Where do you source your information?

Wikipedia Stevenl........ Iranian frozen assets --yes it was their money-(released under the deal) in international accounts were calculated to be worth between $100 billion[1][2] and $120 billion.[3][4] Almost $1.973 billion of Iran's assets---also they paid (so Wiki says) 400 million in a secret deal to get a  prisoners released.

    Also--Aug 2016

"The State Department conceded for the first time on Thursday that it delayed making a $400 million payment to Iran for several hours in January “to retain maximum leverage” and ensure that three American prisoners were released the same day".

  2. What a pity she is choosing to show them a split, --It doesn't matter what you think of Trump, you have to recognise the Iran regime as one that is hell bent on destroying Israel....& is the source of funds for most of the world terrorist organisations---the 2015 deal did nothing but to slow them down just a little, while supplying them with billions of USA $$ , now the other countries France/UK/ etc will be standing on the side lines watching the trade deals they made fulfilled by Germany.

I wonder if there will be an EU vote on this.....and if it will make any difference to Germany anyway.

  3. Killing Eve---its really good isn't it, haven't seen stuff like this since BBC done the La Carr'e stuff......made for the USA and Sweden....(this must be the way to supplement the fact that fewer funds from Licence fees)

Barry...is finished with a bang, quite enjoyed it--I see the 2nd series is being made.

I got around to watching stuff I had download a while back (very rainy in Issan this time of year)

1 Tonya  Tonya Harding----thought I knew the story, what a bad person she was---gosh your heart would go out to this girl, ranked as one of the best athletes America has had---just picked the wrong sport...Ice Skating, --how snobby is that mob, she came from a dysfunctional dirt poor family, and she hardly ever made the team---at one time they said all girls must come and skate in furs,   Tonya's father shot rabbits all week and they sowed them up together ----no she didn't make that team, she done the triple X spin something (where you take off on one skate but land on another) The movie said, no in the world had every done this before---she didn't make that team because she upset them by doing the whole thing to Metallica's heavy rock----instead of swan lake etc.

Its still not 100% clear that she knew about the hit on the other girl that was opposing her---you get to make your own mind up.

Its really well put together---not the type of thing I usually watch---but worth a look---(oh it made Movie of the year)

location london, please indulge me with your knowledge of Devolution and Scottish politics.

Location should have been altered some time back----although it has little to do with anyone's views

I dont quite understand .cherjam, you actually really want to re-air the stupidity of the Darien expedition, where the whole wealth of Scotland sailed off in  ships to a occupy a country already claimed by the Spanish. Sending Scotland broke & into the arms of the B.O.England.

I would want to keep quite about it ----think up the usual story where its never your fault...etc  etc..

And lighten up---I like listening  to Frankie Boyle jokes. & I have nothing against Nicola Sturgeon ---I mean you  gotta hand it to her,  She's always clean shaven

but whats really turning people away is the rudeness and blatant nastiness of the Thais, something that has always been there but the past few years more prominent. Every corner here is a scam or double price for Foreigners.

Obviously you are quoting this from some deep survey done of ex-pats leaving Thailand......& you will now supply us all the link.......or its been dreamed up after half a dozen Chiang;s  in the looser bar Soi 99 .....Gosh I wonder what one I should go with......I know I'll just ask some blatantly nasty and rude Thai's.....shouldn't be hard to find one ---as you point out they have always been like that......:omfg:

    Patrick Melrose

  9. Is anyone watching "Barry" ? In some ways it reminds me of Braking Bad, when that first hit the screen--that seemed slow and HBO only done 6 episodes in the first season, A teacher who had cancer & thought he could make a quick $$ out of making Meth for his student to sell. They even say now they didn't think the hero (a drug pusher) would sit to well.

Barry, also seemed just as slow---(HBO only done 8 episodes as a trier) but thought I would stick with it for a while, another unlikely hero--a returned service guy who kills people for money, his agent is always shorting him on the payment and booking him in run down accommodation, and cheap car rentals.  Up to episode 6 now and it starts to get a bit darker as it moves along, & the bodies pile up. Maybe it wont come to much, but I think its worth following a bit longer.

You are in for a treat. It seems to me one could mess oneself up just by hanging around him.

Is that the same one that came out a few years back---or new? His Daughter pays him a visit and he ends up living with her friend----he is quite bitter isn't  he --- run out of money back in the UK selling odds and ends at nearly 80-----& says that some of the music he wrote Jack Bruce still gets the royalties for.

  11. Stephen: (Stephen Lawrence) The Murder That Changed a Nation........... S01E01

I don't know if it changed the nation---but it did change a 1,000 year old cornerstone of English law. Being declared innocent by a jury (free from that crime for the rest of you life ) no longer exists. from 2005 "double jeopardy" was alive and well--and as it was retrospective it had a few people clambering to change their autobiography

BBC have put it out in 3 parts   first last night

    ---------------------

New series (12) of Britain's got Talent   started last night, if you follow that.

I saw a 2 min clip on Youtube  of Siri Lanka's first show of -got talent a few days ago, one of the "Stars" was a guy braking rocks with his head who managed to knock himself out.....just watching the judges faces was hilarious, one chucked it in after the show & was quoted as saying 1,000's  years of culture & this is the best we can come up with.

Thai brilliance at work. Why would you form a "team" for 100000 baht when you could just 5 individual loans for 150000 baht then form a team anyway.

I'm reading that differently starky, & you may be correct---...... "interest-free loans of up to Bt30,000 per person. If they form a team of at least five, (Then* my word) each team can get up to Bt100,000 in loans".
