Aussie Passport renewal (by mail)
Hi, I had the same problem as Will27 had. Got an email saying the photos were digitally enhanced. They changed the background to make it more Thai friendly. They just wanted the pure original ones. Got the same Mum / Dad shop to give me the original, sent to Embassy by email, no dramas. Passport arrived a few weeks later.

Honda CBR 150 - which fuel?
Ok, I stand corrected.

Honda CBR 150 - which fuel?
Normally the figures of 91 and E10 indicate the minimum calorific value of fuel allowed by design of the engine. Any higher value ( say 95) “ normally “ is allowed however the ECU ( Engine control unit) might take some time to adjust to this. That is why when you constantly change fuels, the ECU is being given a workout and may experience some rough running for a little while as the ECU adapts to different fuel regimes. As someone said, the higher the calorific value fuel, the better the engine runs, normally is the case.

Aussie Passport renewal (by mail)
Last year when I renewed my Aussie Passport by mail, the only small hiccup was the photo. I received an email from the Embassy that to use the same shop( local village) but tell them to not use any editing software and then send the original by email back to the Embassy. Quickly did this and photo passed muster. Got my new Passport about 2/3 weeks later. Very easy but not cheap.

All Aussie Related Stuff (excluding the old age pension)
All info and forms on the Australian Embassy Bangkok Website. Prices have gone up. No witnesses required to sign. Just have to give the name and address of another Australian person. I gave my brother’s in Brisbane . All good.

All Aussie Related Stuff (excluding the old age pension)
Hi, living in Isaan, I renewed my Aussie Passport online last year. Got photos done at local shop after giving them the guidelines in the application form. New Passport arrived in mail in about 3/4 weeks. Very surprised how easy it was.

Hole in Rice Field - Bentonite Clay
Hi, I had a similar problem some years back after a particular dry “ dry season “. As my heavy clay soil dries, cracks form underground and normally lead to a low pressure areas like a river, or a dam in my case. Anyway, after some very heavy rain my rice field had a similar size hole adjacent to my dam and actually filled my large dam within a couple of days. The locals said that this normal and needed to be filled with sand bags. Got about 20 bags delivered, stopped about 90% of the flow immediately and then topped it with soil after the rice season was over. A couple of years later, all good. sorry, no experience with Bentonite Clay but could do the trick, maybe need a heap of it. Good luck.

Kratom May Be Reclassified as Narcotic to Curb Misuse
It’s not the actual Kratom that is the problem. It is what they mix with it. Ask me how I know, re Stepson..

Understanding blood pressure.
2000mg equals 2 grams. A level teaspoon of salt typically weighs approximately 6 grams. While the exact weight can vary slightly depending on the type of salt (fine vs. coarse) and how tightly it's packed, 6 grams is a good general guideline. So try one third of a level teaspoon. Hey, I like my salt as well.

Can those public Reverse Osmosis Water Filters be trusted?

Can those public Reverse Osmosis Water Filters be trusted?
I have a couple of RO systems and been using them for about 14 years. They have definitely come down in price with the latest from Lazada about 5000 Baht. I replace the ( first filter, sediment) every 6 months, about 50 baht and the rest when the taste changes , about 2 years. Can also add additional Post carbon filters to the stack very cheaply. Some facts, pure ( good) water has NO taste. People say RO water tastes funny. Hello, something is wrong with the system, suggest maintenance ( not high in Thai DNA). <removed> testing is NOT about quality but how much ( unknown) dissolved chemicals are in the sample. Here is an excerpt from Google AI.. No, <removed> (Total Dissolved Solids) is not a good measure of overall water quality. While <removed> provides a measure of the total amount of dissolved minerals and salts in water, it doesn't indicate the presence or type of harmful contaminants. A low <removed> reading doesn't necessarily mean the water is safe to drink, and a high <removed> reading could be due to beneficial minerals or harmful pollutants. A working serviceable, well maintained RO system is probably the most affordable drinking water solution.

Farmers Plead for Government Help as Paddy Prices Crash Below Instant Noodles
As a rice “ farmer” in Isaan, a few points. When farmers say 5 Baht a kilo, the Millers pay about 10 Baht a kilo for milled rice as nearly half the weight is bran. Yes, cheap and then sell the bran for chicken food. If the Rice Millers were regulated like the Sugar Millers, then they would be pressured to offer higher prices . Sugar industry is backed up by some very high people pressuring for high prices. Now Scorecard mentioned technology to ensure water efficiency. Many years ago, I tried to buy a Laser Land Leveller in Thailand. None were made so I imported one from India. I level my fields to less than 1 cm to preserve the little water we get at times. All my rice is grown organically and it has taken about 6 years for the soil to get rid of the poisons and chemical fertilisers. Last year was my first crop yields comparable with yields using Chemicals. ( I don’t live in Surin where there is an Organic Cooperative). Most Thais couldn’t take the reduced yield for many years, they need to survive. You can’t blame them for not going Organic.

Samsung Air conditioner – its stuck – Ive had enough
Google, “samsung ac temperature changes automatically to 30 degrees”. Seems like a known problem and the fixes for it, worth a shot.

Samsung Air conditioner – its stuck – Ive had enough
Also most units have a reset switch or a complete power off( breaker) for a few minutes to reset.

Samsung Air conditioner – its stuck – Ive had enough
Couple of things, maybe the remote control temperature is displayed for a few seconds to show you your remote input worked then it reverts to the actual room temperature. Secondly, have you done any maintenance to the condenser ( outside unit). Does that fan work? Is the evaporator ( inside unit) fan working as advertised .

Using an Agent to renew Australian Passport using an Agent
I didn’t do the swap to the new passport until I had to do my next extension, about 4 months. SCB first, took 10 min so new bank docs had the new number. In Korat, they elected to do transfer and extension all at once, really no dramas.

Using an Agent to renew Australian Passport using an Agent
I just did it entirely online from home here. Quick visit to local photo shop for pictures then sent all online. Just make sure they don’t photoshop to enhance. Received new Passport in about 4 weeks. No need for Agent, only 1 page to fill out.
