For goodness sake, Prayut and his cronies do not need any popular support from Thais or anyone.
The election is paid for rigged and tailored to see that he wins.

The whole country is a living museum of how the world was 200 year ago.

2 hours ago, Thailand said:A fitting tribute that will also make a few baht that could be redirected for some useful purposes.
I think you mean redirected into the pockets of greedy undeserving officials.

Time to get some new material, these stories are wearing a bit thin.
How about one where the good taxi driver finds a free and democratic society on the back seat and returns it to the Thai people.

The responsibility lies with the culture of the country, the poor education, the lack of critical thinking, the rampant greed.
The Captain would go out in a cyclone if instructed by his greedy masters.
The cops busting this stuff will make no difference, there is no safety culture in the country.

Well it's over now great job by all.
The down side is that "Big Joke" is slithering back into the news feed again.

A wonderful outcome, so how do they cash in on it?

I'm waiting for the announcement of a revised and detailed maritime tourism safety management plan.
I maybe waiting for sometime.

So happy they made it out, a result of the great skill, determination and professionalism of the rescue team. I wish the boys and their coach a speedy recovery.

So the answer to a marine tragedy is for the cops and assorted bureaucratic riff raff to seize and divi up the assets of a Thai mominee Chinese owned company. That will go a long way to sort tourist safety. Bloody hell.

200,000 x a little tea money is quite an earner, just throw out the Africans and a few Indians still quite a windfall.

So I've been smacked for criticising Musk even though I believe in him as a brilliant innovator and entrepreneur, perhaps using the word gratuitous was a mistake.
These guys get promotion by default when ever they make statements or appear in public.

After residing here for a number of years I am aware of the way some people avoid taking responsibility, however I cannot condone it and until it sinks in that this kind of attitude cannot continue, to bury my head in the sand and just say this is how it is cannot be an option.
I agree, but that's the way it is, has been and will be for the foreseeable future.

You don't like the mini-sub?
Mini sub is cool, just seems a bit unnecessary at this late stage when plan A seems to be working fine.

Sad how the budget tourists are led like this, it is said they were on their way to go snorkeling. I the conditions of the day what on earth were the tour guides thinking. Clearly there needs to be some tourism packages designed for seasonal differences.

Time to invest in a privately owned morgue, sadly in Phuket you would get a good return.

The zero dollar tourists only exist through Thai greed and corruption.

In my mind it is better to loose a job than be responsible for the loss of so many lives.... when you take on a position of captain there comes with it RESPONSIBILITY !!!!
A captain losing his job is a major loss of face, not going to happen. Also you are aware of the absolute and manic avoidance of taking responsibility for anything that exists in Asia.

I kinda like Musk but don't care for this gratuitous self promotion at this time.

Damn!!!
Bet next they will stage some accident somewhere else in order to make it a tourist attraction. While they are at it why don't they plan a movie... they have all the ingredients they need...
Can't believe it... tourist attraction...
Stage an accident, no need for that plenty of accidents to go around. There will be another soon enough.

After the rescue it's just a cave maybe of interest to cavers, you won't get me in there.
No doubt package tourists will get dragged along wether they want to or not.

An Onslaught of Tourists Is Stressing Out Thailand
in Thailand News Headlines

No, they won't wonder how things went wrong they will simply blame the tourists/foreigners as witnessed by the recent Phuket boat tragedy.
Blamed the Chinese, swooped on the Chinese tour boat business claiming it was illegal, but of course it was sanctioned by Thais making money in the background.
There can be no remorse from people who take no responsibility for their actions, or more correctly lack of action.
