  3. You can remit the amount on the sale receipt issued by the land office. If it's lower than the actual sale price, (It usually is) You can transfer up to 50,000 USD per day on any kind of visa. I did. The bank didn't want to do the additional transfer the same day, I had to wait a couple of days and then no problem. Cost of transfer is 1350 baht. The sales tax at the land office is paid in cash, on the day of the sale/chanote transfer. You won't get your chanote until they are paid, normally split 50/50 between buyer and sell My personnel experience in 2019
  4. They do have a steam powered train with old stock running from Kanchanaburi to Sai Yok where it is turned around and you come back. It's a great day out. Other than that the railway bed exists in places but the track is all gone.

  6. Same, Cashier's cheque, once the name is transferred cheque and keys change hands. Don't forget the land transfer fee, payable to the Land Office, usually split between buyer and seller 50/50. Ours by agreement was cash by both parties.
  7. https://edition.cnn.com/2021/06/01/americas/canada-mixing-coronavirus-vaccines/index.html https://www.msn.com/en-ca/health/medical/canadian-study-to-look-at-effects-of-mixing-covid-19-vaccines/ar-AAKcr1D It was widely done in Canada. Their only option in winter of 2020 was to get AZ from India. The approach was to get as many vaccinations into as many people as possible for first dose. And wait as long as possible for the second jab While they were doing that other orders were in for Pfizer, Moderna etc. So second jab time comes around and options were available. The problem for a lot of folks is that most countries don't recognize mixing and matching for entry.
  8. A fellow member at my gym in Udon got AZ at the beginning of June, he was offered a choice of AZ or Pfizer when he went for his second shot. He went for Pfizer. It'll depend on availability
  9. Bring some food and drink and they'll look forward to your visits
  10. I was at my son's school this morning picking up some books and the headmaster told me in person school would resume at the start of the next semester which is Nov 1st at his school. He said all teachers had been double vaccinated (didn't ask which). And that they would encourage parents to get their kids vaccinated with Moderna as it becomes available. Private school in Udon Thani FWIW

  16. Registered with expatvac Aug 1, registered with Thailandintervac as soon as the Khon Kaen option was available Received this SMS from them after confirming my passport number on Wed evening to receive a AZ vaccination on Sunday Aug 29 at Central in Khon Kaen.
  17. I wouldn't take that last statement to the bank just yet. Registered Sunday in Udon Thani at what was basically a "pop up" site. got a shot Monday. Tuesday evening got an SMS saying I've been accepted for a Pfizer shot on Wed in Udon Thani again. No way to contact back. Wed evening got a SMS from Bangkok Hospital Khon Kaen saying. Now I can't reply to Khon Kaen to say I've been vaccinated to clear up a spot for someone else. So from last weeks frustration to this weeks flood of offers.
  18. Check with some of the temples. The central Wat in the rural village I used to live in had a very impressive collection of Rabbits in a large cage, maybe 50 or so. I'm sure a donation could liberate some
  19. Well, Sinovac shouldn't hurt you, but then again it's not going to help you very much either, kinda like the Thai government.
  20. That idea worked so well in Germany and Korea that it should be applied in Afghanistan?
  21. I did the gauntlet Monday in Udon Thani, go early, very early. Took 3 hours for me to get a jab, but glad it's done and I"m in the system. Registered on every site to come up and then this pops up at random on Udonmap last Friday. Judging by the size of the turnout, it's strange that Udon Thani is not a hub for expats getting vaccinated in the far north
