You probably do not need it. There are a number of reasons why people might need VPN: o Access content blocked by your country or ISP o Access media content not available in your country (e.g. Netflix US content from Thailand) o Required by your company to access company resources in a secure fashion o Attempt to hide your identity (not easy and VPN does not guarantee this) o Secure passing of sensitive information on the open web (i.e., you are sending login information over a non-HTTPS connection).

In my case, my Thai wife hated the US and blamed me for "dragging" her there. -
Thai man arrested with 60,000 files of spycam pornography

Very reasonable arguments. First, might I say that I would prefer my child be subjected to this crime as opposed to killed in some shooting event. So there is the question of the outcome. Yes, some children will be harmed mentally, others not so much. I was subjected to something very similar at the age of 11, and it was nothing for me. Just a stupid event. Each person will react differently. However, since we cannot dismiss the potential for mental and emotional harm, we must be err towards caution. I think what you are suggesting is that each case needs to be handled with perspective. For instance, if this guy were 16 years old or 19 years old, I would be more inclined to call it a stupid mistake. But this guy being 26, I would expect more maturity and be less inclined to think he is deserving of the second chance. But I do believe most people think second chances are good, because who has not made a mistake. But they need to have merit. Maybe some research showing the rate of recidivism, age, history, and other factors to decide which crimes are treated more leniently for first offenses, and which are not. I believe this is already done, but I do not know to what extent. I have been accused of being too optimistic, especially with regards to people, so take my bias into account. -

Are you from the US like me? He should be given a harsh sentence, maybe 6 months or 1 year, in a tough prison. Then remind him that a second offense will involve a much harsher sentence. We need to get over this idea of "locking people up for life" for what are essentially mistakes in judgement. People should be given a chance to reconstruct their lives after such a mistake and become better citizens. Make the same mistake twice, and you have proven that you do not learn, then we decide you need to be removed from society. -
Recently went to Bangkok Bank branch on Sukhumvit in Bangkok. This is the computer the person helping me was using: I have not seen a 3.5 floppy drive in over a decade.

Opinion Stakes are immense as Biden presses Israel to change course

I believe the poster was referring to: "ensuring the conflict does not expand to consume the entire Middle East.", in which case, the US might be pulled into the action, and thus body bags nearly guaranteed. Doubtful, however, that this would unfold before the next election. -

Thai man loses his life when using YouTube to repair tractor
timendres replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
When I was young, back in the 1960's. I remember so many accidents. Kids losing arms and fingers. Kids losing their lives. It was very common. Farm equipment is very powerful. Deceptively powerful in ways. Never to be treated with anything less than utter respect. My sincere sympathies to his family. -

Do not know how to answer that question. They wanted the Tabien Baan and Thai ID of the owner that was on the lease. I believe they also wanted the Title, but not absolutely sure of that. Possibly this is where the address discrepancy came up. Unfortunately, it was all happening quickly in Thai, and my agent did not explain it very well, and I really did not care the details - I just wanted it all to end. That is why I pay an agent. To make the pain go away.

Registering a business in Thailand

And then you can add the costs of the business and work permit, as well as the required employees. Having run a business established under the Amity treaty, my expenses ran about 5,000 baht per month for accounting services, roughly 50,000 baht per year for the work permit and extension renewals, and then the costs of having my employees (salaries and taxes). The costs are not trivial, and can be a bit painful if not supported by actual income from the business. On the other hand, if the money is flowing, then you can easily pay for these headaches to disappear. Oh, and then there is the cost of setting up the company. As mentioned, 2M baht for proper capitalization, and the costs of establishment, which ran roughly 180,000 baht in my case (it can be done cheaper). -

As above, CW. I am not sure about the desk. It was the "retirement extension" division. I believe "L" was the desk designation. I partly blame my agent for forgetting that the additional lease evidence was required on the first application. She indicated that it was not required for further extensions (only the lease is required), but maybe she was attempting to save face. The "alternative" was, of course, suggested by the very hungry IO.

Not sure what the issue is. They are the "Mass Communication Organization" after all. -
Confirmed. Two days ago, my application for extension was almost derailed due to the address on my lease not matching the address on the property deed. I do not know the exact details, it was all just a "blur" for me, and fortunately my agent was able to sort it. It took several hours to get things "lined up". Of course, I was offered an "alternative", but the price was unacceptable.
