  1. Yes there is plenty of factual and scientific evidence that the sea levels are rising. https://science.nasa.gov/earth/climate-change/cant-see-sea-level-rise-youre-looking-in-the-wrong-place/
  2. Yes it easy to rent a car in Thailand. Yes you can drive anywhere in the country if you wish. But, there is no such thing as an International Driving License. What do you really have?
  3. Judging by the standards that I frequently see from posters on here, the AI's IQ is well above them.
  4. I understood it perfectly. True the language is somewhat flowery but it still portrays the situation as it is on the streets of Khon Kaen. AI is not yet perfect and I doubt that it ever will be, but you're going to have to get used to it, because this is the 'new normal' whether you like it or not. What distracts from the story far more than the flowery AI language is people like you moaning and groaning about it, which is, I should point out off topic.
  5. And I wonder how many times I've been stood behind customers whilst they fumble around trying to root out small change from their pockets or the bottom of their bag. Or waiting whilst the cashier replenishes their till with small change. The boot can just as easily be placed on the other foot!
  6. Prior to the merger with Thaiger (or was it a takeover?) we used to suffer an endless stream of boring posters criticizing the standard of English in the news reports. Now we have AI but it seems that some posters are never happy. Boring, boring, boring!
  7. I am very puzzled. I tried many times before I finally cracked it, however every time I tried and failed I received an SMS to let me know. They didn't explain why my request failed, but at least I knew it had. I had to figure that out myself. (with a bit of help from this forum) So as I said, I'm very puzzled as to why you're not receiving the notifications. Have you tried their call centre on 02-700-8855? I've read that they can be quite helpful. See it as a challenge and keep at it. You'll get there.
  8. I've been practicing Qigong for around 15 years now. My main goal is to maintain a healthy mind in a healthy body and certainly seems to work. I've had none of the ailments that seem to plague us as we age and I have never needed to visit a doctor or hospital. I do not take any medications and have no intentions of doing so. I'm 78 years young now and still fit and healthy. My current Sifu (teacher) is an American who runs an on line academy and I have greatly benefited from his teachings. I've read some good reviews about the centres in Chiang Mai. I hope you enjoy the classes and make Qigong a life time practice.
  9. Yes, many of us are using it nowadays. Download the app onto your phone and follow the registration instructions. If you're not working here see my earlier post on how to proceed.
  10. Go try again. When you come to the 'employment' bit declare yourself 'unemployed' and put your home address as your work address. It's worked for quite a few of us now.
  11. Nothing could be easier. Enter you PIN, tap 'pay' and point it at the cashier. What could be easier than that?
  12. That seems to be a minor detail in this, as in most countries. The same is true for alcohol an tobacco is is not?
  13. I've ridden motorcycles in a number of countries, spreading across Europe, the middle east and Asia. The same same technics such as Spatial awareness and defense riding have stood me well throughout and I'm still riding at 78 years young. Each country has its idiosyncrasies and learning those and adapting accordingly is what keep you out of trouble. There is nothing special about riding in Thailand. In fact I enjoy riding here and I'm always ready to climb aboard.
  14. Anyone who has any doubts about the negative impact that cannabis might have on mental and physical health of users, especially the young, should read this article. Cannabis legalization has led to a boom in potent forms of the drug that present new hazards for adolescents
  15. That'll be a white tee shirt then.
  16. And a massive upgrade to the power grid to cope with the extra load and oh, by the way, who's going to pay their electricity bills? I know folks in our village who can barely afford to run a fan, let alone an A/C unit.
  17. A very good choice and in that regard we're on the same page. I practice Qigong twice a day, Qigong being a very close cousin of acupuncture. When I practice my exercises I am stimulating the self same meridians as your acupuncturist does when inserting the needles. I much prefer Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) to the western, big pharma lead modality. I haven't seen the inside of a hospital for many years, which perhaps is just as well because I have a fear of them. I'm even jittery when I visit someone.
  18. Did you bother to even take a glimpse at Dr. Li's website before making this comment? Perhaps you should, he seems to be a very interesting gentleman. https://drwilliamli.com
  19. I only glance at small change anyway, so I wouldn't know whether there's a satang or two missing, or even a baht. More and more now though I'm going cashless anyway, so for me it's academic.
  20. Everything that you need to know about the product is on Lazada's web site. A lot more than I have the time to repeat. Go to the product page and scroll down. It's all there for you to read. I have one and it works exactly as described. Ultra-sonic anti bark device.
  21. Yes these games and puzzles are fun and I'll accept that they can play a part in keeping the grey matter active. I partake a few of them myself, especially Sudoku and Kakuro. But don't get too hooked on them. Most of us have come across the new phrase “sitting is the new smoking” and it's very true. I like to imagine that pension providers love it when retirees get themselves a big comfy armchair and a big screen TV, or the 'home office of course'. To my mind it's a slow death, both mentally and physically. Humans evolved to move and most of us need to do a lot more of it. (and not just lifting a beer glass either!) I like to walk at least 3 miles (6 to 7,000 steps) per day and I wear a smart watch to ensure that I do so. That same watch also gives me an hourly 'get up and move' alarm to remind me do just that. I also practice Qigong (similar to Tai Chi) twice daily. I'm 78 years young, fit, healthy and medication free. Mens sana in corpore sano. Juvenal got that one right.
  22. That's not what they are designed for. The target dog(s), such ones neighbour's, need to be conditioned to the noise before it becomes affective. They don't work until the dog realizes that it is its own barking that is causing that irritating sound. Then it becomes affective. Very affective. My neighbours dogs are virtually silent now and as far as I'm aware their owner doesn't have a clue why that is.
  23. Read the product details. That should answer all your questions.
  24. I bought this one Dog bark silencer There similar types on Lazada.
  25. Had a problem with the neighbours dogs at night for a while. Bought an ultra sonic device on Lazada. No more barking.
