  1. Try taking half a dose and see what your readings are for a 7 day period. If you have a calendar to write on take it upon waking, then after breakfast, and then before bed time. If you drink caffeine of any type you might want to drop it from your diet and see how your BP plays out. It took me 6 months, with my exercise, diet and getting rid of caffeine to not have to take the quinapril at all. However, I backslid and started drinking coffee again and need to take a half tablet 5mg, but it is taken in the morning. Good luck.
  2. Looks like the 500 rolls of toilet paper I stocked up on will be worth a whole lot when the other funny papers, except the rolling papers, become wortless in your view then......
  3. Bored, why? Get out and about if you can, travel and hike. In Cha Am now and we walked over 10km today on the beach and then swam in the pool in the Villa.....life is what you make of it. Just wish I could golf, but with a triple neck fusion and 2 double back fusions It is a non starter.
  4. Exact ages my Mother and father passed at in the last two years, and both from exactly as yours did, my father died of a Stomach Aorta burst, and my Mother died of COPD/Heart Failure. They smoked from the age of 14 and drank like fishes. I rarely drink and have never smoked, so what would be the guesstimate of life expectancy, I have no clue. My grandparents on my fathers side died at 97 and 99 years of age, my mothers Parents died at 52 and 56 from strokes and diabetes, of which I am the generation the diabetes attached to but only after a neck surgery where the doctor pushed so many steroids it caused the pancreas to go into a deep sleep......sucks to take diabetic medication, but I try to keep it at the minimum by my diet and exercise (45km a week of jog/walking). Goal for me is to make it to at least 80, and that is 23 more years, provided I do not get run over by a bus, or flattened by a Grab rider on the sidewalk.......
  5. Looks like my bag of diamonds may be worth something in the end, as well as all the rubies in the safe.
  6. What is being stated that can not be done is killing off an existing O-A extension of stay and obtaining a new O visa and extension of stay, completely different critters than what you have Sir. To kill off an existing Visa, Extension of stay (1 year) you need to leave the country and then return without a visa and obtain a 30 day exempt entry if your from one of the countries that can obtain this. Then you can apply for an O visa in country. Do some research.
  7. A mandate is a mandate, it's not a law, but it was an order and one the CCSA put in place. Wear it if you want, up to you as the Thais say. man·date /ˈmanˌdāt/ See definition 1. an official order or commission to do something. Just like that.....
  8. Initially we lived by the beach, wanted the mountains so we moved to the opposite end of the country to Chiang Rai. After a few years there decided the flatlands in Udon Thani would work as near family. That worked for a divorce. Then moved to the Phils, Manila then Cebu (put all my stuff into storage here in BKK first) and then 6 months later headed back to BKK because the Phils didnt do it for me). Now looking at moving back to the beach, my how things go in a circle every 20 years ......
  9. Ergo seller was motivated and wanted to move on.
  10. My condo here in Bangkok has a separate office in the front lobby arethat at they run and has rentals available.....the main juristic office also has almost all of the floor plans for each unit that the engineering department can use if there is a problem. They also screen all visitors to the building and make visiting folks, and anyone who is going to do work on your unit get checked in. You must also personally come down and escort them up.
  11. Must be a walking mummy coal mine worker if they are from 200 years ago, the COLA since then would have quintupled their SS by now.
  12. Sad when people are unmotivated to sell at a reduced price due to greed.
  13. Not if its in a feces encrusted community with surrounding properties abandoned and downtrodden. But yeah a price of free then would be about right.
  14. USD to THB now at $1 to 35.26Thb. Lets see what next week brings.
  15. You forgot to add in AseanNow, as well as using Line, Messenger, WhatsApp, and Instagram....
  16. Probably outside of the budget but still perfect sub-compact https://www.one2car.com/en/for-sale/smart-eq-fortwo-bangkok-metropolitan-phaholyothin-bang-sue-chatuchak/7232922
  17. Thanks, since I do not receive SS and instead have a pension that gets a COLA adjustment each year it is why I asked the Q?
  18. Toss what the Tickets or the plates? The Tickets come to the owner of the car as they can trace the plate through the dealer you bought it from. I know, I received two speeding tickets, photo enforced, via the mail from a trip i took down to Krabi and back in my new red plated vehicle last year. On the ticket it showed the red plate number and then the real plate number which was awaiting pick-up by the dealer at the DLT, they took 3 months to get them, but the dealer had to have put the red plate number into some type of system the DLT has.......The Red Plate deposit was returned upon picking up the white plates.....
  19. True about the food, but it depends upon where you live. In Cebu where I was staying you had to drive a distance to find decent food, but instead I obtained an S&R Membership (Like Costco) and purchased everything I could so I could cook at my Condo. I also would order from Amazon, and it was no issue getting this delivered, where here it takes an act of congress and many of the items can not be shipped here, but then I have sourced out what I need here in Thailand thanks to living in BKK.
  20. My Father worked for 47 years in his profession. The last company he worked for sold to another company and they terminated all of the employees, he was 2 months away from having worked long enough for a pension and lost out. The Pension guaranty act kicked in for him upon his retirement and he was given $186 dollars a month for his 29 years and 10 months. His SS income was a whopping $1640 a month, for a grand total of $1826 a month. Thankfully he had paid off his house, but still needed to find part time work to keep him afloat after paying his bills every month, buying his food and taking care of what his Medicare did not. Lucky for him he had SS as he had paid into it his entire life of working, but it is a pittance. Had he lived somewhere other than California he may have had more money, but had he not had SS security the man would have been homeless.
  21. Far from innocent, they are programmed for the long con....lol, well some are. Had a friend whose marriage lasted 20 years here in Thailand, in the end when he turned 80 and needed daily help, the now 55 year old woman, kicked him to the curb and took him to the cleaners, all because he needed daily assistance after a stroke......so nice to see they are so caring unlike the Filipina women who are natural care givers. Friend in the Phils has the same aged wife, he needs help daily, former military, and she is loving and caring. The drawback as some of us have posted is the safety of yourself in the Phils.
  22. From the OP's link One of the most important relaxations of the day is surely the cancelation of the Thailand Pass including: Revoking the Thailand Pass for international visitors International visitors will only be checked for the vaccination certificate or ATK test result at random. Unvaccinated visitors/not fully vaccinated who are checked at random will need to take an ATK test. This is expected to be lifted when the emergency decree ends, which is staying for the time being. Removing temperature and respiratory checkpoints at the international entrances. Changes/Removal to Covid-19 insurance requirements. This is still a question mark as of press time with mixed messages and may need further clarification. Replacing the Thailand Pass with only a basic Health Declaration Form as needed
