  1. you will be issued a visa for ninty days, in the last 30 days you can apply for a one year extension
  2. he hasn't gotten the extension yet, was looking to get an extension to stay until January 19
  3. his permission to stay will expire on December 19th so he will need to get an extension to allow him time to apply for the O, he will have plenty of time after that to take care of the money transfer
  4. can't find any regulation on lane speeds for the motorway, is it legal to drive at 120 in all four lanes on the Highway 7 Motorway or is that only for the two right hand lanes
  5. For the initial O it has to come from abroad, after that not
  6. His present extension expires on the 19th of December so he will need to get that thirty day extension, must have at least 15 days left on the extension to apply for an O, so anytime in the first fifteen days after you get that extension you can apply for an O visa as long as you have 800.000 in the bank and it has to show that it was a foreign transaction
  7. well one had to go down for the other to come up, just got my SS deposit today it was 7332 baht less than last month if that isn't a surge I give up, yes the baht surged because the dollar went down
  8. The only currency that I care about is the Us dollar,
  9. dollar down, baht up that is what I would call a surge when it is almost eight percent in one month
  10. No problems at all, I did an in an out, elected to let the Cambodian side take care of all of the paperwork, all fees, in and out plus visa was 2700 baht, Don't know if I could have done the in an out without an extra fee, back in 2017 it was 300 baht, I just elected to pay the extra and get it done so I could get off to Immigration and sign up for my O Visa, no more OA for me. Can't remember how long the drive was I live about fifteen minutes east of Ban Phe, took Sukhumvit 3 towards Chanthaburi and took a left I think it was less than an hour and a half. Would have been a real quick trip but the wife wanted to come with so she could donate to the Casinos
  11. In the last month the baht has gained 7.7 percent against the US dollar, now to me that is a major surge
  12. thinking about it I am not sure, when I get home tonight I will try not using my VPN, they are closed for business I think until eight tonite,
  13. I don't understand the comment that I don't have access too, its no different no matter what way you do it except you are wasting a lot of money for no reason it would go into the same bank account that you are using to do your monthly transfer, you are wasting 45 dollars a month times twelve.
  14. If you are depositing 65,000 or over every month for twelve months you don't have to keep any money in the bank, if you are using the money in the bank method it is 800,000 baht for two months before extension and three months after, then you can take it down to 400,000 up to two months before your next extension. there is no 80,000 baht rule for anything
  15. I just logged in this morning no issues
  16. I have been using direct transfers from Social Security to my Bangkok Bank account and this is acceptable for immigration, no issues whatsoever, will be doing again second week of December, money just has to show up in your bank from a foreign source you are wasting money if you have to pay for transfers every month, if you are getting them for free than good for you
  17. why don't you just have SS sent the funds directly to your Thai Bank and save some money
  18. yes it was registered, tracked it all the way to received. I am sure they got it but sent in a second set for both me and the wife to be safe.
  19. SS is starting to really <deleted> me off, sent first forms in for me and the wife in Mid July, last month they were finally received by an agent for SS. Today we both got our second notices, can't take a chance that they didn't lose them so sending in the second set tomorrow, they need to hire some more help our change their way for this stupid reporting system worse than 90 day reports - 555 Rant done time to crack a cold one
  20. Need to work with the IRS, I file taxes every year, is this something a dead man does?
  21. money has to be in your name only, no problem receiving large amounts with Thai banks, I have sent million baht transfers many times to Bangkok Bank and never an issue
  22. Bangkok Bank will do six month statements on the spot, so what I have done is at six months get a statement and after another six months get a statement, Rayong Immigration had no problem with this
  23. just looked at the Chicago website and the only visa for over 50 and not married to a Thai is an OA, which will require insurance along with all the other requirements, you do not want to get this for just a 90 day stay, do as others have suggested, tourist visa or come in visa exempt
