  1. Hello all,

    Sexually frustrated member here.

I feel doomed in my relationship. It has completely lost it's spark in the bedroom.

My, otherwise, wonderful partner lacks passion (or maybe i have unrealistic expectations). She never had much passion, but its running out quick these days (we have been together 5 years, have children, and she is in her late 30s)

So, i began wondering how often is normal for us couples in Thailand, and so here we are with this poll.

This is not a troll post and i think it is quite suitable for pub talk, lol.

Hope this can yield some interesting results. It is one of the few scientific experiments i have conducted.

It'l be news when the BIB raid Thai brothels where they keep young teen aged girls chained to their beds by fear and coercion, Falangs don't get near these places.

They will never raid their own places, cos Thais don't do that sort of thing...it's farang who do bad things in Thailand. LOL!

Pity, cos like you say, most of the girls in their places are underage.

See underlined - And you know this how? Any chance you have a link to some facts to prove your statement.................................. coffee1.gif width=32 alt=coffee1.gif>

It is quite easy to see when you walk past and notice that most of the girls there are in their early or mid teens. No need to be a rocket scientist.

Aside from that, if you have Thai friends ask them. They will tell you 15 is a typical age for those types of places. That is also generally considered to be the age of consent here among Thais, but let's not get into the complicated laws and loopholes they have for that here.

  4. Very few Thai women are that tall, are you sure of this height?

Thais (and other Asians) tend to round up their actual heights...and Thai women, to round down their weights.

    Sorry for my late response.

I was wrong about her height. She is 156cm and recently she dropped down to 42kg (after starting her own business, ironically a restaurant business, and skipping the odd meal because of being too busy).

We went for a health check up and everything was normal, except we both have high cholesterol.

Though there was a strange event. She went to get her teeth cleaned and the dentist accidentally nicked her gum a little (tiny cut), but she didn't stop bleeding for almost 2 days. She spat, at least, a bowl of blood overnight and was drained of all her energy. The Ampur doctor didn't seem to think it was a problem that her blood wasn't clotting and told her to do back to see the dentist.

I looked at the results from her health check-up (a few weeks prior) and her platelets were fine, but her hemoglobin and hematocrit were borderline low. I figure maybe due to her low weight she has a deficiency (anemia)?

She doesn't want to check it out any further and is back to her usual energetic self. Though, she has started taking Haemovit and is trying to eat more.

    Her own target is 48kg.

Some teachers are just not very good at it. The unqualified ones are not even able to cover that up.... and students are quick to spot weakness.

What to do? Difficult to advise because one needs structure, feedback loop, evaluation, and flexibility. If you are not a natural then pull back and take the CELTA course. Winging it without really knowing what you are doing is not much fun and you are short changing the students as well as yourself.

The CELTA is truly invaluable for new teachers, but it doesn't help whatsoever with what the OP is talking about.

Western man goes to massage establishment. Selects masseuse and gets massage. Masseuse asks "You want special?" Man says yes (no way to prove his intention by saying yes). Man receives intimate massage. All done, man tips masseuse for massage. Is this paying for prostitution act or tipping a masseuse for massage?

Same as above, but man says upon departure, "Here, use this 1000 to buy your baby some clothes." Is that paying for a sex act or is it a gift?

Woman meets man at bar; the two go to hotel and have intimate sexual actions, together and consensual. Man gives woman money for taxi upon her departure? Is that prostitution by Thai law?

P.S. Chinese medicine includes massage of male genitals as therapeutic and very beneficial for good health. Is therapeutic massage (paid for) prostitution in Thailand?

Your wife's a real lucky woman. It must have been your intellect.

  7. I did a CELTA. It is brilliant for learning methodology, how to stage lesson and create a communicative activity , but it doesn't prepare you for young learners, which i am now teaching (Prathom of all levels...I had intended on teaching at university, lol).

They do give you one class on young learners, but they could do with giving more, i think.

I am now having to figure out child psychology and their motivations. As well as classroom management and discipline, which isn't touched on the CELTA (of course, it isn't really relevant when teaching adults in a language school setting anyway).

I do, however, recommend it. It's very intense and it does prepare you for a huge chunk of what your job requires, just minus the classroom management and discipline, which children need otherwise they won't do your activity, regardless of how fun you try to make it.

Most of the stuff they teach you on a CELTA course can be slightly adapted to fit a classroom of young learners.

  8. Yup, plenty of bullying, but i haven't noticed an increase in bullying toward the mixed race kids. The Thai kids are just as bad to each other. Everyday there is crying for some verbal or physical thing. I am talking about Prathom students though. Mathayom are all very good at our school.

They do love to bully the foreign teachers though when possible, lol (Prathom 4 only...it's a tough age for them)

  9. Sex is what you got between your legs.

Gender is what identity you feel (regardless of what is between your legs)

For example, a ladyboy is male sex, but female gender.

At least, that's what my sociologist/anthropologist professor told us.

I don't know where orientation fits it. What if a ladyboy likes having sex with women, or if a straight man likes the occasional ladyboy experience. Maybe that is orientation, i dunno.

I can't imagine anyone choosing to be gay. I can imagine them being gay and choosing to come out the closet. Or i can imagine a straight guy choosing to experiment with the same sex.

But to really choose to be gay or straight? I don't think it's a choice really. You are what you are.

  10. Maybe he did a runner cos he knew he would be blamed, regardless of the fact she hit the back of his bus. He may not have been drinking.

It is a ridiculous inference to make actually. What, cos he is Thai he must have had a Lao Kao?

Why would he run and why would it be his fault? Well, has anyone heard the saying they have in Thailand, "If an accident happens between a car and a motorbike: car is always wrong"

I have heard this a lot. The last time when my architect (in a car) had to pay 30k in medical bills to a drunkard on a bike when the bike drove into him.

  11. At least the bule (farang) are not dropping like flies there.

I have always loved Indonesia. Java is particularly nice. Bali is nice, if you get out the tourist areas.

  12. Hello,

If there is such a things as physical reincarnation (some claim the religion of our host country says so, just to keep it Thai related), what would you come back as? If you wish to say human, okay, why not make it interesting and tell us where your new human life would be, or some other significant detail for entertainment.

    I would be either:

a bird (inspired by Costas' thread on what life looks like as a bird)

a cat (cats are just cool)

a dog (dogs can lick their private parts themselves)

Turtle came close, but, sadly, no.

    Hello

Can anyone recommend a good private investigator in Thailand to run checks on a Thai girlfriend.

Please feed back any experiences you have had with investigators you have used.

Particularly interested to find out if girlfriend has a Thai boyfriend in her home in Isaan (maybe Bangkok too).

    Thanks everyone

    Google stickman (not stickboy!!!)
he has a very good little sideline in exactly this sort of investigation.
he's fluent in thai, a kiwi who is as honest as the day is long.
if your suspicions are borne out dont expect him to sugar coat things.
he's brutally honest by all accounts

Why would anyone hire a PI to sugar coat things?
