Chinese Face Legal Action Over Dangerous Songkran Water Blasts
atpeace replied to Georgealbert's topic in Bangkok News
The only real issue I have with the festival is the intent to cause harm. I rarely see Thais blasting people with high volume hoses or pvc pipes. It happens but is rare. What Thais have done which irritates me much more than the dangerous high volume hoses is revelling in causing discomfort with ice water. I seriously don't see the justification or how someone gets a thrill out of harming others. I remember being soaked during Songkran in years past with warm water and even having some fun. I guess if you're shttt faced it really doesn't matter but authorities should get rid of the ice so it could be a more pleasant experience or at least not a miserable one for those sober people that have to pass. in the end it is over and wasn't all that bad. -
Good question and not a chance unless a friend invited me and I made the sacrafice for them. I just don't find these types of activities worth all the effort. I would compare it to skydiving which I derive vey little satisfaction from and find extremely boring. I know it isn't politiacally correct but a retard could go to space or jump out of plane. I prefer real challengs and risks or at least I did last decade 🙂

Booze-Fueled Songkran Sparks Backlash from Non-Drinkers
atpeace replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Seem a little boring but whatever floats your boat. The festival is a minor inconvenience and it is nice to see people having fun. Dripping wet women or men if that is how you roll isn't all bad. Got bigger things not to worry about 🙂 -
Health insurance? I would think that would be expensive at your age.

Really enjoy your non-political posts 🙂

There were a group of these fools that enjoyed trashing anyone that had an opinion that the group didn't support. They definately had the numbers and could either drown you out or get your post removed. Weird times. BTW, I don't agree with many of your vaccine believes. The difference between myself and the vaccine tirants is that I have no need for a herd nor a desire to report you to a moderator.

Not me and could never understand the panick. I just sat back and watched many let fear take over their life. I know of not one person that died of Covid nor do my family members. It was basically a severe flu that killed off the weak. Very few healthy people died and want to emphasize VERY FEW. Couldn't we have just focussed on the unhealthy older crowd in stead of pancking? Forcing lockdowns for everybody and needlessly vacinating infants does seem a little excessive. In the end it all passed and the vaccines and lockdowns were just an aggravation. As for the vaccines, doubt the vacines are really killing people with the rare exception but no need for them anymore unless you are extremely unhealthy.

There is a mesage in the OP. It is his manner of comunicating and don't understand all the harsh responses. I think Gamma might benefit from mdeditation thoughout the day which could help contoll his thoughts or maybe he enjoys openly expressing every passing thought. I was referneced in one of you AC rambles and saw some other posters were refernced in other parts. Keep posting and I enjoy the reads if I have time. Ofcourse many worldbeaters here on AN won't have the patience 🙂

Why are Cambodian people so friendly?
atpeace replied to Don Giovanni's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
That was my experience also. Everyting has to be locked up and if left on the streets after dark will probably not be there in the morning. Even the places that store your car or bikes will steal them but still better than leaving in the open. People were nice, like the Thais 25 years ago, that saw us as superior for better or worse. Don't want to be alone though off the beaten path. I found this out the hard way and barely escaped without being robbed. -
Pool idea 10m x 4m is 1.2-1.5m deep enough
atpeace replied to kwak250's topic in Swimming Pool Forum
No need for a filter in my case because of the size. This is one of the reasons I went small. What mattered was creating a place to cool off ( no need to swim 🙂 ) with nice surrounding after exiting my exercise pain cave 🙂 It has a nice view of the big pond infront while sitting or standing. Also no need for a scimmer because I created a negative edge that drains into the pond so no top dust, dirt or leaves. The ground water is fine but I let it run for 5 minutes before directing it to the pool so the water is completely clear. The ground water stays around 29c all year. This year has been the coldest in 20 years the last month (usually hot) in my part of Thailand so the water is about 26c after a day if I don't change the water. I could dump my Ice freezer into it to drop it a few degrees if it gets hot which is another advantage to going small. Already do this for my ice bath. The house is powered by solar so electricity isn't a concern. -

Funny. I bought a pair on my first trip and so did my friend. 1998 was the year and we were fools. Think I know you from my time in CM. Your pic looks like a biking friend 🙂 -
What do you do with all your free time these days?
atpeace replied to KhunLA's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Do you actually sift through the data? I had loads of data years ago and because of the size never really looked at it much. I decided to only keep about ~2% of the best stuff and now I actually enjoy it on occation. Not often but sometimes 🙂 Nobody will look at it when I die and no real reason to keep things that bury what is important is how I look at it. I bet it I cut the 2% to .5% it would provide more value. -

I've lived in Chiang Mai for a total of 6 years but in finally escaped in 2015. That picture in the article would have been one of the good polution days while I was there. You can see buildings from kilometers away. I would have been thrilled and exercising outside. Maybe rode up to Doi Suthep. -
Pool idea 10m x 4m is 1.2-1.5m deep enough
atpeace replied to kwak250's topic in Swimming Pool Forum
Just built a tiny dip pool that is about 160 cm deep next to my exercise room for the hot season. It is perfect and water is changed every day from the well that I use to top the pond infront of the pool so no need for chlorine that I dislike. The water from the pool drains into the pond. Took a few days to build and just finished. -
Yep, think this is the main reason and haven't had an issue when I give it a few hours to get down to 20-21c. Too hard on the AC to deal with the humidity I was creating and dropping the the temp from 32c to 20c while sweating up a storm. If I walk into the room when it is already 21c then no icing 🙂

Really don't care about memories after I die. Simply strive to be satisfied with where you are in life each day and nothing else really matters. Most are like GG' post today, seeking satisfaction at monkey temples only to be disapointed.

Have fun in Pattaya and seeking intelligent friends at a monkey temple is a sane approach.
