  1. A slum, that is rich. One of the most visited places in the world and an international hub, and you think of it as a slum. Why come here at all if thats the way your feel. Hire an agent like others do to avoid the traffic and the great surroundings inside of the City like the parks, and great shopping that the outer areas lack.
  2. Have you looked at locations in Bangkok where there is supposed to be parking available on the sides of the streets, but instead you have stands and food carts as well as mini Talads set up. Happens so often that parking is at a premium and you end up walking a distance to go where you wanted. If only they had true parking garages where you paid like in the malls certain areas might have more visitors instead of clogged roads which have traffic because of folks stopping in the roadway to buy food from a vendor. Drove over to the Rama 8 Bridge yesterday and on a few streets where there are Tire shops, they were actually changing the tires in the street blocking the roadways.
  3. Exactly, White collar crimes are some of the longest running cases and that can be based upon many factors.
  4. Currency exchange from USD to THB has always required it, but regular banking did not. I opened my account with Thb in hand, no foreign currency. I have lived in the country long enough to understand how things work, yet someone who is a Thai citizen either by birth or as in your case does not seem to understand the nuances which can occur, and you always like to point that out. You always want to argue, even when someone is giving a detailed explanation. As much as I like discussing things with you, it is now time to avoid anymore of your Tosh.
  5. They might be coming up the showee drain. I used some drain cleaner 2 weeks ago and it seems to have worked in my condo's master bathroom. Shower does not have a u-trap, at least mine doesn't.
  6. Withdrawing money from the teller in excess of what the ATM allows are what those daily transactions would be. Money Laundering? Really? I normally pull out 50K or 60K at each go since I only use cash here and that is maybe once or twice a week. Sorry if my withdrawals are a concern to you, but my accounts get reported to FBAR annually, so I have no idea what your on about. I use my Pink Non-Thai ID card along with the bank book at the teller and nothing more. If they want the yellow book to confirm my information they might ask for it but they never have. I do my Banking in BKK at a major K-Bank branch and If I were to be exchanging cash, then of course I would expect them to want to see my passport. Maybe in a small branch out in the countryside things might be different. However, all of my transfers into my Bank accounts come from wire transfers which I do myself through my US banking apps. Basically, the Feds are already aware of where the money came from and where it is going during the wire process, just like the Thai banks know where the money came from as it was deposited into my account. My Bills are paid by scheduled transfers from my K-Bank account. However you believe only what you want and you will again call BS. To each there own, no reason for me to lie or pass on misinformation. Everyone gets treated differently based upon reports here, just like those having issues getting the yellow book, where others have had no problems and have used the pink card for many things, which you also call BS. Sorry but your view, at least in my case, is completely wrong. My very First bank account was opened in Rawaii at SCB while I was here on a 30 day exempt entry many years ago as well, which you will also call BS.
  7. It is the way you continually bandy about your new citizenship and how it comes across as you seeming to act superior to others in certain OP's, nothing more. It is only on certain topics as I said that this comes out in your posts, and as I said now and then. All is good enjoy the evening.
  8. Could have but I didn't as my address is listed on the pink ID card and in the yellow book. They typed it into the computer instead of me filling out the forms and then had me sign...easy peasy.
  9. How many times must you be proven wrong.....you love to rub your new Thai citizenship in folks faces now and then. You sound like a few folks who told me I also could not hire a Myanmar housekeeper and have my name listed as her employer....they were wrong on that one as well.
  10. Again your wrong as many have successfully opened up a bank account here in Thailand using the Pink card and yellow book as one comes from the other, pink card after obtaining bank book. Just like buying a car as well with the yellow book and not a COR from BKK. However the DLT insisted on COR to do my licenses both times so far.
  11. Never have shown my passport for routine daily transactions at the bank in the last 4 years since I opened up my accounts after closing down the prior ones due to divorce. Once a year I do show it along with my bank book in the basement of CW for my annual letter, other than that I show my Pink card and carry my yellow book and my bank book if they need something to look at. Call it BS, but it sure is funny since it works for me at Kbank and SCB. The Pink ID card was how I also registered for the Mor Prom App and obtained my Covid Vaccinations.
  12. Bills must be in their names then or at least the wifes. My condo and my house are only in my name and so my bills from MEA and PEA as well as the local water district are in my name as well. Hard to use a Thais ID card to do this since I am not married to a Thai.
  13. OK if you say so, but I have my accounts with SCB and Kbank which say otherwise.
  14. Your wrong again. We went through this on another OP. I sent you a copy of the front and back. Again your memory is waning. By the Ministerial Regulation of Section 5 of the Civil Registration Act, BE 2534 (1991), as amended by the Civil Registration Act (No.2), BE 2551 (2008), the following definitions shall apply to persons who are Non-Thai nationality;
  15. Another one who believes it is non useful, fair enough for you it is not beneficial, but for others it has proven it's worth many times over.
  16. It is a fact that if you pay certain bills at Big C or try to use the credits earned on your account for a reduction in the shopping bill that you need to show the Pink card you opened up the account with. It was how i obtained the Big C card which i obtained in 2013 and which I posted about almost 2 years ago. Many said i was talking BS, but it is what it is. I also opened up my Home-pro account with the Pink card and my Power-Buy account
  17. And I would do it again as well. My time to renew the Pink card is coming up as I am closing in on my 10 years. Unfortunately, I won't be 60 and able to get it reissued for life, so it will be lifetime. I was successful when I renewed my 5 year licenses to have the 13 digit number from the pink card added to my DL's and the passport number removed. Like I said in the past many times over I have used my pink card for many things. Just shopped at Big C, where I initially used the card to set up my account, and instead of my telephone number they wanted the pink card so they could reduce my bill by using the credits associated with the account. Saved me 600 Baht on the bill. Did the same at Watson yesterday as well and saved 200 Baht. It does come in handy, well at least for me it does, sorry it is of no values to others.
  18. You can not get through immigration without them ensuring you have a visa for where your going. They stamp you out of the country.
  19. See PM sent. The shop was very helpful. Just used them 3 weeks ago.
  20. Again you live to pull this nugget of BS out in every discussion of the Pink Non Thai ID card. Your view is very outdated as you have been shown before.
  21. I only wish this was true. I have my condo blue book which is basically blank and then my yellow book which lists myself and now the GF in it. Yet for obtaining my licenses here at the BKK DLT they wanted a COR, but when I bought my cars and motorbike the yellow book worked fine. Obviously a difference in individuals processing such items.
  22. Read the post you quoted and then yours again, It seems he is discussing the new passport and not the old passport, which would have the visa needed to leave Thailand if she was going to a destination where the visa was needed.
