    Joe, I understand that, but when you are on an extension of an OA visa with a reentry permit as far as I understand you would never get an additional 12 months only stamped in until the expiration date of your extension. Am I missing something, I have been on an extension of an OA for six years and except for my original entry with the OA visa I have always just got stamped in until extension expiration date.

    you only get stamped in for the validity of your insurance policy

    Yes you automatically get the letter when doing it at the Embassy in Thailand, think he is going to have to go to the Embassy and have them make a letter, will have to make an appointment, not sure if they are going to charge him for that or not, normal documents they charge $50.00, would like to think they would do that for free

    I think this only applies to visas obtained at a Thai Consulate, just had a friend of mine try to use an International insurance policy at Rayon Immigration and they refused him, had to purchase another one from the Thai list, and yes he did have the required letter from the Insurance Company, would be interested to hear if anyone has gotten an extension with an International policy
