  1. The Pajero also shouldn't have been on the road with red plates at that time either.
  2. Just look at the number of people who went to pay their respects to the late queen and you will get an idea. The royal family is part of British culture that many are proud of. While politicians are busy bickering and point scoring, most of the royal family don't lower themselves to that level. The royal family are like the stiff upper lip of British society, that Harry seems intent on destroying.
  3. Even as a once regular tourist to the area, I feel your pain.
  4. The last guy we had to repair ours chipped away and cracked the toilet itself, so it was off to Global for a new toilet as well.
  5. I see lots of tourists here with young children. Of the ones I speak to, they are mostly well off Europeans. To me the issue with the 4am closing time is the zoning. For specific party areas I don't see the problem, which is what I understand this proposal is about. I would be concerned though if it was applied liberally. It's awful for the majority who don't go clubbing til the early hours when they are kept awake in their hotel rooms or homes by the thumping bass from bars in the distance (or Karaoke). Most tourists wouldn't know until it's too late. When friends come to visit me in my non-tourist area, they all complain about the noise at night. I've tried booking several different hotels to avoid the problem but there's always a bar open til the early hours.
  6. That's a very interesting point. I was initially looking to 'future-proof' my PC, so I wouldn't need to worry about performance for some time to come. I mostly use Lightroom, Photoshop and Vegas Pro, oh and look at ASEAN NOW.
  7. I've also been looking to build a new one but have been put off due to the ddr4 or ddr5 choice which also affects the motherboard to buy, and the costly graphics cards. After spending so much money recently, I think it's more prudent for me to wait another year to see if they can increase the ddr5 clock speeds and lower the latency. If I were to choose a supplier though, I'd stick to JIB unless tempted by other sellers on Lazada.
  8. Glad you got it sorted. Not the same bank, but I went into TMB a while back (before the name change) as I had a new passport. They said they couldn't update my passport number for the account so they still use my old one. Address, no problem though.
  9. Nakhon Pathom will be less congested unless you catch the Friday and Sunday traffic. Borromoratchanonani (or however it's spelt) is usually pretty decent, but you will have slow moving traffic leaving Bangkok between where the elevated road comes down and Salaya. Access to the expressway is easier to go in than out. The elevated road gives access to the outer ring road, but you will get stuck in traffic once it joins the sirat expy at Chatchujak. Leaving BKK you will get stuck in traffic at Ratchadamnoen, and the elevated an be atrocious until you get past the Kanchanapisek exit at busier times due those trying to cut in at the front of the queue. If you want to try a different route I'd say use Ratchapreuk, if you live near the Sathorn area anyway. Use Borromoratchanonani, then phet kasem and then 375 past Ban Phaeo. This road has two lanes and usually flows very quickly. It only has a couple of traffic lights on it and I've never had a speeding ticket from using it either. It will bring you out right between Samut Sakhorn and Samut Songkram. This road will avoid the Nakhon Pathom-Ratchaburi section which is always slow. The route I mention will still be slower than only using Rama 2, but if you hate gridlocked traffic, I think that could be worth a try for you.
  10. How did they find people not wearing seatbelts? From when they wind their window down at a checkpoint? I best remind the in-laws if so as they often forget.
  11. The wife, mother in law and father in law all hand me things to read the labels asking what's in them. The main reason is the text is too small.
  12. When do you foresee people here will stop wearing masks? I wore them like a good boy and had my vaccines as told, but now it is no longer a pandemic I've done my bit for society. If people are scared of getting a cold we will never move on here. I had a meal/a beer with some Thai friends last week. The guy sat next to me told me he had covid the day after. Am I worried? No.
  13. I thought the point in masks now that covid is classed as an endemic is to protect yourself. Why should I have to wear a mask for the rest of my life because others are overly paranoid? I'm with the OP on this one.
  14. If it goes up more I think it would be sensible to do so. At the moment I'm driving everywhere as I want to go out and drive. Pilok is next on the list to get some nice twisty roads in.
  15. If it saves me something decent I'd be happy to try the b20, but there's zero incentive to use it at the moment. That's why I'm a bit confused with its current price when it used to be cheaper.
  16. 5 baht more? Ouch. That's an extra 400 to fill my tank. I was hoping switching to diesel was going to save me money.
  17. Excellent, thank you. I'll be interested to see what we'll be paying after that. I bought a diesel last month and using b7 at the moment as its the same price as b10/20. I really do wonder who would be buying b20 at the moment when it's the same price as b7.
  18. Does anyone know how long the diesel prices will stay at the current rate? I understand that money was lost as they kept the price lower than market value, but how long are we looking at now before we get market rates again? I can't find anything in English anywhere.
  19. If you want tourism to move on from the pandemic, you also need to move on from the pandemic and live life normally again. Get rid of those awful facemasks as they are not inviting at all.
  20. Not in the same area but Nakhon Pathom Immigration has also moved. A quick Google maps search will reveal the new location.
  21. Out of interest, do you have to do a pee test if the police ask you to? What are women expected to do? Crouch down with a cop watching?
  22. I can see why you posted this into the pub forum. All you're doing is trying to make people feel embarrassed for not wearing a mask when there is no longer a government mandate to do so. Yes covid is still around and many still catch it, but it is no longer the monster it once was. If you want to wear a mask, wear one. I do myself occasionally, but there's no way I'm changing my habits unless it becomes serious again.
  23. I know many who want to demask, but are worried about how others judge them. Your attitude just adds more pressure for the never-ending wearing of masks. Covid has been downgraded in severity and you are now overreacting.
  24. Do you know which way has fewer speed cameras?
