  1. Have to agree with the other posters. We put PVC guttering (brown not white but it is cheaper) around our older house and a new garage. It is a much better look than the old metal gutter and what the blue pipe would look like. If that does not matter to you okay and do it the dodgy Thai way with the blue pipe. Unfortunately the do not have the aluminium gutters here.
  2. Is there a time limit on calls for the month or as long as you like.
  3. Tokays can make a lot of noise especially when chasing another one. But if it was them you should have heard their calls.
  4. Good thinking, especially as you have insurance.
  5. I will disagree with that. As I said they grossly over service what is needed.
  6. Sheryl knows her stuff but Rutnin is over serviced and horribly expensive (unless an Arab Sheik) because of it. I have been advised that I need a vitrecomy to clear my floaters. Having had one done there it would be an absolute last resort.
  7. On reading your original post I agree, so asked the wife if the puu yai has said anything. We are a small village that has a Line account to let everyone know what is happening. But nothing on this so I will do it online for both of us.
  8. So did I (in Thai) but my wife said it was a scam
  9. Yes mate. I holidayed in Samui for 5 years before moving there and buying a bike. I had been riding them since I was sixteen but thought it better not to ride in Samui until familiar with the roads and traffic there. Still dropped the bike a couple of times due to loose gravel on the road but made sure I did not hit anything.
  10. When travelling with the wife we go through the Thai citizen area together. Would be interesting to know if the pink ID is sufficient if travelling alone.
  11. Thanks, it was 2 years ago that I tried. As I said before had to go to a branch to get it done. Maybe CBA are upgrading themselves. They also now have competitive AUD-THB transfers with no fees, the opposite of what they were before.
  12. That is interesting. Are you receiving the net codes on an Australian number or a Thai number. I could not set up net codes for a Thai number with CBA. Actually it was difficult to do with an Australian number and required a visit to a branch.
  13. With regards to the insulation foam on the underside of the metal sheeting, you could have some problems with discolouring and breakdown after a few years if you use a cheap one. We have just built a garage and used the insulated sheeting that had a lining under the insulation. Probably more for cosmetic reasons but looks a lot better that the exposed insulation. Large windows on all sides will mean that it is not energy efficient even with being open.
  14. Yes, I agree to a degree, but Warne had a "colourful" past in similar situations if you really want his history.
  15. That has always been an option 1. Thank you for enlightening me on the possibility.
  16. Maybe I would prefer that the government does not know I have a Thai address.
  17. " from home" do you mean through the Embassy here in Thailand with the passport sent to a Thai address or online in Oz and sent to an Australian address. I need to renew mine before the next extension so clarification would be much appreciated.
  18. Have not been there over 10 years and liked the place. Your pictures are truly tragic compared to what was there back then.
  19. So car parking, utility spaces etc are to be part of the 10% as well as multiple floors of entertainment. It is going to be a big casino.
  20. Don't worry, the poster has still not got over being a rabid Covid supporter.
  21. I have been advised that there is no such thing as a Notary Public (like they are called at home). You need to pay a lawyer to certify signature/documents. No idea if Immigration would accept that.
  22. Can someone tell me why bitcoin mining is illegal in itself.
  23. There are many inconsistencies in the New Testament, e.g. one gospel says that the family took Jesus to Egypt after the birth while another says they returned to Nazareth. This does not mean it is all rubbish as you will find errors in a lot of written history.
  24. This storey of a natural event (it may have been) has been around since I was a kid. Some, or most, people have short memories.
