Sadly Thai culture is, not my land so I do not care operates more in the villages than towns. Minimal  litter bins and those that are around are continually full   Once when complaining about local market being littered with so much rubbish I was told, not your land so why worry . Typical Thai attitude which does nothing to address the situation at all.

Sadly as many of us know educating Drivers correctly would be a game changeer, but after years here, I am sure the truth is you cannot educate STUPID and sadly many of the local Thai drivers are just that, they know the risks, oblivious to others and gaily go on their way , without any worries or concerns about others be they passengers or other road users. 

A country where more credence is given to Buddha, amulets, age old beliefs and complete lack of common-sense coupled with almost zero enforcement of the vast majority of Thai traffic laws with fines so low it is laughable. AND the Insurance companies happy to pay out millions because of law breaking accidents and fatalities purely down to driver incompetence.  

Reminds me of some 70 years ago, shaven heads, striped clothes and as some have said a Big Yellow Star or could be in this case and oversize Covid emblem , makes it so much easier to see, applicable to ALL Tourists, if you are NOT a Thai national you must be foreign  

They already have the Boys in Brown and sometimes they are in Black , missing a nationalistic emblem though.

So the Thai population will NOT object to rise in VAT across the board, paying more in Taxes and Social Security than to keep the same level as now as they will by their own choice be saying GOOD BYE to between 14-21 % of GDP depending on which statistic you use , coupled with approx 2+ million more unemployed
