2m Baht Reward For Helping Trace YouTuber Accused Of Swindle
SoilSpoil replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Lately we are getting more and more requests from people we hardly know to bail them out of these ponzi schemes. If they make a last payment, they'll get their money back is the narrative. I think there are tens of thousands of people who gave been suckered into these 'get rich quick' schemes. Harsch times make make people vulnerable. We feel sorry for them of course, but cant, dont want, to help. The Thai household debt, both with banks or dodgy lenders, is at record heights. A lot of people have sealed their fates with a life in poverty as debt slave as result. You cant fix gullible, naive, uneducated, desperate or plain stupid. -
One of the reasons we are homeschooling our children. I have worked in Thailand as a teacher in the past, and made a promise to myself to never enroll my kids in the fascist Thai education system. The wacking is just one, but the non stop yelling, looking down on kids, millitary style morning assemblies, and so on, convinced me. My kids are happy, are able to express their feelings, have no fear to talk to grown ups, travel a lot and develop so many other skills. They study just 1 hour a day (full focus), thats all whats needed to keep up with the curriculum. Good luck to the dinosaurs

I bought 30 grams of ACDC weed for just 890 baht (how bizarre is that!). 15% CBD, 1 % THC, body relaxed, but clear head when smoked. I used it to make CBD oil and the result was superb, I got 200 ml of oil and a tablespoon makes me sleep like a log. The Thai brick weed, the 100 grams for 1,000 baht stuff, is ideal to make THC oil. Just be careful, as it's quite potent.

Thailand ranks 41st out of 66 for best destinations for remote work
SoilSpoil replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Remote working in Thailand is great with the 5/6 hour time zone advantage to Europe and the 10 to 12 to the US. Also, I pay just 10 dollars a month for a sim card that gives me fast enough mobile internet, so very flexible. Tax? Never paid it, home country doesn't want it as I don't live there anymore, and I certainly won't open Pandora's box here in Thailand. Work a couple of hours a day, grab a curry, and then off to the beach. For me: "Thailand number one"! -
I think you have no idea about the addictive nature of smoking cannabis. Loads of people start smoking first thing in the morning and smoke easily 10 or more joints throughout the day, totally zoned out and deprived of any form of motivation or ambition. You would think it's not rocket science to understand that those who purchase a kilogram of weed, will smoke significantly more than those who buy a couple of grams to wind down. Your bulk purchasing comment and comparison to beer is hilarious. I take it is meant as sarcastic.

As you can easily buy a kilogram of 19% THC Thai weed online, for less than 5000 baht mind you, it's pretty obvious that this whole Cannabis policy is a big farce. This can only go wrong. Smoking a joint is lovely, if legal, but having whole bricks to your possession will turn a lot of people in living zombies. It should have been regulated before opening up.

Pineapples are 15 baht where I live, bananas 30 baht for a bunch with at least 10 bananas. Local veggies are basically free, rice, eggs and soy are cheap, and with the economies of scale, schools should be able to provide a basic healthy meal for 20 baht. It takes effort and motivation, but it is possible. School don't buy bananas at the 7-11, nor do they give yoghurt with muesli.

Truths & Myths behind utilizing Kratom for energy
SoilSpoil replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Kratom is an amazing plant, white vein for energy, red for relaxation. It has anti depressant proporties. It is also s powerful painkiller, much better than its chemical brothers Tramadol or codeine. Using kratom tea or powder will be an eye opener for many people. It's not harmless, though, frequent use, will lead to dependence and the withdrawal symptoms can be an absolute nightmare and last for up to 10 days. Be careful with Kratom. Take it now and then, not on a daily assis. Just my experience.- 3 replies

Last year a man was bitten by a shark in Khao Lak near the lighthouse. He went swimming in the morning (big no).The story quickly changed from shark to whatever fish, not to scare tourists. Same for that saltwater croc around Phuket. What happened to that animal. Locals tell stories of croc sightings north of Phuket around Kho Phra Thong and the mangroves of Ranong. Much more dangerous are the 2 box jellies I saw with my own eyes on the beach in Khao Lak in July (rainy season). They are deadly and here. The ocean is not ours, so be careful.

Many consumer products in Thailand about to increase in price
SoilSpoil replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
The price of eggs hasn't increased the last half year, but the size has. We are getting size 3 instead of 0 or 1 for the same price. Also Nescafe Red has gone from 200 grams a bag (2 years ago) to 180 and now 160 grams. But the price stays the same. There is no inflation! -
Are there any tourists in South Chaweng? Last time I was on Samui it was empty. I know it must be hard for you to admit, but Samui has totally lost its appeal to Thais and international tourists. I didn't like it a bit, neither did the people we met on the beach who owned villas there. Lot of trashburning at night on the Lipa side. Is that garbage incinerator working by now? You know the one that the Japanese generously donated to Samui? Or is the garbage dump still growing and growing, polluting the groundwater? Yes, lovely island that Samui, if you can bear it. Come to think of it, I prefer a beach road with parking and access to clean beaches, and the crystal clear waters of the Andaman.
