Personally, seeing as your not the father, I don't think its appropriate for you to sleep in the same bed, irrespective of any Thai "norms"
although not Thai related, when I worked in the US, I had an American GF, who had a niece who used to come and stay with us weekends, and a similar story the niece didn't want to sleep on her own and wanted to sleep in the bed with her Aunt, right from the offset, I felt uncomfortable with this arrangement even though the GF and Niece who was 12, said it was ok and the GF would sleep in the middle, in the end I used to sleep in the spare bed room, and the GF would sneak away to the spare room once the niece was asleep in the main bedroom to play hide the Sausage and then go back and sleep next to the niece..
Agree 110% get this fixed ASAP. Suggestion:>>RUN don't walk to the nearest temple and have a monk come and speak to the girlfriend and daughter about the making the proper arrangements for sleeping. New bedroom daughter and the other for mother and her mate Period.
Otherwise the new bedroom is for mommy and the 12 year old baby to share while the man gets his own room with a permit only issued to mommy. Geezzzzz.

One foreign snake sent by the police - that's far more criminal than what these guys were up to.
Hope he got a PR visa as a reward or off some major crime he committed for his Judas act.

Every person has a desire to feel important in the eyes of others - some just don't have anything else to show off than being here longer.
How about the hundreds of ex Special Service guys who have retired to the bars of Thailand. There is a Belgian guy on Samui who tells everybody that he was seconded to the Australian SAS in Viet Nam. My mate , an ex Major, ex Aussie SAS tells me that it is all B/S as they never had foreigners seconded to them in VN.
I'd be inclined to disbelieve both of them.
Whats seconded to anything or anybody mean??????

Yeah, like the guys you meet that are ex Cia,or Mi5,laughable.
Statistically there has to be some of this type here. Keep in mind Thailand was the most chosen R & R country during the Viet Nam war. Oh excuse me yanks (police action)

I let my wife do all the talking and when its time to leave she just yanks on my arm and I stumble off with her like a kept man who is to stupid to care.

If you turn the roles around would you have brought up the same subject? There is no "typical" scam, there are hundreds. Up to you whether you get involved but as you have read and researched on this forum I'm sure you know what may be in store for you.
On the other hand it may be genuine.
Thats the beginning of a scam or if you offer to pay it off and she refuses your offer you have found the girl of your dreams. A keeper.

According to Motorola's Mobility's Global 2010 Media Engagement Barometer study, American and Japanese viewers spend 21 hours per week watching television and video content. South Koreans watch the least TV--just 13 hours a week. The average amount of time spent watching TV each week around the world is 17 hours. Motorola said most television viewers watch scheduled programming, but 34 percent watch scheduled content in addition to online video and on-demand shows.

Got to be a scewwed survey. Seems it was a yank survey because only a yankee would forget/leave out Canada. Still embarrassed about getting their butts kicked in 1812 LOL

Sounds like you should have stuck with your wife, you need someone with a clear head directing you.
At least lie to her and get to the U.S. smoothly get your $ straight and come back.
-
Not sure if there is any specific symbolic meaning, but it looks great.
Very impressive.
Wisdom, yes, plus Kwakwaka'wakw nation (in Canada) believe hearing an owl foretells imminent death. A good book is "I Heard the Owl Call My Name."
Where might one find a band member of this nation in Canada???

If you have enough experience just lie on your resume.
Choose a city, a university and a course - put it on your CV and forget about it.
For somebody in their 20's, they are likely to check - but for somebody mid 30's plus it is experience that matters.
You seem like a decent bloke so it might not sit well with you to be dishonest but hey, if that's what it takes to get on in life and you are confident enough in your abilities then go for it, you have nothing to lose.
My wife has a Thai B.A. which would never be recognized anywhere in the world but here. Bachelors in Tourism Management. 4 years to get too. Its a 2 year tech course in Canada.

Not trying to have a dig here, but it depends on how "world wise" the ladies are, if they have come off a farm or never travelled out of Thailand, then what they have said is correct, however I have Thai lady friends, who are genuinely friends who were educated over seas and have travelled a lot and the kiss on the cheek thing in public is not a big deal and on some occasions its actually them who will initiate the cheek kiss thing
Heck I got crapped on for holding hands with my future wife by Aunts who said this cannot be shown in front of the farm workers who were husking corn. We were to be married 2 days later. Her attitude pissed me off so bad I refused to eat her food when it was served for my family escorts.

suggest you ask airline their requirements
This is got to be the silliest question I have ever read on this forum..... What The writer is asking about is done all the time.... Fathers buying daughters and sons e tickets Companies sending employees e tickets. That is what e tickets are all about. Convenience not hassel like the OP is over thinking.

Meet her online first on dateinasia.com chat for a year offer her money when the topic come up of her need and when she refuses your offer of money you will know you found a keeper. I did.
-
Wow. You all have scared the bah jeebers out of me and all I need to do is have my Pacemaker check don't every 6 months. The manufacturer has given a list of for profit hospitals in Thailand. Now I am thinking of flying back to N.America back check. Ticket cost verses buying a hospital a new wing.

I am at work all day long so whatever I suggest will almost certainly not be implemented and I have no way to know what happens during the day.
How about taking some time off to help out with the upbringing of your child, I feel sure the wife and MIL would welcome the break, that way you can have your own input.
If you dont like the situation do something about it, change your ways coz you sure as heck wont change theirs.
You should re-read the OP's post. He did do something about it............!
-
Not trying to be funny but what exactly are you contributing to your children's up bringing ? Sounds to me like your leaving all this to the wife and relatives and not contributing anything
Breadwinner. As in most families any where in the world I am working 8 to 6pm to get the money to feed my family, provide for the future and educate my children.
Yes of course I am leaving the bulk of it to the wife...by necessity....as is done almost everywhere in the world (not just Thailand).
So did our fathers work those hours but he made time for us on reading evenings, sports & outdoor entertainment weekends and holidays AND YES "he occasionally put his foot down or up or in or on as the case needed". Your excuses are not valid OP
-
My wife just tells me it is an ominous sign and if it walks in front of you can attract pii. Of course if you kill it that could also attract bad luck so you are in a bit of a Thai dilemma - time to call in the ghostbusting monks .
In the Tales Of Power series of books Carlos Castaneda states that black crows flying across your path from the left heralds only a change of life's positions
-
She wants money from you sometime. I find it funny that she is supposedly jealous of you going out and maybe having sex while she is banging two other guys on the side.
Also she was clearly enjoying my company. (yes, I can tell the difference)
I doubt that very much, they are extremely good actors.
<deleted> The OP answered all his own questions. This is a NON_POST

I guess the OP has No life insurance or a mindset that a Thai can live in Thailand without him.LOL

Marry her outside of Thailand. That confuses the whole sin sod bs.
5 million is about 5 million more than I paid.
If you aren't trolling us, her family is trolling you.
Gooooood Luck mate!....you will need it by the sounds.
The whole sinsod dowery business is a backwoods tradition ancient as well. Get yourself an educated girl who lives in the real world 2014.

I appreciate your comment, and the article. Sadly, it's not exactly a fair world anywhere.
This post is about, relevant, fairness for expats here, considering the Thai nationals are currently fighting for, relevant, fairness for themselves.
If you knew you could fail in making this place better, what would you change?

I am too...... I think I'm successful, not sure though but maybe I am. One think is for sure I am not as happy as I once was. Hope you are happy dragging this out of me thereby making me more unhappy realizing how successful and unhappy I am.
