It must be deep in our psyche. Not that long ago we controlled 25% plus of the world's population and land mass so we tend to think we can go anywhere, and behave badly, with impunity. The sad reality is that we are greatly reduced, and struggle just to run our own, relatively small, country. Our politicians are full of s..t, as are our rivers, beaches and reservoirs.

Thais appear to have become addicted to cutting down trees. Bangkok is an example of this. 40 plus years ago an American consultancy recommended filling in klongs to make way for more road space. This resulted in the trees which lined the klongs being removed. This trend is now repeated all over the country. Concrete rules, sadly.

As an non-American observer, who is definitely not a fan of Donald Trump, I wonder if any of you guys are worried at what appears to be a connived effort by the US justice system to prevent him from standing for election on November 5 ?
