  1. Depending on your LOCAL IO POLICY you might have to file a TM-30. Find out FROM your LOCAL ( REPORTING TO ) IO 90 DAY REPORT is do 90 days ( 5 days early ok MOST IO's ) after entry into Thailand. As soon as you pass immigration, it is day 1 of 90.
  2. I use the TEXTNOW.COM apk for my US BANKING. They give you a FREE US number ( in your choice of states ) and FREE service. NOTE - Free on ANY WiFi, Thai provider data charges if you are NOT on WiFi and out running around in Thailand. Have been using for 2 years no problems inbound or outbound VOICE or TEXT. I just found out 2 weeks ago, 'call waiting' also works with the service - you will hear a beep every 3 seconds. NOTE: USE the service or LOOSE the service. I suggest at least 2 calls to the US a week. Also, you can port your US number to the service if still active and portable. They also have various paid and FREE programs in US including a FREE ( 1 time charge of $4.99 for sim ) SIM number and service in US.
  3. TM-28 is NOT "officially" required for 2+ years, BUT a few LOCAL offices require, check your LOCAL office POLICY With a TM-30, if you have not "moved", no "official" need to file, again check your LOCAL office POLICY - some require IF you leave Thailand.
  4. Many foreigners do NOT know that they can use a Thai Military Hospital once you are registered at THAT hospital. Many doctors are US or UK trained, English is usually not a problem. COST: you pay the SAME cost as Thai civilians using the military hospitals. It is slightly more expensive than govt civilian hospitals, way way less than a private hospital.
  5. IF you have a Windows based computer and know a little bit about HTML and also higher level programming - to modify, ANALOG X website has "simple server", you can host a private website on the home computer accessable by number, NOT domain name xxx.xxx.xxx
  6. If I am not mistaken, up to ..5.. days early. I saw a person ( in fron of me ) turned away IN BANGKOK several years ago, trying to do 6 days eary. Be sure, ask your LOCAL IO what their policy is.
  7. If you have a computer with a DVD BURNER and or a HDMI input ( You can download free copy and burning software ) you can copy to your hard drive, then burn to DVD. Or a VIDEO CARD or ADAPTOR that has 3 video inputs OR if you have a HDMI INPUT port on video card, you can get a video to HDMI adaptor and save to hard drive then burn to DVD. Adabtors usually cost under 500bt at LAZADA. There are other ways to do at home with a simple setup using a SD card.
  8. I have thought about MJ several times, BUT, I found a alternative TEXTNOW.COM offers FREE US phone number and FREE service anywhere your mobile has a DATA or WIFI connections. I use it for my banking as well as inbound / outbound calls - to USA NUMBER SYSTEM (XXX) XXX-XXX ONLY. In USA, they ALSO offer a FREE sim service
  9. I am a Yank, TWO reasons I live in Thailand: Rent- 2 BR House with Yard, garden in gated community $135-$140USD ( exchange rate ) a month,,,,in US my 1 BR apartment is now $800. Electric - ranged from $120 to $210 ( AC / Heat ) a month..most I have paid in Th with AC & TV,'s and etc around 12 hours a day $66USD. Seems very practical to get as much leasure / cost benifits as possible at 77 years old.
  10. My bank only requires a passport also. I have Thai iD's for other reasons - lived here 10+ years, they do come in handy at times
  11. Why not get a Thai ID. I have a Thai Military Hosital ID card ( Korat ) with name and photo, only passport need at no cost ( NOTE: some hospial ID cards do NOT have photos ) - yes a foreigner can use a Thai ( Army / Navy ) Military hospital, many doctors in military hospitals are US or UK trained and speak good English. Also I have a yellow house book and ID card
  12. A TM-30 is required when you move from point A to point B within 24 hours. Once filed, usually ( DEPENDING on the LOCAL IO POLICY ) you only have to file if you change address even if you take a trip out of the country. Check with your LOCAL IO for their policy.
  13. I don't know if available for sim, I only use the apk.
  14. I disagree. I have a TX-6 box ( any brand ) that I fully enjoy. By choice I have 4 US stations ( 50+ US TV available if I choose to use a IPTV apk ), all the Thai stations, Japanese and Chinese English language, British stations, hundreds of movies. I also have many "old time" US Tv programs as well as some current programs to view, only 2 games, and many news apks. Run on a 42 inch TV with BT speakers onnected for better sound. I use on WiFi with great results.
  15. TEXTNOW is for a US number only.. inbound / outbound text and voice.. Works ANYWHERE you can connect to data OR WiFi. Cost is $0.00USD for UNLIMITED service. I use for US banking and calling friends. My number is from Kentucky (859) xxx xxxx , my US home
  16. Since you bought a roaming package consider TEXTNOW.COM. A FREE inbound / outbound number that's unlimited usage. I use it in Thailand for US Banking an US friends. Download the APK. I have talked to US for over 1 hour. Used service for2 years. It's a VOIP number that works on data or WiFi. anywhere you can connect to above. It has its own ring sound. Oh, they have a US SIM, also free mobile service - sim service ONLY available in US ( as far as I know ) I think sim cost is $5.00. You will need a US address to send the sim to. The service is ad supported, BUT small and does not interfere with phone calling. I don't know about the sim when it comes to ads. If you don't use the service you will loose the service. Call your friends / family in US as often as you want
  17. 15 days online,h usually 5 days in person unless there is a VERY GOOD circumstance to get done earlier. AGAIN it depends on the LOCAL IO policy
  18. File the TM-30 as POSSESSOR. Have supporting documents such as deposit receipts for utilities, rental agreement and etc.. You said "asking for months", a TM-30 must be filed within 24 hours of NEW address. Depending on the IO you probably could be subject to a fine for no TM-30 - have you done a 90 day report - could be a fine there if you have been in your place / Thailand 90+ days w/o a 90 day report. I have heard of only 2 times a IO held a landlord responsible and did not fine the renter. If you didn't know, YOU are responsible that ALL your paperwork is in order.......period!! Good luck to you and hoping you get a understandng IO - It DOES happen.
  19. You sign the report as POSSESSOR. A 90 DAY report is REQUIRED when you spend 90 days in the Kingdom..period. You can do up to 5 days early. Contrary to some advice, YOU are responsible that ALL YOUR immigration paperwork is up to date. As I have said before, a friend of mine was fined 23,000bt for paperwork NOT up to date, and also a "ding" in his immigration file.
  20. Submit a TM-30 ..NOW!! Do it as POSSESSOR. A TM-30 ....MUST... be filed within 24 hours of moving. Take ANY documents with your name and new address, utility deposits, WiFi deposit etc I always move on a Friday after 18;00 so I have until IO closing on monday to submit.
  21. To add to my post, I ALWAYS move on a FRIDAY night after 18:00. That way you have till Mondy IO closing to file the TM-30. As to landlods doing TM-30's some do NOT file them. In the years in this site I have heard of only 1 landlord that a IO called and chewed his @ss. YOU are responsible that ALL Immigration paper work is up to date. The excuse that "the landlord was supposed to do it" doesn't work. A sharp IO will catch things missing from your file. A friend of mine ( 12 years here ) ended up paying a 22,000bt fine for not having a TM-30 AND other paper work ( one was the old TM-28 ) not correctly filed.
  22. My 2ยข's. The mistake was LEAVING without PAYING the bar bill. They have long memories, and if she see's you walking by the bar, and a cop is handy.....trouble!!! I would be staying away from that area...period.
  23. Having lived in Thailand 10 years, and spent 4 years as a FTPA member, I have seen and heard much. WE are guests in this country, and should behave as such. It doesn't matter what Thai's do or for that matter anyone in the country - citizen or foreigner does - you do not skirt / break any Thai rules or laws. The "computer crime" regulations / laws are strict, and especially strict on what is considered - by ANYONE that files a complaint - "obscene" material. Since he is a regular streamer from Thailand, he should know this. Other things he could have been charged with include no work permit ( he probably makes money streaming ), improper visa and etc, etc, and etc American or not, learn and obey regulations and laws in ANY country you visit, stay or live in. There ARE some regulations I don't like or agree with, but since Thailand allows me to live here, I will obey the regulations / rules.
  24. The simple answer is to find out the POLICY of your LOCAL IO Usually a TM-30 IS reqired when you MOVE to a NEW address within 24 IO open hours. I move on a Friday AFTER 18:00 so I have till the following Monday BEFORE the IO. closes to do a new TM-30 and I always file as possessor with related necessary documents. Your landlord ( property owner ) is requied to file ( MANY do not ) ...BUT REMEMBER...YOU are responsible that ALL your paperwork is up to date
