    I just look at it as yet another option--(its not for me but.... )_ I notice that with that option-they do away with the 90 days that some people find so absolutely arduous to do. I think that most people who have lived here for some time (say over 20 years) realize that there has been many beneficial changes in Thailand's visa law's

    Are you saying that he took the insurance out after he had the accident Kopitiam ?--- because that doesn't feasible. I take it he took out travel insurance, that can be more expensive then normal insurance--but If he just needed accident insurance, then you can get that from nearly any Thailand Bank for about 5,000 a year--under a 100 baht a week.

    Seeing that he was already an over stayer---why did he bother to pay for an insurance in another country that would be invalid.
