  1. Of course they will, they're always mad at the English. If you're talking about Buckfast though, thats rarely sold in pubs in the Scotland even. It wouldn't make it here unless TAT wanted to focus on attracting that demographic.
  2. It's an old photo. Boats are no longer allowed near the beach in that bay. The chaos all ensues behind instead.
  3. I doubt those stumbling out of bars will be the wine drinking types. They would be the down as many beers as you can along with shots type. Wine drinkers would generally be in better restaurants, drinking in a more civil manner.
  4. I'm surprised you haven't put some r20s on with a stiffer sidewall. As mine is an auto, I don't find the cornering as satisfying as a manual. At the same time I'm surprised how much grip the Ranger has. Before I bought one I heard trucks were death traps. In reality, the cornering is great and it's cruising speed is beyond the legal speed limit.
  5. I'm sure my Tiktok feed will still be full of many of those debaucherous acts. Unlike the netizens we always here about though, I wont be offended, and I ain't no snitch.
  6. I'm actually flying back in on the 1st May, so I'll get to see firsthand if chaos unfolds.
  7. Do you know if they are good at high speeds in a straight line? When there's no houses, schools or other cars on straight roads, I like to make hay while the sun is shining on long runs.
  8. I had a connecting flight through India once and on the shuttle bus from the plane to the terminal, someone decided to have a pee and let it slosh all over the floor of the bus. No one batted an eyelid apart from me who was absolutely disgusted.
  9. If you mean 9am that sounds like something I could get into when the time comes. Exercise, bed, then get up in the afternoon some time to continue the day.
  10. I see many mentions about getting up at the crack of dawn and going to a bar at 9am, but what about laying in bed til midday? Do older expats not enjoy this?
  11. Good to know. I've only done 45k on my Goodyear's so far, but I see some slight bulging on a sidewall and the rubber is starting to crack. I don't understand why when I mostly park in the shade or an underground carpark. I felt like they were decent for the first 30k and then they dropped off. As the KO3 are expensive, I'll have to have a think about it and check my finances after an upcoming holiday.
  12. Part of the main tread broke away on one of mine after a similar period. I know exactly what you mean by that U-turn chirp. I found raising the pressures gets rid of it, but I'd rather not do that unless I'm carrying a load. I always thought Maxis were a bad tyre and your experience adds more weight to this. The KO3s look great! It's good to hear that they handle well, but I'm a bit surprised as I thought they were mud tyres with no grooves to prevent aquaplaning.
  13. How's the noise? How slippery are they when it rains?
  14. I don't see any Michelin A/Ts with a rugged sidewall. This is something I'd like for when I drive out into the plantations. Regarding the Goodyear tyres, I find mine were soft for a couple of years, likely due to the sidewall height, but as they are aging, they are getting harder now.
  15. I think these wranglers are decent for day to day use, so I could always just go with the OEM tyres again. Can you recall how much it costs to put the wheels on the rims and balance them if you buy them this way?
  16. I only have one tattoo and it is part of who I am. I honestly don't care what others think about it. I really want two more but I'd need to stop traveling a bit to afford what I want.
  17. Hi Guys. I currently have Goodyear Wrangler highway tyres (255/65R18), but I'd really like some all terrains (For the sidewall protection and to look good). Does anyone use AT, not MT, that are relatively quiet and good in the wet? I don't want any tyre smaller than mine (like the 265/60R18) as I'd like the height for the wet season, but at the same time I don't want to lift the truck, nor buy new rims. I'm thinking Giti AT71, Toyo AT3, Falken Wildpeak AT4W, potentially in 265/70R18. Does anyone have experience with any of these who's willing to provide some feedback?
  18. My memory is very bad on this subject, so can anyone remember what happened with beer Lao and how Thailand managed to get around the ASEAN free trade area? They found a way round it to keep the price high. I wouldn't be surprised to see some clever tax labeling to 'reduce' the taxes on American products.
  19. I'm not the most tech savvy, but I guess he likely uses a VPN. I have one too but I don't know the ins and outs of them. Just that they change my location.
  20. I guess he changes his username regularly after being blocked by many posters time and time again. i enjoy reading his posts. They lighten the mood.
  21. It sounds like she wanted to take the credit for the party while you pay for it. If the kids ordered extra I'd pay for it, but based on what you described I'd have done something similar to you. I can't say what exactly as I've not had that happen to me yet.
  22. I thought in Thai culture, you gain a lot of face from being able to pay for everyone and you should feel good about being able to do it. When the family pop round, I don't mind being the head of the table and pay it all, every now and again, but in general they understand the bill will be split.
  23. Considering you seem to be using different numbers in each post on this thread, I don't think you'd know how much you spend yourself. Maybe it's because you're talking about pounds all the time rather than the currency we use every day here.
  24. You're clearly ignorant to your subjectivist falacy. Flooding causes a lot of problems around the country every year. You can't just dismiss it doesn't happen because your pond doesn't always full up.
