The embassy refusal letter states that they were concerned that my partner would not return home even though she has a mentally and physically handicapped child who is in a home /  in chonburi,.

Did she stipulate this on the cover letter, i.e. were immigration aware of this ? I believe that's their main concern - justification that the visitor will return back to Thailand due to ties. When my wife first did her visitor application ( before we were married ) she had her boss write a letter saying she was expected back to work on x date. She also showed her house deeds, but I'm sure an ongoing rental agreement would suffice.

    +1

I've had wood flooring, doors, kitchen islands built from my own design there when doing up my  apartments.

    “Phuket's postcard-perfect beaches after”

they obviously weren’t on Kata beach this morning. The southern half of the beach was a mass of trash. Only one lady cleaning it up.

I was always taught to help old ladies - then they'd been two ???? - carries on like that who knows where it would end up - clean in no time.. ????

Stop being a baby. We've had heaps of weekends there. We wear 2 masks each. One standard medical grade mask that most people wear and an N95 on top. Never caught covid.

God you're hard - do you carry a stick to keep your distance...????

  5. We're in England at the moment as I'm English(British passport) - my wife is Thai and applying for ILR(BRP card).

I also have an Irish Passport.

Following this up I came across the following:

    https://europa.eu/youreurope/citizens/travel/entry-exit/non-eu-family/index_en.htm#residence-doc-yes-non-schengen-to-non-schengen-1

Looks like a visa is still needed but the visa for entry should be faster and free of charge.

    Thanks for the input.

Anybody that has actually done it I'd still love to hear your experience/process.

    Regards

  6. Hi

    We're currently in England.

It's looking more and more unlikely we'll be getting back to Thailand this year due to the restrictions, therefore we're looking at alternatives in Europe until hopefully we can get back in Jan'

I have an Irish passport(& British), my wife a Thai passport.

Has anyone had any experience re entering Spain on an Irish (EU) passport with a Thai wife without a visa e.g. what documents are required, questions asked etc ?
As an Irish passport holder my wife should be able to travel freely with me around the EU I believe without a visa ( maybe a max 90 days )

I've looked at the Spanish Embassy website, but they don't seem to have webchat etc.

    Thanks in advance

Thailand is not the only country to close bars and pubs they did the same in the UK, so don't act like its a strange strategy its proven strategy even in alcohol loving UK. If they close pubs over there (and they have) it must work because there must be good reasons to disturb the pub culture there. Nobody would dare to touch it without good cause

They closed down the hairdressers at the same time. - we had to make sure people didn't go and get their hair cut.( you know what can happen in those place - with all those old girls getting a wash and dry ) ... ????

I paid nothing - and never would do.

My wife is university educated - a doctor at a private hospital in Bangkok.

I think her parents were quite happy and never expected anything.

We sent them a pic from Bournemouth beach on a gloriously sunny day yesterday though - surely more than enough for anyone. ????

The way I look at it is quite simple - I look after my wife not her family. Doesn't mean I don't pay for dinner when we all meet up.

I don't see how the phone provider, by which I presume you mean the network provider can get my location - not through their network as there is no signal here at all.

All mobiles are stored via last known location / GPS. The location signal doesn't matter unless you want to be more accurate - you turn that on and it will tell you the weather in your village.

How many are you talking about - maybe a dozen or two ? I don't think the Thai government bases their policy on your possible circumstances.
