No. I never liked the Christmas and New Year season in the West anyway, so I'm happy to be in Thailand. Christmas intrudes here, silly music in the shops etc., but nothing like to the same extent.

Why on earth did you refer to a fitness holiday ? Just say you are a tourist. Don't complicate the issue, and don't offer info you have not neen asked for.

Applied today at CW for annual extension of non immigrant category O visa. In and out before the lunch break. Polite and efficient service, with no issues.

I'm married, got a house. Yellow book no problem. Took a few hours at the amphur but that was it. Bonus I wasn't expecting was they isued me a pink ID card at the same time. They said it took along time due to new system in place. This was in October just gone. Bt70 I think. Can't remember but not much.
Same experience. No problem at all, and ID card provided at the same time. I live near to Ratchayothin in Bangkok.

The guy looks like a drunken idiot.

I got stiffed for 2k baht for 2 days over at CW.

Don't do this unless you have to. Far more complicated.

This is very complicated. Personally I would not choose this method.

Just don't touch the 800k at all. Leave well alone and you will find things much easier here.

Exactly. I don't need help here, I usually give it. But a lot of advice, and information, if you want to call it that is, in many cases, incorrect, conjecture. Off the cuff comment. So, going to straight to the Immigration office and asking the very people I will be dealing with, in this case, guarantees my success in business with them.
I was hoping to not make a trip to Immigration today but in this case, nobody, not even Ubon Joe knew for sure the correct answer. So, straight from the horses mouth as it were and now I know I can go even several weeks after the appointment date AS LONG AS THE BALANCE HAS BEEN 800K during all that time. GOING BEFORE THE APPOINTMENT DATE IS NOT ALLOWED
Out of my experience here, there are many answers to repeated questions that should be pinned at the top of forums. Good solid advice and answers about many repeated questions could be pinned but the admins and "senior" members won't do it. Advertising revenue I suppose. The more traffic the more revenue. And some men basically live there lives on this forum becoming forum "Big Shots" and know it alls. I choose not to.
Lastly, you will notice I gave a every detailed blow by blow HOW TO post on getting your own retirement visa at Chonburi immigration.. That was last year.. it's since been buried. But in it is EXACTLY what someone needed to do if they want to do a DIY retirement visa during the time income affidavits were still accepted. This is the kind of thing that should be pinned at the top of forums. But it is not and the forum continues to get inundated with the same questions over and over and the same members post the same answers... pointless.
Thoroughly unpleasant tone.

Agreed. Just go away and don't come back.

Do you mean 'extension' or do you mean 'report' ?For the 90 day report you don't need anything from the bank, merely turn up on or before the nominated day with your passport and previous extension form.
-
Never heard of it before. A friend discribes it as rat's <deleted>.
-
Unless financial issues are involved I would stick with a retirement visa. So much simpler.

This sounds like an extension, not a visa issue.

Too many low life Brits trying to con the embassy and causing a lot of trouble. Sadly the straight guys now paying the price.
-
I'm no fan of the embassy here in Bangkok. Too many people doing very little. However, on this question, I understand their case. The author of the letter has written a polite and thorough explanation of the issues involved.

I have been working for over 40 years and a British foreigner staying in Thailand. I personally do NOT have access to 65,000 bhat and have NI payments over 35 years! Who are these people that have a pension income of 65k++
Possibly people with a state pension plus one or more company pensions.

Holding a ballon up awaiting a dart to come flying out a vagina aiming to burst the ballon is a frightening experience .
You are trying to cover your eyes and look at the same time .
Terrific in the 70s and early 80s. The original Queen's Castle on Patpong 1 was voted the best bar in the world by Time Magazine. Then the riff raff began to arrive on cheap flights. Nothing was ever the same again.

Well, I'm 78, and hopefully I'll never make such a shambles of entering Thailand as you did. Firstly, they were simply asking you for a sight of your 20,000 baht in accordance with the law. Secondly, you said you complained. Big mistake. Speak politely at all times. I would think that after 25 visits you should be fully aware of both of these issues.
visa renewal denied at CM immigration. Visa expires.

Ridiculous comment. The mistake is his, not Thai Immigration.
