My grandparents came to Thailand many years ago and had an altercation with a tuk tuk driver (taking them where they didn't want to go then leaving them stranded). To this day whenever Thailand comes up, so does their story. That's nearly 30 years of bad press because of that man's attitude to tourists. Seems like little has changed and thats why most of my friends and family have travelled to neighbouring countries instead. Either that or they really don't like me...

I don't really consider myself a sheep as I don't copy others. I buy more for practicality. I don't have an I phone, just a cheap Chinese one that does the job nicely. Once you put a case on a phone, no one see's what it is anymore anyway. My hair has been the same for the last 20 years and I still get compliments, I buy shirts that last me well and fit well, I use a straight razor because I get less irritation and it's more calming, I've got an eco car because I mostly drive in the city, I avoid big crowds, especially the selfie crowds as I prefer peacefulness. Don't get me wrong, I'm not exactly a hermit, but I'm comfortable with who I am and choose to live life my way.

They're doing pretty well with building new projects around Nakhon Pathom. They're building multiple bridges over the railway tracks and it looks like they have already started this road to Hua Hin according to the current roadworks (check out Google maps using the satellite). I assume the new road they are building in front of the main provincial office will join it too beyond Ban Phaeo. Nakhon Pathom is planned to have an airport also, so this road will help with that. In addition, they have started building a Central department store.

I shop at lotus because its easier to find a parking space and there are fewer customers. I prefer to shop in peace.

Please make the speed limit 120kph to make it worthwhile.

I think in truth we know the endings to many films before watching them as the good guys pretty much always win at the end. I watched the new Top Gun yesterday. It was obvious from the start how it was going to play out, but I still really enjoyed it.

The article said that each tourist this year spent on average just over 30,000 baht (in comparison to 50k in 2019). It didn't state the average length of stay, but 30k per tourist doesn't sound that low spending if it were for a 1 week holiday. To me it just means they are not suckers buying the overpriced brands in the big shopping malls that they can get cheaper at home.
