    There was a news story that some politician didn't like the idea of making Thailand into a weed tourist destination. But if you look at the map, Thailand is the Holland of the east now. It is the only country on the continent to legalize it. It could very well become a weed tourism spot. Indian, Russian, Chinese, Japanse who want to smoke it will come.

    That's a good example. If it were me, I'd take the L and move on. Ask for them to correct it and if not, pay and leave. And never go back It is NOT WORTH yelling, screaming and fighting about it

    If they feel legitimately wronged then yes. What you are implying is that Thailand is like Mexico or Jamaica. It just isn't. If you use a modicum of good judgement around Thai men, you will be fine. I felt totally safe wandering around Thailand at night by myself. A place like Jamaica or Mexico, it is just the opposite. No amount of good behavior will prevent you from being shaken down and confronted. Thai men do not do this.

    I came to Thailand at 23 years old and was way more badly behaved than I should have. One thing I learned is that Thai men don't like to get involved unless they feel they have to. If I had to put money on it, Id say yes, it was the foreigners fault.

    The prohibition is the problem. It makes drugs far too lucrative for criminals. And far too low of quality for consumers. Make alcohol illegal and see how much problems you get.

    I cant stand uppers personally. But I feel good for the ppl living in abject squalor that can afford to enjoy this drug. Instead of being priced out.

    Not if the banking authorities keep printing money and extending credit. Even with covid, did the price of condos fall ?

    There are a lot of ppl who've done well on the Thai condo bubble pyramid since 2008. And there are a lot of ppl who've done well in the Florida bubble pyramid too. The question is, will these credit fueled bubbles last in perpetuity ? I doubt it. But I was wrong from 2010 till now. The "market" was flooded with easy money, lots of builders and flippers. I guess it will last forever.

    It all depends on if interest rates rise or fall. What if we are entering a rising rate phase ? If rates rise more, these 30 years long bull markets will turn into bear markets. Long term too

    There must be some kind of God. Because life and the human condition could not be this bad without divine intervention. If we were just evolved from the big bang and everything was just random, life would probably be 50% better for everyone. Men would probably stand a chance of getting along with women. The work week would be half as long. Your chances on everything would be 50/50. Instead of 90/10 for the average person.

    I'd tell myself that everything I was told about life by Boomers was actually hogwash. Saving your money and being responsible does not get you ahead. Only irrational gambling gets you ahead. So break your precious savings into 10k shots to gamble. Tesla scam here, bitcoin scam there. Anything that looks like an obvious pyramid scheme is a good investment. Follow the herd wherever it goes. Don't think.

    And the smell is much reduced if not completely when buried that deep. The complainants alibi has to be checked out closely.

    I don't necessarily disagree that this always happens on these threads. But this one really takes the cake. If there's one time that it really is true, its this time. Here's miss Thailand 2010.
