  1. Rather than being a piece of paper the new TM6 will be an online document. Completion of departure information shouldn't be necessary prior to arrival, but would be required for departure by modifying the tdac used on entry. The auto gates for departure should only open if everything is in order, like the paper TM6 I can see many failing to complete the information before going to immigration. At a kiosk the IO will say what is wrong and either fill it in for you, or send you to the back of the queue. However if the gates just don't open, many will scratch their heads for 5 minutes before coming back out and going to a kiosk.
  2. People also ask How long did the Grenfell inquiry take? The 1,700-page report of the six-year public inquiry "sets out how a chain of failures across government and the private sector led to Grenfell Tower becoming a death trap".
  3. It was never a requirement to complete the departure portion of the paper TM6 on arrival, it was retained in the passport and could be completed on departure. Going to be interesting to see how the auto gates deal with those that forget to modify the online version prior to departure.
  4. The National Insurance Act of 1946 was intended to provide safety nets for the working population. However successive government have decided it was a tool to suit their agenda, cut when votes required and raise when strapped for cash. The system is now morally corrupt with jobs being used to fund gross mismanagement and a multitude of fraudsters and freeloaders.
  5. Aseannow is hardly a credible source. The Immigration site says "the system is now available", no indication it is a beta version. https://tdac.immigration.go.th/manual/en/faq.html What gets said will happen and what does is not always the same. Time will tell, that always does.
  6. Just before the quake the £ was 43.98, today it is 44.23. Not what i would call a "plummet". Insignificant compared to June 2016.
  7. Got there mid week, heading back down again.
  8. Mine was issued on 22nd July 2014 with expiry date 22nd July 2024. Previous passport was issued on 12th April 2010 with expiry date 12 Jan 2021. Application was made first week April 2014, I hadn' t been aware of the impending change and absolute chaos came about. Wouldn't be out of the question for processing errors to have occurred, may well have been the reality for a period of time.
  9. I could see the thread was about the 10 year ruling, in other words the Schengen legislation. Rightly or wrongly it appeared the poster in question was "quoting" from another source, but you felt you had to make an issue out of it.
  10. Exactly. I came back in Oct with TM30 from 2015. Done a 12 month ext and 2 x 90 days since then without any problem.
  11. Not very well it would appear. I have just tried it and it wouldn't accept Thailand as a country of Residence. Not that easy to complete, drop downs are messy and I can see many getting stuck on dates, unless they have come across that type of calendar before.
  12. There is always a knee jerk reaction to be anticipated. i was here during the tsunami, Pattaya filled up overnight.
  13. It is media sensationalism but has some substance. I have been coming down to Pattaya regularly since New Year and throughout that time it has been fairly difficult to get where you want, particularly at the low end of the scale. Last week when we booked for this week, before the quake, many were full up or down to last room. If you were ok with 2K+ then a lot more choice but we don't want to pay that just to avoid driving home. With Pattaya already fairly busy, wouldn't have taken many to fill up one accommodation segment and provide an excuse for a distorted headline.
  14. Yes, they do fly them empty, I came back on a flight from China and my wife and I were the only 2 passengers. They have aircraft committments and cancellation can cost more than low passenger numbers. First time I came back after covid, only about 50 passengers on a 380, superb, get stretched out across 4 seats. I doubt we will see much difference, I still get Skyscanner alerts for the flight I have in June, got one yesterday to say the price on Emirates was now 86K and offered an alternative on Air China at 55K, not bad for 2, BKK to Gatwick return.
  15. Why avoid the question and post irrelevant information. I have never ever made a transfer to Thailand using WIse, so again why do you think I did.
  16. You have to play the cards as you see them. Had I been in the same position I would have hung on and then gone to the UK whether I needed to or not. Never going to trust the cowboys again, the appointment at Liverpool was a lot less stress. Arranged for 17.30 on a Friday, came out about 18.30, a meal in Wetherspoon, then the overnight ferry to see a mate in Belfast. Passport came the following Thursday. However I think I am in possession of my last passport. Good luck.
  17. I am surprised you don't know the 10 year ruling is in respect of the Schengen area, not EU countries, but laid down by the EU. As Ireland never signed up to the Schengen agreement the ruling does not apply.
  18. In reality it ended before then. When I renewed in 2014 I was 6 years early as passport was full up and only got the 10 years on the new one.
  19. Not something that most would pay attention to. Main Thai exports into US are agricultural and electronics. Tariffs will push up the price to the US consumer in the short term from existing committments. Once imports reduce will US companies risk expansion when the next president may well remove the tariffs.
  20. If US consumers were so astute, why are they buying Thai goods in the first place. No business is going to invest in expansion because of import tariffs, a couple of years down the line they are likely to disappear. USD is being toasted by a red puppet, get used to it.
  21. The point in question was timing. There was a great deal of debate on this topic about 10/12 years ago with many claiming that head offices were holding up distribution to the branches. With Wise coming on the scene issue died out a bit. If 11 character or IBAN codes were to be used then there would be no head office intervention, it would be direct from remitting bank to branch account.
  22. Using the term in that manner is subscribing to the party line on the forum, but corruption and bribery are not necessarily one and the same.
