  1. Are they wrong to buy or are they smart, try again if you believe that anything Chinese is trash.
  2. I will be getting the Visa at the One-stop BOI Office on the 18th floor of Chamchuri Square. It will be 50K Baht, no other fee's should be charged like at some of the embassies or consulates outside of Thailand. I live in Bangkok, not more than 1km from the BOI.
  3. If you would have included my whole post and not changed the meaning of part of it to suit your agenda you would see the section that says: "The need will still be there to wear a mask in certain aspects of daily life, Government offices etc."
  4. In the almost 20 years I have been going and coming as well as living here, I was only flagged on exiting once and that was because I had lost the TM-6 card. The I/O wanted me to do a police report, but when I showed him I was leaving in 30 minutes he relented and off I went after being told to ensure the TM-6 stayed in my passport when I returned.
  5. Waiting on the Certificate to arrive by e-mail or on the App, at which time it should tell me how to pay the 50K. If you look at the e-mail they sent me they do not list the fee's because the amount could be more or less based upon the exchange rate using the home country currency.
  6. Exactly what happened when I returned with my new passport this past February, of course I had my old one with the Extension of stay in it and the re-entry permit which was still valid, but the I/O still pulled up everything on the computer and questioned all of my prior in and outs and my 4 different types of Visas used over the past years as he thumbed through the passport and matched up the entries. He was also questioning the extra pages that I had added back in 2014 to my passport and wondered why Laos added a Visa to the rear page of the passport if I had room. I had to have him look at the date on the Visa and the date stamped on the new page additions done by the embassy here in Bangkok. After shaking his head he had to have the Supervisor come over and review the information, and after another 10 minutes they sent me through and told me to get to my immigration office ASAP and have my stamps transferred. Had I just entered on a 30 day exempt, I really have to wonder how much more time I would have spent with the I/O. I had to laugh as I left the que and then remembered when I had left in January to head back to the US, they pulled me out of line and inspected my soon to be expiring passport, 6 months and 20 days left on it before expiry. I had to show them my appointment in San Francisco after my arrival in the US to renew my passport on an emergency appointment. Why so much interest in a person leaving the country and returning to their country of origin.
  7. The initial update they wanted was provided as an online electronic type of form. It was similar to page 3 on the original app. Once the info is verified they will supply the certificate and then I need to make copies of certain documents, sort of like doing an annual extension. Hopefully they supply the App form as well as the TM8.
  8. I parked my MG HS next to one and yes the H6 is both taller, a little lo ger and a little wider. It does look like a solidly built vehicle as well.
  9. Getting a new passport will not change anything about what's in your prior passport. They can see in the system all of your prior entries and exits and which visa they were on. In the past you could do the new passport and enter with a clean history....
  10. A new passport will not help anymore. The immigration system is ow all computerized and your information will be cross referenced.
  11. Ok, so i logged back in and a new screen loaded up in which I added the additional requested information, which is basically a rehash of the application as far as the type of visa I currently have, the date I am allowed to stay until and then loading in my address. After that I submitted it. The Check Status now says It is in review and they will be issuing me a Qualifications of Endorsement. After receiving the endorsement I will then log back in and schedule my appointment to have the Visa placed into my passport. Hope that everyone else has a similar experience.

  13. Wearing a mask is now a personal choice so making comments about ditching the masks is not accurate at all. The need will still be there to wear a mask in certain aspects of daily life, Government offices etc....you can not make others do what you feel is wrong and in your view a miscarriage of justice.
  14. You are correct. Chatuchack DLT is one who will not take the yellow book for proof of residence, but for this 5 year renewal I was able to get the lady doing my cards to put my pink ID card number on the DL's at the bottom instead of my passport number which has now changed since I did my last licenses.
  15. Of course living out in a smaller Area where there are fewer folks does obviously have it's advantages, but unfortunately here in BKK the que is long, and you must initially have all of the paperwork, except for the medical exam to book an appointment which can be out as far as 2 months. Since they have changed the requirements and added the fact that you must do the on-line DLT E-Learning module and have that QR code available before they will give you an appointment, I did all that was needed but when I tried to book an appointment myself was told it would be 3 months out, of course that is at Chatuchack DLT, and so I used BSR bikes to assist in getting in and out. I posted a report when I did it at the end of last month.
  16. Brand new to Thailand, first one opened in Bangkok, if successful they will spread out. Will be interesting to see what other items they will carry such as actual meat, fruit, vegies and frozen items.
  17. This is not a Top's but a Top's CLUB. Same as a COSTCO, SAM's Club, S&R, many products from outside of Thailand. Bulk items which if you have pantry storage space for is good. Between this and shopping at Makro we only need to shop now once every two months, except for fresh fruit and vegetables which we buy as needed. I became used to shopping this way when working as I was only paid once a month, so I would stock up on the cleaning supplies, and meats such as Chicken, Pork, Fish etc... would fill the freezer as much as possible to last, as well as buying the snacks to fill the lunch bags for the kids. Of course I have no kids at home regularly now here in Thailand except for the GF's daughter who comes and stays, but boy does she power through the snacks, and still is skinny as a rail. One think I like is buying the coffee in bulk so it lasts for a month and not having to buy the small bags of beans sold in markets here every week.
  18. Your sure each of those words is in the Dictionary under the word Prayut as the definition for his legal cases? I would agree at this point.
  19. That is weird but then again I strayed off topic listing it.
  20. Now to see if this being found not guilty follows the same in his upcoming 8 years in power as the PM ruling........all I can say is if he stays in power this country is in for some turbulent times and I hope the big man understands that.
  21. Funny, I just applied for the new LTR Visa which is good for 10 years, but then you have to qualify for it in one of 4 ways, so yes it is not for everyone but it is a Long Term Resident style Visa.
  22. I know in the US, as well as the Philippines, you can get a temporary 1 day membership which will allow you entry and the ability to buy Items. I never knew if those folks continued to play the 1 day game or were caught at the entrance where they check to see if you have the card and if not they send you to customer service. I know that in order to buy the items at the discount prices you have to gave them your card for them to scan, here as they start the new program they scan the QR code from the APP I have on my phone which has my account membership information on it. If no membership then I would believe that you can not buy the items unless you have a temporary card with a number on it that would identify you in the system. This account is also linked to my "The 1" Card. The membership also has these regulations
