  1. If I was in the bar business I would require all new customers to settle their bill after every 3-4 rounds. That would minimize losses. But then again, many bars pad bills and take advantage too. It's all dodgy business at both ends.
  2. Yes, very unsettling. It's not good to make assumptions, but if the guy who got kicked in the head isn't dead or in a coma wouldn't they be very keen to wave the green flag and inform everyone he's alright in order to deescalate all the viral blowback already blowing up in the media? And then the other guy not wanting to press any charges when he was beaten up and did nothing wrong. Why wouldn't he press charges? And where is the justice for him?
  3. Spliff is so eighties bruh. It's a "fatty" mang.
  4. It's been so long since I've sat in any type of bar like that, but back in the day you often met guys in bars like those who would do the opposite and buy you a beer instead. Well, did they at least offer you a reach around in return? Seems like the least they could've done as a courtesy.
  5. It might even be more incestuous than that, but I don't want to throw around anecdotal conjecture. Let's say though they might also be seen as being useful to keep other hands clean and to handle and take the fall in certain situations when needed.
  6. These work well for push-ups. Help to get your hands in a comfortable position, less stress on the shoulder, and less pressure on the wrists this way: https://s.lazada.co.th/s.Mp5qJ Decathlon used to sell them, but not sure if they still do. They are easy to travel with too and good for pushups in a hotel room when you don't have access to other equipment.
  7. Totally agree. I was also being sarcastic a bit in my post.
  8. Fine. Possible. The phenomenon isn't so fascinating though. Also, needless conjecture and became moot (prior to any violence) once all bills were already paid.
  9. According to the cashier, they were all together as a group of 3. Mates presumably.
  10. Whether they knew the 3rd guy or not doesn't seem material. Fact is they already paid all outstanding bills before any violence erupted. As you said, guards should have left and no violence should have occurred at all. But these guards are probably looking for any opportunity to smash up anyone who is a bit drunk and acting a bit aggressive. They also probably want to prove their worth to the bar owners and as to why they should be paid to be there. All of it is all wrong on every level.
  11. Anyway, sounds like all is OK again now, right? As long as they apologized to Thai society then that's all that counts, no? Three security guards who assaulted two foreign visitors admitted that their actions were excessive and apologized to Thai society for their actions.
  12. I just read the Khaosod article. Ms. Samorn, a 38-year-old cashier at the bar where the incident occurred, witnessed three foreign tourists drinking. Two paid their bills, but the third changed seats multiple times and then left without paying. When asked for payment for the 3rd guy, the guy in the white shirt argued he had already paid. Eventually, the other guy in the group paid the 2,800 Baht bill for the 3rd guy, but the one in the white shirt pushed a guard, leading to chaos on the street. So they squared all the bills. Even if the guy pushed the guard afterwards, no way the guards should have delivered a hard kick to the head when the guy is already on the ground and nearly unconscious. In fact, guards shouldn't have hit anyone. Just restrained them and called police to arrest them if necessary.
  13. That's a new twist. Bill padding is pretty common once the punter has had quite a few and bought a few more for the ladies, but something doesn't sound right there. The geezer already paid his own bill and now the bar wants to force him to pay a ฿2000 bill of some other bloke that he doesn't even know? Naah, something doesn't wash.
  14. You reckon I should cancel my Soi 6 short-time booking now? I just spoke with my doctor and he said most STD's are treatable, that an extra 2,000 Baht fleecing is to be expected after you've had a few, but he said field goal kicks to the head on Soi 6 should be avoided from a hired thug named "Ice".
  15. I use push-up bars which raise my hands about 4" off the floor. If I put my chest on the floor it goes beyond the normal range of motion and could cause shoulder injury. With the todger to the floor method (using push up bars) my elbows are already parallel to my chest. Regardless, I assure you I've got much more of a chest pump right now than 99.9% of men over 50 years of age. That was your quote wasn't it? But call me when you've done even one push up though. I also love all your silly assignments. So, please sir, may I have another?
  16. I just did 200 push-ups (todger to the floor) spread over 8 sets of 25 each. I did the first 100 in 14 minutes. Then I took a 15 minute break. And I did the second 100 in 16 minutes. So the 200 total took me half an hour. And I didn't injure myself, which is key. I'm similar in age to most of you, but in all fairness I do exercise fairly regularly. Weight training. Walking when circumstances permit. So 200 push-ups wasn't really much of a challenge for me. Here is a thought for a useful challenge though which involves no danger and no stupidity: Many people are coffee drinkers, so stop drinking coffee for one week. With the money you save, hand out a total of ฿300 to people you see on the streets in need over the course of that week. Visit one animal shelter during that week and hand out some food to the animals. Visit one children's orphanage during the week and spend some time with the children. And walk at least 1 mile per day for each of the seven days. Don't eat any fast or deep fried food for the week. Then, after the one week, see how you feel. I suspect that you may feel a lot better than you do right now. If you don't like my ideas, then come up with your own useful and safe tasks to challenge yourself with for a period of one week. The options and opportunities are endless.
  17. Well that settles it then.
  18. For some maybe. For others maybe not. Comes down to body mechanics.
  19. What can you do besides write bizarre posts?
  20. For all those struggling with all the calisthenic exercises being discussed, see if you can do 20-25 bodyweight squats where you get your knees down to 45 degrees.
  21. That part I'll agree with.
