The fallout from Swissgate -- so much for tolerance
GreasyFingers replied to n00dle's topic in General Topics
You are right with this. The wife is normally happy to display the farang husband but I have been advised to step lightly for the time being. -
Yes, used one of those for a couple of years as 3BB would only connect fibre if there were 5 subscribers. Not the best speeds but will be okay for the short time you are there.

There are care homes on Samui too. Had friends in one, fairly basic but they were happy, not too expensive but the private hospitals are if you need them.

I have only had the problem with Kerry, probably 50% of the time. Flash are never a problem, but that might be because we live just outside the village of the courier.

When we bought the house my dear wife did that for all four tanks, bless her heart.

Thai Government plans digital shift for lottery sales

You have no idea. If a legal bookie accepts a wager of 100 to 1 he will pay you 101 as you say. The illegal bookies running the illegal lottery only pay 50 to1 (Samui) or 60 to1 uphere for what is a 100 to 1 chance on the 2 numbers. Go and ask them. -

Mate. your wife is having a lend of you. No bookie pays 10000 for a 100 investment where the odds are 100 to 1, they have to have a margin. She is probably telling you she puts 100 on when it is really 200 to get the 10000. -

You have changed your tune. You said the illegal lottery paid 10000 for a 80 baht investment (the government lottery price that gives you many chances, not just the 2 numbers), i.e. 125 to1 for a 100 to1 chance. You obviously have your numbers wrong, that is why the bookies pay only 50-60 to 1 for a 100 to 1 chance. They have to make money but no serious punter would take that return. -

You should be buying them at those odds every lottery. Excuse the directness but I do not believe that they pay at 99-1. never seen it anywhere. Is you wife a collector for the illegal lottery. -

I have not looked at this for quite a while but the illegal lottery only paid 50-60% of the actual odds of winning. Are you saying the Gov ones only pay 5-10% of the odds. -

They must be looking at a different synoptic chart to that shown on their website. -
That is interesting. I do not receive the old age pension but a NSW State Super pension that in their word is a "capped defined benefit income stream (CDBIS)" that did not need to be reported to the ATO. Recent changes suggest that it may need to be reported to the ATO but my tax accountant never did. Very interesting times. Keep up the good work.
