  1. People on the train can logon to WiFi to report on crimes like Rape, Murder, Robbery, Molest etc.

    Good idea.

DOES your phone stay charged all the way from, for example, Ubon to BKK - a 12 hour journey, for those who do not take the express?

I have a Samsung S4 and, if fully charged before embarking, then yes it would be operative for such a long journey.

How many Thai kids have up-to-date phones? Probably 10% - the rich ones. All others use battered old Nokias and the likes, or second hand decent phones in which the battery is almost defunct.

Therefore, unless they take a charger, and have access to such to charge their phones, then no - they can actually report zilch, zero, nada, rien, ไม่มีอะไร ....

Without sockets available to each seat then the idea is fairly useless.... but a nice idea, at second best. ;) It looks and sounds good only.

  2. One has to remember that Thailand is a male dominated society, in which the woman is considered second, and if the male makes a request she should obey (as are many South East Asian countries).

Until such a ridiculous attitude catches up with 1st world standards, then such actions will be in the news daily, and not weekly, which they are, unfortunately

I in no way condone this man's actions, but one has to remember what suppositioned comparative century people live in Esan areas, and what they have been in-bred with as seen fitting treatment of women. sad.png

Of course, the wife in no way deserved this severe punishment, but many Thai men believe they have such a right to dish out such obscene actions, because of the division between areas of this country, and again - LACK OF EDUCATION in what are right and wrong ways to treat fellow human beings.

He wanted what he wanted... he is the male dominant one... thus, in Thailand, the woman MUST do what he says, or get punished.

This really is an example of certain people not actually reaching out to the provinces, but appearing to do so, and being deeply loved for the apparent pictures of help and development!! A camera can create all sorts of ideas within the real needy.

Edit: Unfortunately, most of what I write above I believe to be fairly accurate. Any disagreements.... let's discuss, in a coherent manner.

  3. "approved the establishment of the special economic development zones in the five provinces. The meeting, chaired by Head of the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) General Prayuth Chan-ocha, determined that the five areas were suitable and had great potential for border trade expansion."

Do they mean greater numbers of cheap copy goods which have been available from the 5 markets in these areas for the last 20 years? Expansion, or taxation? If greater expansion, then all the more kids begging at the border, and more likelihood of child snatching for Thai internal use. Not the best areas available for trade expansion, far from it. However, they are established areas of trade; thus, army personnel may be able to take the opportunity to gain from such a venture, when they kick out the immigration police!

Prayuth needs to take a holiday to Paris, as he's made a few mistakes in the last few days.

  4. And why not have ticket sales as most other countries do, through recognised sales points, like newsagents, supermarket chains and etc.? Also using recognised machines, which print the numbers of your own choice, and not what is available in front of you from unknown sources.

Rather simple in practice; Rather difficult when cutting out the provincial governors and middle men, etc.

Corruption maintained, and little in the way of proposed army interference in this matter. Not knocking Prayuth, but plans have not gelled in any way, shape or form, as were promised regarding this matter.

Personally, I neither gamble nor buy lottery tickets, so I have no major opinion nor give a toss, but it can be seen quite clearly how it is controlled in the West. I guess it boils down to who and why they want to maintain fixing in Thailand. I believe that's fairly clear, at consumate levels... ;)

  5. Again I post the same as the other Time please topic. ooooooohhhhhhh please. she wants time for vacation---and time for the rice saga also.

Is there a mini Olympics somewhere ????

Damn right you are! The Commonwealth games! When the NCPO let's her, or any of the PTP/UDD 'oils' leave the country, they'd not be half as clever as what I thought they were...
Or even more clever, if they cancel their passports whilst away! whistling.gif

    Why would this be clever?

Because she/they would not be able to re-enter Thailand. End of.

  6. Don't these people use recognised internet security suites, or am I barking up the wrong tree?

As far as I know, the likes of webroot and kaspersky, amongst all the others in the top 10, which are all well reviewed, they note IP addresses and mail name changes from the same, or multiple activities using the same methods. They throw the stuff into the junk file, with warnings... well at least mine does. I still get junk offering me 20M $US if I send 20,000 to have my unfound uncle's millions transferred to my bank. But they are highlighted as BIG RED warnings, and sometimes my suite won't even let me trust such a site, to even see what it contains.... whistling.gif ...

  7. Suicides with multiple shots been fired are very suspect, and mostly not what they seem to be, not a suicide I mean, I hope there has been an extensive forensic analysis started on this one, before Mr Suthi's body has been 'cleaned', and the pick-up truck has been cleaned up thoroughly too by friendly helping hands... A 'shadow' in the spread of blood stains inside the cabin could prove there was some helping hand at work already, for instance... Very strange, weird, and so 'convenient' for the powerfull, ruthless, people he was opposing!

TIT... remember? Expect nothing from forensics.

  8. The Court ruled that Yingluck and her government had done its best to handle the flooding and prevent the water entering inner Bangkok.

Nice to know she was concerned only about BKK, and sod off to the rest of the country.

I guess the court admin all live in BKK, judging by the result of the case, and in much bigger houses after today.

  9. Silencer on an M16 will only work at the shooters end.

Anyone who has ever been shot at by a high caliber firearm or been in the butts at a rifle range will tell you there are two bangs for every shot.

One (the second) is the actual rifle being fired, the first is the projectile passing at above the speed of sound, as in breaking the sound barrier.

You can get low power 22 amo that can be silenced but as far as I know not 222 which is the amo used in a M16.

Anyway great to get even more weapons off the streets.

Isn't there a 3rd bang with an M16, as it implodes the stomach or skull? whistling.gif
