I have a friend in the Philippines ( Brit)   who went  Australia as a child, school, Uni Business in Perth  who lost his residency .  For the record I am a ten pound pom went to Australia as a child and hold Both Citizenship

I dont know why your freind lost his residency--maybe you want to expand on that--- but it seems you (like me)  have done that route, so its strange why you do not seem to understand why so many people (especially Irish) do not want to stand up and swear allegiance to the queen of England.

Maybe when Oz drags itself into the 21st century they wont have this problem.

I really dont know why this situation (with this guy) exist , but for those who feel its a smart move. Please reflect that they have taken a guy who was probably paying $3-400 a week tax, and replaced him with as family --solo mother 3 children who they will now have to pay about $5-600 a week

  2. Review of Bangkok’s awesome coin deposit machine excites million Thais

Wow easily excited aren't they-- I have seen the same type of machines in large UK supermarkets for at least the last 10 years. (Sainsbury's etc) They sort your change out and issue a docket that can be used for goods, redeemed for cash or sent to one of the 10 or so Charity's they have listed on the machine.

  3. If you are into house renovations....by amateurs...Last night Channel 4  UK

The £1 Houses: Britain's Cheapest Street

Liverpool City Council are selling off derelict houses - for just £1 each. The houses haven't been touched for 10 years, and the buyers must invest their own cash to renovate them, which is at least £40k. If the work is not completed within 12 months, the council can take the houses back, with no compensation. The Wavertree area is renowned locally for crime, drugs and anti-social behaviour.  This was Shot over 2 years, but they do not say how many episodes there is...... Comes with Hard English subs, of course, .....it is Liverpool....la

Now Vera i could never imagine her in a pair of shorts

You know she is now in her 70s.....so I dont suppose she does climb into them (shorts) to often, nice Bio though , worked for British Rail, saved up her pennies (as they say) and put herself through acting school----she has made some good movies, & been nominated for Oscar's but never got, I dont think her type of movies appeal to much to the American audiences--but she got BAFTA's

Shetland Season 4E1 is out today. Quite enjoy British TV drama shows but struggling with Silent Witness. Vera season 8 was great and when Endeavour S5 and Death in Paradise S7 finish I'll binge watch them.

Yer Shetland Great....written by Ann Cleeves --she's just about won every (book) crime award going.

Death in Paradise Nawatthis, gosh I wouldn't have put that up with the serious acting of Vera/Endeavour/Silent witness  --maybe its changed, I'll go back look.

I once downloaded by mistake "Murder in Paradise" They only put a few out every year--- Basically each episode tells the story of how an idyllic trip in paradise turns deadly, (true life I mean) the latest one is the murder of a self-made British millionaire, shot dead by his former partner - a Slovakian model - at his villa in Spain in 2014 , case (still running) has so many twist and turns, but their investigating reporting is excellent--of course they done the Koh Tao double murder--but with previously unseen footage inside the police station, and rare interviews with the Burmese migrant workers convicted of the murder.....I had never seen before

  6. Trauma----UK -TV   last night----3 parts

After a bad day at work, Dan Bowker arrives home drunk to discover that his 15-year-old son Alex has not come home and no one knows where he is. Meanwhile, Trauma surgeon Jon Allerton is at home celebrating his birthday; despite being off duty, he is then called into work. Jon's patient is Dan's son Alex, who has been stabbed. Dan is reassured by Jon at the hospital, but when Jon is unable to save Alex, Dan can't let go of the idea that the surgeon is responsible for the death of his son.

  7. Dreams of a life... Channel 4 UK

It came out as a Drama Doco about 5 years ago---Re run last week.

Bedsit North London where a young lady dies while wrapping her Christmas presents---3 years latter someone discovered the body. A beautiful, popular,  lady of Caribbean and Indian descent, Vincent had been 38 when she died. She had seemingly been forgotten about - by her friends, by her father and four sisters (with whom she apparently had no contact), and by the authorities whose job it was to collect her rent. They have cast actors to play the young and adult Vincent, her mother (who died when Joyce was around 11) and her father . Zawe Ashton plays a really good part as the grown Vincent IMO,

This is very watch-able although sad. Catch it on Youtube if you dont want to download

I’m in my early 30’s, average-decent looks, fit and slim.

    -          Not the typical guy who is unable to get girls in his country

One day I am hoping to read a post from a fat dustman, who never made it past high school. Hasn't got much cash, never travelled further than bognor regis  before he came here. Fell in love with the first noodle lady who flashed him a big smile (which he found out latter was for the guy standing behind him) ...I suppose basically what I am saying is....I am more into Non fiction novels.......:omfg:

  13. Small Town Crime

I thought this was a little Gem....no real big stars..in fact hardly anyone  known , good acting---worth a look ..IMHO

What is the matter with the the way the Americans do the TV series---I mean the way they give you every episode week after week---then just drop of the final 1 or 2 episodes for a few months---I have never seen the UK do this(well once for George Gently --over politics) latest one has been Berlin Station--not a bad production, get up to episode 9 and they decide not to show episode 10 for a few months--if its marketing idea, it doesn't make me want to follow it again...Star trek is back after they halted it for 8 weeks in the middle of a series. & to think they show next to nothing over the Xmas brake.
