which veins are still in use,for that they inject some stuff to see the veins. In Bangsaen at Burapha university hospital they have an english speaking specialist, but pretty busy.First you need an appointment there, after that he will give you an appointment for vein screen(I had to wait 6 weeks),i don't remember how much I paid.To make an appointment you need a thai speaker. It is government hospital but very ok

Late 90s Pattaya short time 500bt,barfine was 200bt,bkk 700-1000bt,I think 2-3 years ago in Pattaya I asked a good looking white skinned beerbar lady how much for short time,3000bt was her first price. it was fun in the 90s,drinking,playing,no mobil phones. Dating sites with hookers probably ok if you only want to bang.I liked the beerbar vibe in the 90s it was really fun.For 3000bt you can have short time sex in almost any european city

riducolous to compare visa rules and entry requirements of a banana jungly country with a G7 country. How many UK citizens overstay their visa and work in Thailand or other Countries without the required documents? How many Thais overstay their visa and work without permission to do so? -
Thai customer complains about buffet restaurant staff service
mrmicbkktxl replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
The only thing what counts about this review is, the owner of the restaurant is suing the customer. That sticks!!!!So this restaurant is a no go. Since Thailand has a defamition law what surpresses free speach and the truth nobody actually leaves bad reviews.I don't care the review was correct or bull....The owner could reply with an apology and set things straight without threaten the customer. -

A few years ago I was on retirement extention(less documents and issued right away) with certificate from my embassy, certificate was always enough for them. Then the rumors came up I might need a health insurance so I changed from retirement extension to marriage extension(they complained).A lot of documents but all was ok, certificate from embassy sufficent.2022 certificate wasn't enough anymore, they also asked for Thai bank account showing monthly transfer from oversea minimum 40000THB per month.2023 I wanted to change back to retirement extension but they didn't let me because certificate from embassy showed 2200Euro something like 85000THB but my monthly money transfers to Thai bank only 42000 THB average. They said I need to transfer 65000THB.I thought ok I can do that but then rumors came about taxation. If I transfer 65000THB I will have to pay 5% more tax,so I stayed on marriage extension and use sometimes an ATM card if I need more money By the way when I told them I won't show a certificate (40Euro) in the future because they can see money transfers from Germany they insisted I still need to show every year a certificate.

Which is the best airline to fly to Thailand?
mrmicbkktxl replied to RolandRat's topic in Thailand Travel Forum
It depends from where you fly, also depends you need a nonstop flight or not and most important fare price.Last 5 times I used Thai air because it was a cheap fare but service sucks big time,if qatar air or emirates have a good price then go with them but it's not nonstop .Anyway my favorites are Singapore Air and Eva air but most of the time they are a bit more expensive. Also you need to find out what kind of aircraft they use for a specific flight,an old 777/200/300 is not really a great experience same goes to Airbus A330.Qatar Air and Etihad changed the aircraft a few times before departure date so I lost paid seat reservation and the new assigned seats sucked big times. -
Out of curiosity at what point they served you a cold beverage how often they cruised during night to serve drinks? Last 5 flights BKK-FRA,CPH-BKK,BKK-CDG,MXP-BKK,IST-BKK they served the food after 1 hour without beverages it took them another 45 min to come around and serve beverages,at night nobody served anything, instead I had to go to the back of the plane to beg for something to drink and they didn't look happy I disturbed their chit, chat.latest flight May 2024 I purchased 4 cans of coke cero each for 4Euros at Istanbul Airport so I don't dehydrate during the flight.I only use them because sometimes they offer good fares and are the only ones with a nonstop flight.
