  1. Please stop posting here. The OP had a very serious question and it's great that people are helping others.

I'd say that I wouldn't like to have a son like you, you know why? No one wants a stupid kid.

    <<<<<<<Flame removed>>>>>>>>

I just think you are all naive believing criminals are getting a raw deal. Criminals will always tell you what you want to hear. I saw another BBC documentary about all these people who visited Myra Hindley for years believing she was forced into murdering about a dozen kids and then she confessed and told the Police where the bodies were. So good luck reforming scum and trying out all your newly learned university psychological techniques to make them change their evil ways. It's just another Western propaganda story telling you how bad things are in places like Thailand. If you're a good prisoner in Thailand the guards will even take you out to restaurants to eat, but not if you are a murderer or drug pusher.

Anyway if this girl wants to go to the prison just phone the prison and ask what the visiting hours are and then she can be entertained by all the cons masturbating when they see her.

  2. Oh, I thought claimed 113HP were at the rear wheel? Kawa looks less appealing now, but I still like the looks.

Anyways, I've just read some disturbing issues with Ducatis regarding the plastic fuel tanks + gasohol fuel.

The issue seems to be 2-3 years old so I'm hoping it's been taken care of.

How old is your 796? 2010-2011? Do you use 95 benzine or gasohol and if later, have you had any issues with plastic tank getting warped from contact with gasohol?

I will have to double check with Ducati dealer regarding their newer models.

95 benzine isn't as freely available as 95 gasohol, could be an issue while traveling.

Virtually all European and American bikes will need to use benzine. Only Japanese bikes as far as I know can use gasohol. It's not as difficult to find as you may think. Gasohol damages rubber seals etc. A lot of Caltex stations sell it also PTT and Petronas and small shops at the side of the road. I've never had any problems with my 796 but I've always used benzine. Most manufacturers state the BHP at the crank, but the both bikes will perform about the same in stock form because the Kawa is much heavier. However the Ducati will handle much better IMO.

Ritalin is used to treat Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). ADHD is a problem of not being able to focus, being overactive, not being able control behavior, or a combination of these.

Autism is completely different. Autism is a developmental disorder that appears in the first 3 years of life, and affects the brain's normal development of social and communication skills.

They are two completely different things. You need to apologize to the forum for even suggesting that Ritalin is a treatment for autism.

    Ignorance is bliss, huh?

Whatever just another "disease" conjured up by the West to keep people in work. How come it was only discovered in the last 30 years or something? Oh darling you're not stupid you have autism that's ok. No one wants a stupid kid.

  4. I've seen that bullshit video before. They are all there for selling drugs! Thailand has a very relaxed judicial system and every year the King pardons many prisoners, but not for drugs. They can stay there and rot as far as I am concerned. They are maggots preying on society and anyone who wants to help these scumbags is a misguided bleeding heart clown.

  5. Does she visit inmates in Holland? Go and visit one of the children's homes instead and give them some toys and sweets instead of seeing some bitch that's probably been locked up for dealing crystal meth.

She works with autistic children in the Netherlands and had just completed 3 months of volunteer work with severely handicapped children in Mai Chau, Vietnam. That's her!

Whatever her reasons may be, just don't be quick to assumed.

I posted a question and expected a helpful reply but not unsolicited comments from armchair pundits!

    Thanks, nonetheless!

Sent from my GT-N7105 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

When I was growing up there was no such thing as autistic children. They were just dumb <deleted> and got a good thrashing off the teacher instead of being filled full of Ritalin, but I guess it gives someone a job. Labeling a kid autistic brands him for the rest of his life. About 90% of women in prison in Thailand are there for selling meth. They are scum and deserve everything they get. I have seen families completely destroyed by this shit.

  7. I do not know this shop on FB but they do come up from time to time

    via another feed I have

They seem to have sales on Shoei, Nolan, Arai etc.

    https://www.facebook.com/tchelmet

Maybe he's importing from Japan and getting a good exchange rate or they are Chinese copies. Who knows? They are not the latest designs and are on closeout in the US. I would only buy from a real shop. Any professional rider would only use Arai, Agv, Bell or Shoei unless they were being sponsored. Tiger woods always used a Titleist golf ball with a Nike stamp on it.

I know a few people who bought all sorts of parts cheap only to find out they were fakes.

  8. Sorry, your are right

I thought per ror bor=road tax + 3rd party insurance

So, with a unplated bike and no book but 1st class insurance cert from aa or whoever, what happens when the police decide to confiscate it?

If insurance and tax isn't the same thing then legally are you not screwed anyway?

(excluding bribes) any cop who takes a shine to your illegal bike can just take it off you??

Or maybe im wrong and there a loophole?

Ps: i have heard insurance companies will take your money gladly for any bike but if there's a crash they will weasel out of paying because the bike is illegal for numerous reasons etc..

If you have a customs receipt the Police cannot confiscate your bike. Obviously your friend does not have a customs receipt so he is phucked.

    BTW which KTM is it?

  9. Thanks everyone for your advice. I actually haven't even bought the motorbike yet but will get one as soon as I have time. Knowing that getting up to Khao Yai this way is being done by others have given me more incentive to do the trip. I can't wait.

If you haven't bought a bike yet why don't you rent one first. All bikes are not created equal and if you really like it I can assure you that you will want something a bit more powerful to stay ahead of the traffic.

  10. They've got all the Scorpions too.

    Thanks ATF

Yes that is a good store too.

Will probably be using Revzilla only because they have a free shipping special to

my home state which is rare in the US wink.png

Shipping is free over $40.00 If you are looking for boots Alpinestars are made in Thailand now. Paddock in Bangkok sells them cheaper than the US.

  11. Mind asking what kind of helmet you want to buy that you cannot get in Thailand (or Bangkok) ?

    Scorpion EXO R2000

    Not available in Thailand

I had been very curious about this helmet seeing 17 MotoGP riders wearing it now

When I was in the US I finally got to try one & was really very impressed with features,

    quality,fit & air venting etc.

I want the Dispatch color scheme

Saw the matte black which was also quite nice but not for me.

PS: Yes on Shark they do make a nice helmet too.

Tried their top of the line carbon helmet today here in Chiang Mai

    Nice helmet

http://stores.sportbiketrackgear.com/StoreFront.bok They've got all the Scorpions too.

  12. On a helmet you'll most likely get hit for 35-40% regardless of whether it's marked as a gift- what you can do is put a lower declared value on the customs label and make sure your daughter doesn't include the original invoice inside the package- the only potential drawback is that this limits your insurance coverage if it gets lost as the declared value is the max you can claim (though this has never stopped me from doing it).

RSD is correct GIFT value $25.00 you'll pay less than 1000 Baht. Some Ebayers will do this for you but Sport Bike Track Gear will ship to your daughter for free and they have a great helmet selection. Send USPS Priority or Express both have online tracking, can't get lost.

  13. Shipping in parts will not help if you want to get it registered. It is extremely difficult to import used bikes. The only loophole which may be open to you is if the bike was in your wife's name and there may be a possibility that she can import it as a vehicle used while living overseas. However the process will be very complicated and drawn out. There are other members who will be able to better advise you and maybe you can get it imported but the time and cost involved probably won't be worth it. Ask your wife to check the Thai Customs website or email them about importing a vehicle used overseas. Forms will need to be submitted before you import it.

In this case the OP clearly stated that he understands it would be impossible to register the bike, so the usual sermon does not apply.

However, also shipping in parts would be very expensive and risky, and Thai customs would certainly smell the coffee and demand an hefty ransom at some point. Shipping the bike out would not be a problem.

I don't think YOU read the post. Most likely does not mean impossible and how would shipping be expensive if he is bringing it in a container? Thai citizens are allowed to bring a vehicle into Thailand from overseas if it was used by them and then they have to keep it in their name for three years before selling it. However you can drive a bike without a green book provided you can show a customs receipt. If you can't you risk having the bike confiscated by the Police, so shipping in parts and then assembling a bike in Thailand is a no no.

I am not sure you can legally drive a bike with just a customs receipt...

Every vehicle on the road must have por ror bor 3rd party insurance and not displaying it is a crime

How exactly do you get por ror bor for an unregistered bike?

My friend has a lovely illegal imported ktm he cant even ride because the fixer hasn't been able to get him a book for it

He would be very interested if there's some legal way he can use that bike without being open to huge liabilities?

Whether the bike has had the import tax paid or not 1st class insurance can be purchased for the bike, this should include Por Ror Bor but not road tax, but Por Ror Bor is not necessary if he has 1st class insurance anyway. They just take the frame and engine no. and some pics. He maybe able to get a red plate from a friendly dealer, road tax is not required if you have a red plate. The fixer should surely be able to arrange a red plate. Then he won't get hassled. Job done until his green book arrives. If he can't produce a customs tax receipt and he rides without a red plate his bike could be confiscated.

The issue is this is nearly avmillion baht worth of bike and it was brought in as low value "spare parts" only 6-7k taxes paid

The fixer guy promised a green book and bkk plate for extra 80k about 2 years ago but he refund the 80k and said the whoever that used to make the books can't do it anymore so my friend has an expensive bike that can't be ridden except at night or with police friends on weekend trips

I think you are getting PRB mixed up with Road Tax. You can't buy Road Tax without PRB. Get a red plate and 1st class insurance no Road Tax required with red plate.

  14. I have an imported Monster 796 ABS which I bought for Xmas 2011 and have really loved it. Doubt I will ever sell it. It is such an entertaining bike you can weave in and out of traffic with ease. I haven't ridden the Z800 but I did consider the Z1000, but it was just too heavy. The Z800 is 40 kgs heavier than the 796 even though it claims 111 BHP. 796 84 BHP at rear wheel 87 BHP at crank. I've got my 796 up to just under 100 BHP at the rear wheel which is the same as the discontinued 1100 EVO and dropped 20 kgs of krap. Decided to go with the smaller engine due to overheating problems I've had in the past. Major advantages for the 796 is it's air cooled so you won't get hot air blowing on your legs at the lights. Never overheats and has a Single Sided Swingarm. A lighter low end high torque bike will give you much more everyday fun than a high end high torque high revver. You can also change the body panels easily without painting if you need a makeover. The 796 will put a smile on your face and for all practical purposes has just the right amount of power. If you ride solo 796 all the way but if you ride two up highway riding I'd consider the Z1000 or Diavel.

Been thinking about adding a 1290 SuperDuke to my stable but 180 BHP at crank 150 BHP at rear wheel. I don't like being lied to considering the price. Hope this helps. Don't buy a 795.

  15. So would it be easier to transfer ownership to my wife's name and then bring it in with the rest of the household items, if so what would be required to do this?

Shurup is right there is a time frame involved. You need to go to the Thai Customs website and check for yourself. In the UK you used to be able to back date vehicle ownership, don't know if you can do it now.
