I believe the reason he stated he can read DM's, but not reply, is because there is an information lockdown. Simple messages from a war zone can unintentionally reveal sensitive information.

Hence, whatever your "agent" was doing can probably only be done with that agent. I suspect the "immigration shakeup" earlier this year (with the Chinese mafia fiasco), caused whatever "channel" the agent was using for this to disappear. It was never a proper extension.

As I have been told many times by my attorneys, "get the proper insurance". Insurance is the only solution for "what if...?" Price some insurance that will cover your worst nightmares. Then build the cost of that insurance into the rent.

As I understand the OP, the "charge" is paid for by the recipients of the blood, not by the donors. As it should be. I would certainly not complain about 2,100 THB for life saving blood if I needed it.

About 8 years ago, companies like mine were all notified that the Business Software Alliance was "on the prowl", and we were informed to review all company computers for pirated software, and that we could expect some sort of "inspection" by that organization at some point. How, and under what authority, these inspections were to be conducted was not explained. The inspection never happened, and I believed the notice was the entire "attempt" by the BSA. In other words, "these notices will cause some XX% of compliance for the least possible expense". It was a 6 month phenomenon, and never heard of again.

Actually, in the AJ report (if I remember correctly), action was initiated to extradite the German back to Thailand to face the charges. Will have to see how that unfolds. But, if he is extradited, I doubt he will be getting a refund on the bribe.

Food panda delivery people have always been very good for me. And 90% of them demonstrate genuine gratitude when tipped. And the cost? As @richard_smith237 says, "astonishing". My friends in the States cannot believe the price when I tell them.

Just flew to Phnom Phen in October, spent the night, flew back into Suvarnabhumi. No request to see an onward ticket, no request to see 20K baht. Just stamped in "visa exempt" in under a minute. Prior to that, I had extended for 9 straight years based on my work permit. The IO's only question was "Why no re-entry stamp?" As @Chelseafan mentioned, unless you have been border hopping in an obvious attempt to stay long term without a long term visa or extension, they are unlikely to even ask about the onward flight. If they do, as @Keeps suggested, they are likely to accept an explanation for the onward flight being farther out than 30 days. You could even suggest you plan to take a train to another country and back, then "fly home" with the onward ticket. These IOs are typically trying to process 100's of people as fast as possible. Unless the passport "tells some story", they just want to get you through as fast as possible.

The occasional success story. It is nice when they come along.

I have been in Thailand for 13 years. and never once have I been asked for a blue (or yellow) book. No bank has ever asked for anything more than my passport. With one exception. When I created a new account for my social security deposits from the US, Bangkok Bank wanted more than just my passport. I needed to also show them my birth certificate and my US social security card. I believe this was a special case because of the US government making direct deposits into the account. Regardless, I did not need a blue book.
