  1. What a genius. Of course there is pent up demand for holiday travels & even without TAT suggesting that they will "fix" it there will be a 4 fold increase over 2021/22 figures unless another disaster strikes the world. Putin of course could stick a spanner in the works & then any predictions will be just that & nobody may travel ever again. I am a real cheer germ today am I not ?
  2. No surprise here at all as the average Thai who drives fast just has no idea how long it takes to stop a fast moving vehicle or what action needed in the event of a skid of slide. The pick up manufacturers are also at fault here as the ability with modern engines to travel at high speeds are certainly not matched by their braking ability in particular on the cheaper models. Speeding at 170KPH in a pick up or car that still has only drum brakes on the rear is a classic example
  3. Could be a 3rd party problem so have to be careful before blaming the restaurant. We went & had dinner at the Barges Restaurant ) long gone but was credited with being largest restaurant in the world). 3 of us had "Phuket" oysters. They were fresh & still alive. Violently ill, turns out farmed by a sewer outlet
  4. I do not think it is that bad an action to warrant removing the teacher. Maybe the kid has forgotten countless other messages that should have got home
  5. This kind of accident happens in many countries. The Thai bashing on here has some merit but kids sometimes just do not listen. In the UK & NZ there have been some tragic accidents similar to this one, mainly on country roads as most kids in the city do not have buses put on for them
  6. Guinness is now poured everywhere by using Nitrogen as the agent. You cannot use Co2 as it is is absorbed too quickly into the product & would create far too much head. I still think the draught is trucked up from Malaysia & used to be made under licence by Anchor Brewery. Cannot see how can sell at 220 pint if comes from Dublin knowing the freight rates on a 20ft container. Would appreciate any confirmation on this
  7. I agree with Robin. If not too much of a hassle get a Non 0 before leaving as you have time. Make it a lot easier to open a bank account close to where convenient & once money seasoned can apply & obtain visa for 12 months. (Don't forget rentry permit) From there just gotta plan your trips to ensure here in the country for next 12 months extension. That is plan A.
  8. We all know that each precinct has a big a big pryamid. Just ask any bar owner what they budget each monh
  9. Just ensuring they get their % ? Did they really need to take a whole regiment to go see a few (hopefully girls) hawking their fork ?
  10. Mirror, mirror on the wall........now there is a job I could do
  11. I have said before & will say it again Immigration has the right all around the world to deny entry to who ever, for what ever reason they see fit. There is no such thing as "illegal non entry" If you ever are in this position good idea to take a long hard look at yourself to see if you are abusing some priviliges
  12. What that statement means is "Their slate is clear & 80% has been forwarded upwards as per our instructions"
  13. If the red flags are flying there should be no need for life guards. Can't help stupid (at least they got a warning & chose to ignore it
  14. Is it not up to the Juristic Committee to appoint a Manager ?
  15. Next time charge her 20 Bht more for a NEW bowl (non refundable) And I thought I had bad days
  16. Try mixing some Epoputty, but only if never need to take apart
  17. This "visitors" in hospital policy needs overhauling anyway. Far too many relatives wandering around public areas & wards like it is a carnival. The private hospitals "extra bed" allowing a wife, boyfriend etc to stay overnight I am not sure is a good idea either. Sometimes when not feeling "top of the world" good to have time to ones self
  18. With all due respect Mr PM, I live here & the cruel carnage going on, literally on your doorstep is is a big deal. I posted details here but was taken off due my being very real about the situation. I can post recent photos that are just horrible what is going on but they will not pass the censor. The toothles tiger ASEAN just watches the unnecessary killing & maiming by a Junta that should be overthrown as they are scum in any society.
  19. nchuckle Time you ugraded your info & trotted along to a Honda dealership. The iconic Jazz I see, is no longer
  20. Just to correct some of the comments on here as believe me, it is no joking matter if you live here as I do. Dead bodies are being left by the river for the Thais to give a decent cremation. Tha Government has taken in 400 + refugees yesterday & given access to medical care, many of whom are injured by Burmese Junta bombs delivered by Chinese supplied drones. Ordinance we fired by same into Thailand yesterday. I cannot confirm but told China had supplied two Helicopter gun ships to help the Burmese Junta in the fight. Thai air force flew yesterday for many hours along the border & again today. Went to Mae Sot today where a bomb went off, not 500 yards from the border. Thai Army is on full alert & orders have been issued to protect Thai borders in the event any further incursions by the Burmese Junta forces. Can update if anybody interested
  21. Caveat Mentor Ask the questions before signing 5 units I have rented in Bangers the electric bill came direct from the supplier
  22. With that amount of piling required they should be looking at an alternative form of construction anyway. The land is obviously pretty hard, hence the percussion waves so there are at least two better ways to pile to avoid this
  23. I would strongly suggest good Sir, that before making these policies that you check with your crew first. Whilst getting tourists back will certainly refill you & your subordinates wallets cracking a smile to fulfill same is maybe just pushing the barrow a bit too much
