Thai Government Prepares to Recruit Thais to Address Labor Shortage
Paul Henry replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Don't see how level of education has any bearing on wages for labouring jobs. Incentives should be based on productivity and performance. -
Look at the basics. The police are there to up hold the law and enforce those laws. the problem is that from the top to the bottom the Thai police have no idea what the laws are. They view their job as a means of making an income to look after themselves and family. Until values of law enforcement are instilled into the whole of the police departments it is just another job. Education and intelligence are not a prerequisite and are not a requirement to be a police officer. Buy yourself a job and continue with a system of complete ignorance.

If Thailand has a false start and open to early and we see a big rise in Covid cases of both locals and tourists they can expect a big drop off in tourist numbers following a debacle. It will then take a lot longer to recover the tourists trust and dollars. The Thai tourist industry and associated businesses cannot stand a prolonged delay in the arrival of future tourists. TAT to propose just one Covid-19 test for foreign visitors to Thailand
Paul Henry replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
If TAT/Govt are serious about attracting tourist and they want them to have a Covid test on arrival the Govt should make the test free. This will attract tourist and the Govt will make up any costs by way of the tourist being attracted and spending money. I know this is foreign thinking to the Thais they still want every tourist ripped off from the minute they pass through immigration. TAT definitely needs some good marketing people to run the place. -
A fool and his money is soon parted! The Thai government does not realise that wealthy people are wealthy because they do not fall for the gilded lily "bulls**t. The have a brain that functions and will not be conned by some smooth real estate salesperson. The will look for stability and medium to long term returns that are not a floating risk.

With the vast amount of money spent on flood mitigation over the last few years this should not be a regular event. Poor planning and engineering and many brown envelopes are the reason Pattaya has to put up with this disgrace for city planning. Many countries and cities all over the word manage floods but then again the money goes to getting the best job done.

Krabi eyes 500k Russian tourists, despite dual pricing concerns
Paul Henry replied to webfact's topic in Krabi News
Thailand's tourist down turn is OVER. Yesterday half of India coming to holiday, today 500,000 Russians and don't forget the article a few weeks back that the Chinese will flood back to Thailand as well. Glad to see they don't need the rest of the worlds tourists as all accommodation will be booked out and money will flowing in the streets. -

Health and Foreign Mins unite to acquire more vaccines
Paul Henry replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Sounds like the NCDC has already made up their minds to approve SputniK V according to the statement made. Regulatory authorities normally meet to assess the vaccine and then give approval or deny registration on the information supplied by the manufacturer.
