  1. Should be obvious to see because automatic transmissions will show the currently selected gear somewhere in the dash while a CVT doesn't. ATs usually also have a manual mode.
  2. Some CVTs fake the sensation of gears. I know the Honda Civic had such a feature for example. It would just clumb through the revs and then jump back down for no mechanical reason just so it sounds and feels like a real gear shift. Some people might also mistake a CVT shifting gears because especially with lower torque ones they tend to jump to higher revs if you want to accelerate as they need the revs to make any kind of power and then quickly rev down again to get into a more efficient RPM range. That jump up could be mistaken for a down-shift and conversely the jump down in revs could be mistake for an up-shift.
  3. Who is cherry picking here? The people who focus on a single quarter or the people who take into consideration the broader context and longer timeframes?
  4. Completely misleading title and article. The UK had a much more massive decline the quarter before and are now on a rebound. The EU declined less so doesn't need a rebound of that size. Remember Growth is always relative. If you look at longer timeframes then the UK is massively lagging behind the EU. That's not from some EU source but the UK parliament. I hope the UK can step up its game. *looking awkwardly at Germany*. Source https://commonslibrary.parliament.uk/research-briefings/sn02784/
  5. Just a nitpick but it's Chrome, not Google. Or Google Chrome. But Google itself usually refers to the search engine not the browser. Might help in the future if you have some issue and are... googling for an answer 🙂
  6. Dealers are the wrong place for such restrictions. They can sell to people who don't even have a valid license and that's totally fine. Licenses are the permission to ride on public roads. Companies can also buy bikes and companies can't have licenses. I know no dealer in Thailand who would hesitate to sell a bike to someone unexperienced. I have bought 5 bikes here and not once was my experience any talking point. And that's fine.
  7. Best example why cc is a stupid measure because any modern liter sports bike with less than half the cc will fly past that thing like it's a tractor with an anchor. Power is a much better metric. As mentioned Thailand already produces bikes that are compatible with EU rules which have the A2 license where a bike must not produce more than 47HP and must not produce more than 95HP when unrestricted. Another killer for cc based regulations are of course electric bikes which have zero cc.
  8. The one who asks people on a forum to lay out each and every fact of the trial. The one who asks for statutes. The one who hasn't bothered to read the indictment or charges but asks others to present them. The one using "Trump deranged". And the one who calls people names. You.
  9. Don't bother, Yagoda is a troll. Asking for someone to lay out a case against Trump on a topic about a case being run against Trump...
  10. Try to see if you can call or email the local embassy that handles the application. They didn't answer because he found no email to contact them and didn't provide any reason in the rejection email (which one cannot answer to as it's a no-reply address).
  11. WTF? The AI is going mad. A tragic event of a young woman dying and Thaiger/AseanNow can't be bothered to write a proper article. For shame.
  12. CCs don't mean too much. kW/HP is what would matter. They could just copy the rules from the EU and be done with it. At least then they would have already aligned with the manufacturers who developed models specifically around those rules.
  13. The prosecution has to present evidence to the jury. Known already or not doesn't matter. How else do you think this trial should work?
  14. In the OPs language which is the language of the forum it just means he came off and since he was not the taxi rider there's no reason to believe the taxi crashed. He could have simply fallen down while trying to dismount.
  15. Not worth it to get a lawyer at this stage. Don't sign papers that you don't understand. It would be a good idea to take a Thai that you trust so they can help with understanding the situation fully and also not looking like a lone guy that can easily be fleeced.
  16. Accidental or not it sounds like it was indeed your fault as you dropped the bag onto the road. Mandatory government insurance pays for smaller medical expenses which it sounds like that should be the case. So if they ask you to pay for that then check if insurance covered it or they'll just pocket that money. I hope you have made pictures at the scene or they might claim whatever damages the bike has. It can help if you can present whitnesses, maybe even the taxi driver. Or ask some of the shops if you can get the CCTV footage. This only matters if they try to make a big story out of it and ask for bigger than reasonable compensation. Could also help if you can show that they were somehow travelling illegally (do they have a license? did they wear a helmet? was the bike roadworthy? did they drive in a dangerous way or break traffic rules?).
  17. Makes no sense. The court case already happened, he already talked. He was convicted. None of the crackpottery gay sex or drug nonsense went anywhere as there's zero evidence. Just people on the other political side throwing slandering theories around.
  18. Impressive. Operated a 2 Billion dollar scam on the Facebook page of the Central Investigation Bureau. No wonder they got angry. Also hot damn must the CIB have many followers. 🙂
  19. Reporting trolls is not even ratting. Ratting usually involves some kind of betrayal of friends or people who belong to the same group. You are a stranger on the internet trolling people. If someone reports that it's not ratting, it's just house keeping - removing people who want to disrupt conversations and annoy others. If people don't do that then constructive people leave and things devolve into complete shttery pretty fast. There are other places on the web for that.
  20. Well that's how it's supposed to work. If you bait/troll people then people should report you for that. Maybe stop baiting?
  21. Holy crap that post is pure gold. So concise but working on so many levels and angles given the context. 🤣 🤣
  22. Being baited or being punished for baiting?
  23. Seems fair? To me the first sentence sounds like you abused the emoji system to harass another user and not as a genuine reaction to a post. I of course can't say for sure because I don't know the exact circumstances and posts but that's what it sounds like.
  24. It's not the features that are the problem, it's how some users use them that's the issue. You can abuse emoji reactions same as you can abuse text posts. That you use them "for the hell of it" and you admiting that you like to bait certain users shows that you abuse the features and should not be surprised if you get warned or suspended.
  25. I think it's fair to assume that Russia attacking NATO would be the start of WW3. All bets are off and I would not count on pensions anywhere, even in your home country. The primary objective would be to find a safe place where your life is not threatened. Second step would then be to see how one can have a life in that location but there are always ways to at least find some lodging and food if one is at all capable of doing something productive. I would not rely on the state or any other third person taking care of me apart from maybe family. So money transfers etc would be not high on my list of concerns as long as I am a bit prepared. In fact I always think it's good advise to not rely too much on others and to always have multiple options.
