Anyone watch the All In Podcast with him last week. He was not the terrible person he has a habit of being. If he has roughly 50% then I could see him picking up another couple percent if he keeps behaving. Weird times and I'm thinking he may be our next President.

Why? Just asking a question and wondering if other got the same clarity when they stopped for a few days. Are you thinking about taking a break? Is it a bad thing to take a break? Do you have issues with others that are bored with the high?

It is odd how different people react. I know people that run races after smoking which I would find nearly impossible. And as the other poster mentioned, having sex stoned is not ideal in my case but to each his own. Odd, some posters seem to be upset with my experience. Strange... AseanNow is more a contest of how to be the most insulting( not you) which is sad a reflection on those getting a rush from it.

No, just a healthy person asking a question. Seems like the you and the posters above enjoy tearing down people. I feel much better now and as I stated , will be back to using but the break is pleasant. Have a nice day.

OOPs -Sorry. This was a reply to your first post on this thread. Need to get to sleep. Dog bit is funny. A few months back they wanted 40k baht for a prize fighting rooster they claimed our dog killed. Our dog does and has killed many chickens that get on our property but this was a kilometer away! They were too embarrassed to make the claim to me and went to the village head. He just laughed and basically told them they were reaching and sorry for their loss. As for the monk's, I was running fast past one today that he shouted at me. Am I supposed to stop and get to my knees when passing? Maybe he was just having fun with me. A couple in the area are drinkers which is odd but think that is rare. Most people here are cool but a few don't like me for some reason. Only a few and I have never said more than a few words to them. Makes me wonder but I get over it quick enough. Enjoy your posts.

I think most get this but you have no clue how the new tax regs will be implemented. That is why this keeps going full circle and I stated this on the first thread months ago. Everybody has to relax. In all likelihood this will amount to nothing for 99% of expats here. Mike keeps TRYING to clarify but it gets nowhere because he doesn't have a clue how it will be implemented. If it makes you feel better to assume the worst case scenario - up to you. Preparing for the worst outcome while ignoring the most likely is ridiculous. I can only assume Thais are pissing themselves at our insane fear. I know I am. These threads are hilarious and expect Thai government officials to come up with more scenarios that cause us to wet our selves for the pure entertainment value.

I think he is going to surprise many people. He has set the bar quite low which sets him up for success. Also, the competition is mentally challenged. It will be an exciting debate because both are unhinged. the <removed> mentally is superior by a long shot so Biden demise is almost a certainty. Trump during the last few weeks( possibly last few days) is seeming more Presidential. Hard to ignore his prior shenanigans...

Sure I'll be back using but it feels so good at the moment. Anybody feel this way when taking a break? It got to be too routine and wasn't really providing any pleasure so I stopped. It became nearly impossible to spend quality time in the evenings with my sober partner because I was in a veg state after 8pm. Also doing more and my to do list is actually shrinking. Filed my 2022 taxes! Probably 2023 this week and might add a new exercise room to the home. I wonder why booze has no impact on my motivation while weed really slows me down.

Do my fellow Americans often feel like this?
atpeace replied to GammaGlobulin's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I'm also a proud American. Yep 1968 was wonderful. The good old days of black having to sit in back of busses, Vietnam war, higher murder rate than the today, assassination of Bobby Kennedy and Martin Luther King... What a year. We have come a long way and hard to imagine dropping napalm on villages. Selective memory? I do it all the time so just saying you do also 🙂 -
Been having really bizarre dreams lately..
atpeace replied to bob smith's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I only remember dreams a few times each year and my wife remembers her nightly dreams in detail. I'm a light drinker and smoke a little weed each night. Assume this is the reason. -
We eat for pleasure and nutrients are a second thought in most cases. Vegans that are healthy sacrifice food pleasure or are exercise fanatics that can get the carb rush at every meal. Lots of young fat and soft vegans that are going to not age well. Do know some very fit ones though.

You are correct but it so close to being complete it really doesn't matter IMO. The protein might be slightly less efficiently processed compared to a slab of meat ( E.g., 30g Pea equals 27g meat). For my lifestyle, I need a high carbs and high protein diet and the pea protein is he easiest manner to get in a quality protein quickly and it is extremely inexpensive. One meat heavy meal at lunch and terrible tasting pea protein at the bookends of each day works for me.

It is quite disgusting and cruel but I easily get over my reservations each and every meal. Wish there were better alternatives and having worked on cattle and pig farms I know how horrific the treatment of the animals can be. Not routine abuse but it is hard to avoid cruelty when chasing dollars. Just had my pea protein shake which was extremely healthy and terrible to the last gulp. Tasty burger only a few hours away.

Really? Petty mood today? France has good eats - feel better... Europe rules!!!!

It seems humans are a factor but not 100%. You can look at scary graphs that include urban areas or look at non-populated regions to get a better picture. Why do that when you can scream the world is doomed like Greta. Below is a data from the arctic. Worrisome - yes but not even close to what "many" environmentalists are selling. I just picked a part of the globe that isn't impacted by urbanization. If my logic is wrong, then tell me why without making this into a competition. https://arctic.noaa.gov/report-card/report-card-2022/surface-air-temperature/

True but he stated previously he hasn't been near a hospital in 50 years. Probably just a mistake. His story is missing so many details.

Thanks for taking the time to help out. I'm going to give this a try. I want to put together a dummy proof system that is expandable and have some great ideas how to go about it. Have a metal shop across the street and a great welder with lots of time late afternoons to put together a moveable and expandable mount for the panels. He charges so little it is basically free. I will be able to slide in panels as needed with no need to mount individual panels. Extremely windy here but even the 200 watt panels used for security and night lights I glued to the roof are still doing fine after 4 years. Thanks again! Forgot - can you charge your EV? I assume I'll have one sometime in the next 5 years.

It rains where I live hard and often. I read a post you made somewhere else and it seems like you have close to the same power needs I have. I currently only have one 20k BTU ac( another in the exercise room but don't run at the same time), a fridge and a dedicated freezer. The rest of my needs probably total around 300 watts. I would probably use my other AC more often and run my pond pump( 400 watts) 6 hours if I was using solar so my needs would match your needs if I remember correctly. What is the max capacity of your solar panels? How many kWh is your battery pack? Do you get at least 10% of the panels capacity on rainy days? Sorry for all the questions 🙂 last one for this post I promise. I setup panels with an inverter on my DIY camper so I have a basic knowledge of a solar setup but have no idea how difficult it is to tie into PEA. Is this something I could do myself with the help of locals to mount the panels?

It's a challenge and they enjoy the social aspect of being an owner. Not for me but I know a couple successful bar owners. They aren't making a lot but seem happy. Problem is that most t never get to enjoy themself because they lack the skills and luck to make it here.

Thailand to tax residents’ foreign income irrespective of remittance
atpeace replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Hard to fault your logic. Your situation is obviously different than mine and you have more possible tax issues I assume. I'm trying to empathize with others fear but apparently have not succeeded. As for my situation, preparing would be of little advantage. If the tax laws are changed, there is not much I can do now that I think would make it any easier. I no longer own property here and don' intend to in the near term. Possibly the reason for my lack of concern. My relationship with my GF of 4 years is my biggest concern. I'm sure she would follow me if I moved but how would that impact our future is undetermined. She has investment properties here and other obligations. We are both under 60 and very healthy so I think we could adjust but I hope we never have to move. I love it here in Thailand and have been here for the most part since 1998. That is why I occasionally read these tax threads for information. From my perspective, people on AN are more confused than they were in October last year when the first tax thread appeared. I myself have gained possibly no further knowledge that wasn't acquired that first week in October. Some posters rant about the impacts of the new laws and their intentions to leave without providing a valid source of their concern other than a what if and that does frustrate me. I would rather have posts about what has been implemented or will be implemented and not these IMO crazy scenarios presented as facts. With that said, this thread isn't about what I need 🙂 -
Thailand to tax residents’ foreign income irrespective of remittance

I too want to be prepared but this thread hasn't helped as of yet in the least. Maybe more info will come out in the future on this thread or others of the same type. Cheers! -
Thailand to tax residents’ foreign income irrespective of remittance
atpeace replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Good point . Many 2nd and 3rd world countries do the same for some reason but do wish I could own land. Countries have different laws to the benefit of their citizens in most cases. I think Thailand has treated me wonderfully and easy visas and reporting are the best part. I will try to follow these tax threads and glean what i can but at this point there is not much to be gained. Not saying the threads are not needed! -
Thailand to tax residents’ foreign income irrespective of remittance
atpeace replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Good points. I believe that if you filed a tax return in your country on income earned there then no taxes should be paid here. Should poor individuals be taxed here that fall under the tax threshold in their home country? I don't think so and it is chasing peanuts. The new tax laws are IMO chasing the offenders that aren't filing tax returns in any country (Thais and expats). It is a guessing game at this point but in the end whatever might be implemented will be manageable. Not saying there won't be issues but in the end(hopefully before my end) it won't impact expats that file returns in their home country. My "opinion" is based on the system that has been in place for decades and decades throughout the world that is now looking at the means to taxing freeloaders. -
Thailand to tax residents’ foreign income irrespective of remittance

Is there a document that states that Thailand is planning on additionally taxing the Individuals that pay less income taxes in there home country than they would here?
