  1. I am having trouble accessing ITV and BBC (particularly I Player) with my Surfshark VPN and the problems keeping a connection are getting worse each week.  Any recommendations from readers re another provider with reliable performance at a good price. I mostly use VPN for this purpose and occasionally to access a site where I am considered to be a UK resident.

I noticed the same thing today. But on the phone app it was still in THB. Very odd. But then I noticed the auto translate that @Dmaxdan had suggested, turned it off and now back to THB

Great. I also tried that and all is OK

It should help you to know that not everybody has screwed up their Lazada ordering / website configuration which, in turn, means that you should be able to fix whatever you inadvertently screwed up.  ????

    Have a nice day!!!!!!!!

  4. Suddenly this week any product that I search for on Lazada, the price is shown in US dollars. If I proceed to buy it, then it switches to Thai baht. I am not using a VPN. Is there any setting I can change to correct this?

  5. I am located in Thailand,

I have recently been getting messages like this when trying to access my normal websites like Lazada, Facebook, BBC sports.

    image.png.baf8e49de9d0b2eb3a3bf44a60c3469f.png

When I switch to my Surfshark VPN, all is OK. This problem has coincided with Thailand being removed from my list of locations and I was therefore wondering if there was any connection between the two.

I thought that there may be some sites like my bank or Lazada that would query if I was connecting to them from a country other than Thailand.

  6. I have been using Surfshark VPN for a while and have noticed that in the last week, Thailand has been removed as one of the locations you can link to. Does anyone know why this has happened and if it affects anything when using it?

Tell us more about your network. Is it a home network? Do you own it? Is there a captive portal to log in? Which ISP do you use? That sort of thing.

Another client-side troubleshooting step, you can try manually setting your dns to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 and see if bypassing the ISP's dns solves the problem.

If you're using a separate antivirus program make sure to turn any "scan ssl" type settings off and test if that fixes the problem.

I have date time correct. I am using TMN network from home on my own private Acer laptop. I only use Microsoft Edge antivirus. I am over 80 years old so find  trying to solve this problem quite stressful but at least I can operate OK using VPN to Thailand/ Uk depending on which site I am visiting.

What puzzles me is that it might work OK on a site a couple of time and then on that same site I will then get the warning.

  8. This morning when trying to access several websites that I normally access daily with no problem including this one I am getting the following message. This happens even when I switch to a different browser.

When I switch to my Thai VPN all works OK. Any ideas why this is happening.

  9. A friend has just explained the difficult situation his wife finds herself in: -

She had an operation 1 month ago to remove a, malignant tumor from her stomach.

Subsequent biopsy showed that they had removed the tumor and there was no cancer in the surrounding lymph nodes.

Last week they met the oncologist at Bangkok Pattaya hospital and she recommended a 12-treatment regime of chemotherapy over 24 weeks. They said that she would be infused and needed to stay in hospital for 2 nights each time. The cost per treatment was 150,000 THB or 1.8m THB.

On Saturday they visited again and they recommended she should have a pod on her chest to do the infusion, a 1-hour operation which would cost 120-150,000 THB.

They then got a call from the hospital saying the insurance had only given O.K for 1 night stay, and we had to pay the second night.

He asked the oncologist why she needed chemo if her results were clear. She said that there was a 70% chance of it returning within 5 years, but with chemo it was 30% chance.

She also had a PET scan in BKK and nothing was found outside of her stomach area, that was before the operation.

    Questions

    1. Is a 2 night stay necessary for an infusion?

    2. Should she do the chemotherapy?

Can Sheryl or any other knowledgeable forum member give any useful advice for me to pass on to him.

The one who wants to use an agent should pay for him.

If you buy from a professional seller, usually the seller will take care of the transfer and the fees that come with it.

If you buy from a private seller, his part of the deal is completed when he hands you the vehicle, key, book and completed transfer documents. Doing the transfer and paying the fees will usually be done by you.

My preferred method when buying from private, or selling to private, is to meet together at the DLT, so you can have the people at the DLT check that all documents are in order, and when they confirm that everything is in order you transfer the money and let the DLT process the documents to do the transfer, like this you won't have any surprise later.

Any idea what an agents fees might be?

  11. I have Thai friend who is purchasing a second hand car from a falang.

What is the norm for who pays an agent to have all the necessary  paperwork that is required to change the owners name. Is it the buyer or the seller?

  12. Just had feedback from my Pyathai Dr and he has confirmed that Euthyrox should be taken on an empty stomach and not with Omeprazole, so I will now take one when I get up in the morning and the other when I go to bed at night.

I get regular medication from the NHS, and am good friends with the pharmacist at what I would call the 'shires' most well known hospital, she says taking vitamins - when I asked about upping my intake of them- is a waste of time, you should be getting all the vitamins you need from your diet. I guess that may be different in your eighties

Mine is Multi Vitamin 70+ and choice of diet is not always easy living in Thailand. My concern is not what I take but when.

  14. I take the following medicines / vitamins daily (some before breakfast, some after and some after dinner).

I have had conflicting advice from different hospitals on which to take and when and was hoping I might get some useful advice here as I am 81 and recovering from several serious medical conditions and believe that the effectiveness of the various medicines can be affected by when I take them.

    ** Before breakfast **

    Omeprazole 20mg

    Euthyrox

    ** After breakfast **

    Diovan 40mg

    Tumeric/Curcumin +

       5% Piperin

    Mevalotin 40mg

    Cod Liver Oil 1000mg

    ** After dinner **

    Tumeric/Curcumin +

       5% Piperin

    Aspirin 81mg

    Glucosamine & Chondroitin

    Multi Vitamin 70+

  15. I am looking to buy some bi-focal glasses in Pattaya (preferably on The Darkside).

Can anyone recommend a competent optician who is reasonably priced?

  16. Yesterday when creating a new Word document - Windows 10 I had the following problems.

Each time I keyed space bar I got image.png.9f774dd9df19927757a53628c7c802fc.png       image.png.3ab77dcac9e944784c5ed1dbcdcdd947.png

When I key Tab key I got image.png.05319055b386376857157ca22f3d06a2.png

and when I keyed return key I got image.png.8007af44905ab1b5a809a2e6c38dbec0.png

When I go to print document everything is back to normal.

Anyone have any ideas how to clear this problem.

As one with Ileal conduit stoma can affirm lack of many having much knowledge.  Mine was done at Bangkok Hospital and there were only two nurses with any experience but that was there full time job - and they did not seem to have any knowledge beyond what that hospital provided bags.  I could only sleep on right side for two years as seal would leak if turned over but were hard to remove.  Finally found Coloplast 5585 on Lazada and that has been a lifesaver for last 3 years as although one piece and change every other day they do not leak and very easy to remove.

You may be able to find some support on internet but have no knowledge of any Thai specific.

You might want to have mod move this to medical section as Phuket is likely too limiting.  As for supply I use Lazada/Shopee for buying bags and night bags.

I buy Convatec 2 piece from this company in Bangkok. Very good service.
