And cue the stampeding hoards at the supermarkets , tomorrows hand wringing that people are being irresponsible pushing and shoving to get their hands on the "banned substance" so we might have to reintroduce the ban !! ????

Both are inconsistent with the 'rear end shunt' version that the lady claimed it was.
Knowing very well the area where this happened and knowing that the Nissan NV lived in the
"Eua Arthorn Village" I'll speculate that the NV driver came out of the village entrance onto the main Sukhumvit road wanting to make a U-turn which is just a couple of hundred meters further south,
lots of Thais for some reason will not "merge" into traffic they wait till they think the coast is clear and then dash straight across/slightly diagonally many lanes to the far right lane at a slow speed..the far right lane is often occupied by speeding minibuses there is a slight left hand curve in that part of the road and often vehicles blocking the left hand lane view (minibus drivers view) as they turn into the village..so both drivers could have easily not seen each other till it was too late.

But the minibus driver will be.... oh dear.
Yes unfortunately the minibus drivers are still always "in a rush to meet their fathers" constantly weaving and changing lanes, pay more attention to their phones some are drunk quite a few on amphetamines so they can drive all day and night which eventually leads to a "microsleep" or "brake failure" and crashes like the one above... one day the "government" might wake up (in a few hundred years)
and implement strict licensing ,testing of driver and vehicles conveying the public around along with a strict limit of total hours driven in a day speed limited vehicles and tachographs instead of making them fit a GPS !!!!! and carry on as normal.

The accident proved to be a he said-she said affair, with Pongsatorn claiming that Ladda Kangkan, the 42-year-old driver of a Nissan NV, cut him off, causing him to rear-end the car
Quite possibly the Nissan did the cut into the U-turn lane in one foul swoop manoeuvrer instead of merging
and at the same time speeding minivan comes crashing through at light speed.
I saw the remains of the wreckage yesterday big blue bucket and lots of tarpaulin all in the central reservation and wondered what had happened.

Why the hell are they making people line up and fill in bits of paper in crowded conditions..
surely all that is needed is to input Thai ID number and a bank account for the funds to be paid into via an phone app or online..those from the 20 richest families wouldn't claim the 5,000 baht per month ?

Not me, but I see ( well not now obviously) lots of Russians on the beaches and swimming.
12 minutes ago, superal said:I have been told the water is filthy and contaminated with hotel sewage
For some sick twisted reason the roped off swimming areas are often right next to the outflow pipes !

Never seen any results published.

I have an international license
Just use your home country licence..the "international licence" is just a translation of that licence and not even translated into Thai.

Unless you have CCTV evidence I don't see you have a leg to stand on.
By all means make a police report but don't expect much of a result.

Even if you could call it an election (how many months to release the results)
those who voted for other parties where stabbed in the back when those same parties decided to form a coalition with the military !
