  1. how old are you and how much would you be receiving per month for SS. Do you have other savings, is your health good.
  2. I always get a yearly statement, I asked the bank to start sending me credit advices for each transfer, they talked to the main office in Bangkok and said they could do monthly email credit advices, still have not received the one for March but it has only been three working days, will wait for one week and go back in if I have not received one.
  3. and that is for 30 eggs
  4. In that case a credit advice for each months deposit will be required, more paper work
  5. They set me up for automatic email credit advice statetments. The new code for them was a little confusing, no one new anything about it had to contact the main office in Bangkok to get info. Strange that the sms I got says Prompt Pay, I don't use prompt pay.
  6. Went to Bangkok Bank today, to take out my monthly transfer. US Social Security money which is routed through the NY Bank. Since 2016 it has always shown as FTT, today the code showed up as TPP, had the banker call Bangkok to see what is up with this. Apparently they are changing over to TPP, hope Immigration is made aware of this. I use the monthly method.
  7. Does the credit advice come to you automatically or do you have to go to the bank and get one. Also is this free or is there a monthly charge for it?
  8. Just got an SMS mesage that my March SS payment has been deposited. I use Bangkok Bank with direct deposit from the NY Branch by ACH. Deposit seems about 1000 short. The SMS message says Prompt Pay transfer to your account via IBANKING. Never received this type of message before has always said Deposit/transfer to your account via AUTO. Anyone else experience this? I will be going to the bank tomorrow to see if they can explain the difference. And hopefully it still says FTT, as I use the monthly method for Immigration.
  9. If you do the ACH method throught Bangkok Bank in NY the code is always FTT
  10. If you leave shortly before it expires and come back after it has expired no problem
  11. If the spouse has low income it would be advantageous to file jointly because you would get 65,000 deduction for her and if she has Thai health insurance and or life insurance you can deduct up to 100,000 baht on your return, my wife has no assessable income so I can add her onto my taxes and this year I can bring in an extra 140,000 baht tax free.
  12. look at the tax tables, first 150,000 is tax free, single or married, I just filed last week with the spouse and didn't need the extra 150,000 as she had no income. Wanted to file single but they insisited on filing joint,
  13. Yes, but if they both filed seperately they would each have 150,000 of 0 tax
  14. She would be better off filing on her own, would owe zero taxes. If filing joint have to add the incomes together and only get one 150,000 tax free benefit
  15. Because they didn't get caught
  16. I knew before going that with my deductions and exemptions I would owe nothing, and that is what it ended up as I owed nothing. You will also owe nothing. Relax and enjoy your life.
  17. Going to guess that these would not be going out to US citizens as they would have been filed out when opening there accounts, at least I had to in the past.
  18. I know that, I was just commenting on a post that said the thefts were in the daytime when one was at night
  19. Would say my circumstances here would be quite normal, remit one pension that is assessable and subject to filing taxes and one pension that is not assessable so need to claim, 77 years old.
  20. like I told you earlier just go to the tax office and let them do it, very fast process you will be in and out quickly, they will print out a copy for you and mine even gave me a reference number to use next year
  21. have them all in fact I have two baseball bats that I brought from the US
