I had my implants done at Phyathai in Sri Racha by a specialist. 40,000B each. I'm still alive and my implants are still attached to me and doing what they are supposed to. Cant quite see what extra I would have got by paying three or four times as much.

 
It could be changed - with the right money and sufficient will. The military has already made some progress in Phuket and Hua Hin although there is still a long way to go  to deal permanently with the vested  interests.
 
But the potential of Pattaya for high-end tourists, with its proximity to Bangkok, is irresistible. The new motorway infrastructure and proposed high-speed train service etc could make this little corner a gold mine to the establishment mega-billionaires which is 90 mins or less, door to door from Bangkok.
 
Clean up the beach, take a bulldozer to Walking Street and most of the riff-raff beer bars on Beach, Second and Third road, and start over. 
 
With 30 million tourists a year coming to  Thailand - and rising - it's a win-win business venture if they ever get all their ducks in a row. 
 
There is already a number of high-end hotels here - Hilton, Holiday Inn etc. and  It's only a matter of time - be it five years or twenty years, one day it will happen.
 
Maybe the alleged implosion of Walking Street will speed up the process....

I find it funny that people post on facebook telling the world they were glad they spent their childhoods riding bikes and climbing trees.
Irony is a wonderful thing.
It also makes me smile to think of people bashing the keys on their computers harder than they would normally do because they don't like a post that has been made.

There certainly are some that exist just to expose any weakness or perceived shortcoming in other posters. But then again, publish your opinions and voila you will have critics. In some ways it is good for your character to learn how to either ignore them or reduce them to ashes.
