There's also a good D.I.Y. store in "The Chilled" mall

I went to "The Chilled"  twice..both times  just for the MR D.I.Y store..I think that was the first one to open in the Pattaya area.

clogging up the first floor with open racks of cheap clothes and other stuff that's only attractive to very low income Thais

It seems to happen in most malls here..it can be annoying as they "pack em in" too tight making it look cluttered and feel claustrophobic, but at least it brings in shoppers any shopper is better than no shoppers no matter how "low income" they are.

  3. Your wife probably bought a car in let's say BKK, took it back to the province where she lives, and went to the DLT there to get it changed into her name. In this case she has to get license plates from this province.
If she had gone to the DLT in BKK to get the car changed into her name, then she could have kept the BKK license plates.
Yes I think you're correct...except she bought a car with BKK plates in Chonburi and didn't want to drive to BKK to do the change...imagine if she bought the car in Chaingmai ! One day they will update this antique system of registration...
    Thailand 4.0 and all.
  4. Another thing that didn't help them at launch was the road (to/from Sukhumvit) being blocked while they built the underpass...then the road being dug up to bury cables underground...and no covered parking for motorbikes.

Maybe the removal of the comfy sofa areas  was a mistake too...though lots of people slept on them ????

  5. I would  guess at lack of fuel,   is there rust in the petrol tank ?

there is often a filter inside the fuel tank attached to the stop cock..as well as an external fuel filter which can get blocked  if they are ok then check fuel level in the carb float bowl  it should be possible to do that while the carb is in situ by attaching a clear tube ( like for fish tank air pump ) to the overflow pipe then opening a small scew on the  float bowl  the fuel level should be about level with the  join between the main body of the carb and the float bowl.

There won't be any prostitutes, of course, so it can be called four floors of no whores.

I doubt very much that would happen...anyway  its a good mall for the kids   and has "Snowland" "laserbattle" and "roller skating"

(errr perhaps I should say it had "these things" the last time I was there)

by cert of residence do you mean my condo contract, never seen a cert of residence in 6 years

No you get a "certificate of residence" from either Immigration, your embassy or you can use a work permit or Yellow book depending on what province you live in,

Chonburi/Pattaya are reported to only except residence certificate.

an i photocopy the first certificate,??

There where ok with that at Barnglamung/Pattaya DLT  when I did mine last year.

also only one "certificate of residence" reguired +  one copy.

    edit:

as long as you do the both renewals at the same time/day.

And that was your subtile way of saying that all Thais live like cave people, animals or at least that you are standing high above that woman and her family?

No it was my way of saying the some people keep there motorbikes in their living room..I use to do the same  but its a bit difficult riding them up to the 3rd floor  so now keep them on the road. ????

The reason to keep them in the living room is to prevent theft and damage...also keeps the paint looking lovely with no sun or bird poo damage.

The new owner can keep the existing plates

Yes if the new owner lives in BKK they can keep BKK plates    but if they live in another province the plates will need changing..unless they never do the name change and drive around with someone else's name in the book as the owner, which (amazingly) they can do and still pay Tax and insurance yearly "no plomplem"

You even claimed Thompson was gone...

When I posted about that  the old shop was boarded up ( I didn't notice if the new location was open or not then )...now the old location it has been totally removed..( some seats are there now)

There are no shops closed and boarded.

Look at the photos there are lots, I don't know why you argue about it,there where shops there before..now they are closed and boarded up..maybe they will open again who knows  but to say my post was false is itself false...those shops that used to be there are no longer open for business AKA closed.

Yes it does...so we will soon know  and then I'll come back to this thread and "admit I'm wrong"

  12. Let the buyer worry about new plates..they may live in any other province  so changing to BKK is just a waste of time, money and effort..If you are leaving the country  and the transfer to a new name isn't done before you leave then   remember to give a signed "power of attorney" form Power_of_Attorney_TH.pdfEnglish example_power of attorney_ umnart.pdf

    to the new buyer

    also sign the blue book

    31243125_bluebook.thumb.jpg.beeb74ea060aea08f0cadea2e3ddf490.jpg

sign the  "request to transfer form"

    cor own_.pdfEnglish example_transfer english.pdf

and send them a copy of your "exit from Thailand stamp" in your passport (obviously after you left the country)
