Yes I remember Nok , he charged a few baht but made the whole process a lot easier . Glad I went for the 5 plus 15 year Elite last year . -
Bitcoin or Gold?

Hoping $2000 becomes a floor rather than a ceiling for some good % gains . Same thing happened when it broke $1000 . I have some crypto but got hacked last year and am pretty cautious . For me it is too complicated to buy / hold / sell . However ETF 's will boost prices longterm . Short term it may be buy the rumour , sell the news . -

was thinking Volvo EX30 but the Seal looks really good value , very tempting . servicing for me also much easier in Surat rather than a drive to Phuket . -
They confirmed to me price to upgrade will remain the same . ' Greetings from Thailand Privilege Card Member Contact Center. According to clause 5.3 "Upgrade, Fee, and Validity" of your application form, during the 5-year validity term, your membership may be upgraded. If you pay THB 500,000 for Elite Easy Access, you will be charged THB 500,000 to upgrade your membership. If you pay THB 600,000 for this package, you will be charged THB 400,000 to upgrade your membership to Elite Superiority Extension. You are eligible for an upgrade under this condition until three months before your membership expires, except for an upgrade to a new package with new benefits, which we will launch next month. '

GBP/THB rate sharp dive

UK inflation lower than expected , so BOE interest rate rises less than expected . GBP lower . -
I just had an ablation for atrial flutter but now it seems I have AF ! Seeing the Dr again this Saturday , am currently on concor and Propafenone . She wants me to have another ablation , I think , but expensive as my insurance will not cover ( although they covered the atrial flutter ablation ) . I just looked up apixaban , this is a blood thinner , I also take it under the name Eliquis . ( I haven't had any problems buying it ) I used to buy travel insurance ages ago when I was in the UK but haven't for a long time .

It looks like pre-existing conditions can be covered but only in the case of an emergency

Health insurance whilst travelling .
-
Thanks Sheryl

Hi Sheryl / I am from UK ( would be covered by NHS in case of an emergency onlu ) , 64 and have insurance with Aetna, they offer some health insurance whilst travelling but do not cover existing conditions . I am wondering if I can take out an additional heath insurance which will cover exclusions , basically artrial fibrillation in case of an emergency .

Is there any travel health insurance covering Europe and Asia which covers existing conditions assuming they are well managed ?

When it be released in Thailand ? -
Resolved thanks with a reboot . I have AIS which I think had an issue . Normally they have an online chat which is very helpful but I was unable even to access that .
-
As of yesterday I cannot connect at all and no response from support . Anyone else ?
-
Whenever I check , Phangan has far worse readings than Samui / not sure why a few miles makes so much difference .

Visit from Immigration today. TM.30
churchill replied to phetphet's topic in Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao
Immigration also filed in a form for me when TM30 started . I have never filled in one since and renew my retirement visa each year with no request to see a TM30 . I am in process of changing my visa and am told unless I leave Thailand I need to present a recently filed TM30 . I live in my own house , do not rent . Do I have to visit immigration to report each time I travel outside Samui ? -
Yes but if you plan on staying for 5+ years , 800,000 is locked . It releases funds now . I look at the 800,000 as locked cash , so unable to use until or if you want to return to Europe . Also has a few other benefits when travelling overseas , transport to and from airport , use of lounges , fast track , re-entry permit included , help with bank accounts if needed , driving license renewal etc ... and no annual hassle of printing , signing and presenting piles of forms ( in the right order ) , saving of annual immigration fees . I think it gives some peace of mind and security for the future .
