  1. Hi,

I bought the new Palmy CD yesterday with the intention of putting it on my Ipod, unfortunalty I didn't notice that it was the bloody VCD version!!

Does anyone know of a program that I can download (for free :o ) that can "separate" the video and music so I can play it as an MP3 or MP4 on my Ipod (I haven't got the new video Ipod :D )

    Any ideas???

    Cheers!!!!!!!!!

  2. Hi,

My girlfriend when to get a brazillian in Tong Lor as well, about 800 baht I think, and apparently it was extremely painful.

Not one to give up, she then tried again in Kao San at a place called "Charlies" or something (half way up Kao San) this place costs about 200 or 300 baht or something and she said it was virtually painless and very professional.

I have since told some friends from work about it and they have been for the same treatment. Every one of them has said that it is the best value and most painless wax experience in BKK

  3. SBK & Higgy88.

Hit the nail on the head there.

I agree that it is generally more likely that Thai customers will look down at restaurant staff and as a result come accross as being pretty rude.

Farang generally appear more polite. Please, thank you etc. (IMHO)

But as SBK says, farangs who feel that the service/food is not up to scratch will be a lot more "vocal"!!

Although I'm sure that in some areas pissed up farangs can be nightmare customers!!!

  4. BimeyCharlie,

Yeah, "mong arai" means "what are you looking at?"

    In my previous post I was referring to RippaSama's quote;

    ดู นั้น ผู้หญิง

    Duu nan poo ying

    Look at that lady.

Which I think should be "duu puu ying kon nan"

    Can anyone else confirm?

  5. How about people walking painfully slow in the BTS station/street?? Does my head in, especially when I'm in a rush. Or the classic; pause before you tentively step onto an escalator - It's not gonna kill you people!!

Not letting people OFF the skytrain/MTR before you others barge IN! Farangs and Thai equally guilty here I think.

    :o

  6. Hello everyone.

My bro is thinking about buying a condo in Bangkok (despite the gloomy predictions for the local property market...)

Some people have mentioned that if he did go ahead and purchase here, he would have to pay "household tax"

Does anyone know more about this tax? does he have to pay it even if he lives in the property himself? is it payable on condos and houses? I believe that it is 12.5% of the potential annual rental income, is this correct? how is this determined if he lives there himself?

Any help will be greatly appreciated,

    Cheers

  7. I keep meaning to go down to Phuket to give surfing a shot. I used to skateboard and snowboard a lot in my youth, I imagine that will help a bit?...

Does anyone know when the best time of year is for surfing and which beach is the best?

    Cheers

  8. One of my close (Thai) girl friends has recently noticed that she has started to "thin out" a bit on top. She is only about 25 years old and is obviously pretty concerned, so she has asked me if I know anything that she can do to reverse it...

I have just "googled" it and came across a treatment called "Rogaine" does anyone know about this. eg. Can you buy it in Thailand? Does it work?

Since she has approached me about this, I have noticed that female balding is pretty comon here, has anyone else noticed this? Or is it just that I can usually see the tops of peoples heads in Asia!! :o

    Cheers

  9. Wow! sounds like you got it bad!! Yeah, soi dogs are a complete pain in the arse!! So many dogs all over the streets in Bangkok and yet everytime I go to JJ market I see loads of people buying puppies... You've got to wonder how many of these pups will end up on the street...
